no ... not having babies - although I had lots of contractions last night!!

Have had a really busy day - went swimming this morning, made cakes this lunchtime, ds helped me to do some sewing for his quilt this afternoon, then ds's friend (and mum) came round to play ... the kids played, and we chatted ... it was lovely!!

Have read your thread j20 - exdp sounds like a real t0sser - if he starts getting crappy with you, remind him of the actual access agreement, and start working to rule - things only relax while they work!!

love to everybody else - am going to do stories, have a shower, then I am going to finish this d@mn headboard!!

karlou · 22/09/2007 19:37

hi inzi!! . No baby action here!!!

I think I may have been a bit sarcastic to my MIL earlier. Actually she's lovely - but she does worry about everything and has a tendency to treat me like a child.
Anyway she's been away in Portugal and I'd told her on the phone about the injections I'll need. As soon as we walked through her door tonight she starts saying she's been worried and am I sure it's ok if I have them - what if the baby is affected? (As if the combined minds of the consultant, registrar and midwives wouldn't realise...)
I'm afraid I answered that they probably thought that risk was preferable to the one where I die of a blood clot and the baby has no breastmilk at all.
Thankfully she didn't seem offended...

WinnieThePooh · 22/09/2007 19:49

No babies her either. Took DD to football at school today and she seemed to really enjoy it.

Also was out for about 2 hours collecting in Avon books and needed a rest when I got back in.

J2O - hope things went ok with exdp today. He sounds like a real idiot.

Hope everyone else os ok.

I am off to watch Deal or No Deal then have a bath and bed.

Night all.

Hi, long time missing. Finally got our broadband back, thanks WTP for posting for me.

Went in yesterday with migrane as last time I had this it was an indicator I had pre eclampsia. Checked ok and given painkillers, let out last night and supposed to be resting (again!!!). Asked if they would induced me as over 38 weeks now but told it was too early ????? I thought 37 weeks was classed as full term. Still trying to get going myself but no joy as yet. Midwife in hospital thought I would go soon by the look of me and position of baby, hope someone has told the baby .

Congrats to all new arrivals, not had chance to catch up as yet. Good luck everyone.

MrsFish · 22/09/2007 20:30

Evening all

Well I am I have found stretchmarks they have suddenly appeared in the last couple of days, and I was doing so well too. Didn't have any with Sam and up till now thought I would get away with it again, but my mum spotted them and she said I am bigger this time round bump wise [stampsfoot like a sulky child]

I went home today to see my mum and aunt and sil, have realised that I can't drive that far now, its only 50 mins but I was very uncomfortable especially coming home, kept having really strong BH's and had to keep breathing through them, so I'll keep the driving to short bursts now Also still been having period like pains in bottom of bump and lo is still really shifting around. My mum doesn't think I have dropped yet though, so god knows how much longer he is going to stay in for I want him out before the stretchmarks get any worse

lisad123 · 22/09/2007 20:32

Hi ALL

Just a quick post.
As my sister posted I had Jasmine Leigh at 7.15am on yesterday. I had been kept in as I had had a bled and they wanted to keep me in as concerns that it was a placental bleed.

Bloody good job too I woke at 6am with a few pains so mw ran me a bath, got out the bath and waters broke at 6.30am. Was stuck on monitor, and told i was 4cm, so ready to go downstairs to delivery.
Rang mum and Darren. By the time I got down stairs at 7am, I had 3 contractions then ready to push, as had gone to 10cm!! LO heart rate dropped to below 60bpm Medical team rushed in, given a injection in my fanjo ready to cut so could do suck cup (cant rememeber real name) but managed to push quick enough, so now have 2nd degree tear Jasmine was whipped out of room, but brought back for feed, which was lovely. Managed some skin to skin with her and so did Darren (who arrived 15 mins before she was born).
She weighs 5lb 3oz, and has black hair and brown eyes
It was a big panic and very quick but was lovely, so much nicer than my c section.
Shes feeding well and very good. My SPD is feeling better, although the doc tried to insist I put my legs in stirrups , it was manged well by mw.
We are home now and resting well.

Hope LES little one is ok, will try and post pics later in week.

Lisa

MrsFish · 22/09/2007 20:36

Glad to see you back Lisa and that all went well in the end

ejt1764 · 22/09/2007 20:41

Fab to hear from you Lisa - well done on sticking your ground with the spd!

Karlou - I'm impressed ... I think we all need to remind our MILs to get real from time to time ... mine works as a receptionist in a doctor's surgery .... so thinks she knows everything! (well, more than normal! )

Right headboard!

Evening all!! Sorry to have been out of touch, but bubba arrived... Baby Joseph Alexander was born at 4:44 am on Thursday morning in the back of an ambulance - we just made it to the hospital car park, but no further... My contractions stopped on Wednesday so I thought I would have a couple of days more, then very gentle, irregular contractions from 01:30 to 03:30 on Thursday am at which point I said to dh I thought we should perhaps call my Dad and ask him to run the dsc to school in the morning so dh could stick around in case things progressed. Then had a discussion about whether a homebirth was feasible with three children in the house so told dh to call labour ward and ask if it was even a possibility with the supected OC. Whilst we were on the phone o them at about 04:00 am, my waters broke which was like an internal explosion! Bit of a shock as my waters were broken in a contolled way with ds1...

Anyway, contractions kicked in big time so dh helped me to car, stopping on the way for more contractions. Got to car and had the urge to push so told dh to call an ambulance. Ambulance station is fortunately 2 minutes down road so they arrived fairly quickly. Got some gas and air and managed to get into ambulance in between contractions. We set off for the hospital - 8 minute drive from house! I told them I could feel the baby coming so we had to stop once on the way for them to check. Nothing visible. Got to hospital car park and told them I could feel the baby coming again - another check at which point Joe crowned... Born at 4:44, labour of 44 minutes according to my hospital notes. More painful than ds1 with whom I had an epidural, but amazing to be able to feel the baby moving down.

Had to stay in hospital overnight as there was meconium in the waters when they broke and have been busy with sorting out house/dsc/fending off over-enthusiastic toddler since I got home. JA is very cute - furry, spotty and very dozy, but sweet... Very pleased with his arrival, but would not recommend labour that short to anyone! If we hadn't decided to wait for the ambulance, dh would have been delivering JA on the A23 and I would have had no pain relief at all...

Anyway, congratulations to Lisa - sounds like you had an equally dramatic time... Mw told me that 2nd degree tear is the most common and just means that the muscle has torn a bit. I also have a 2nd degree tear and it is much better than my episiotomy from last time...

LES - congratulations to you too! It's all happening early here, isn't it?

J2O - that sounds very much like a show - exactly what I had on Tuesday evening and through Wednesday. I was also induced so had no idea that the start of labour could be so gentle. I probably wouldn't have realised what it was anyway as the contractions weren't lasting very long and were irregular, but I would not hang around if you start to feel contractions... Better safe than delivering in the back of an ambulance, imo!!!

Will try to get back tomorrow to catch up properly, but in the meantime, hope that everyone is keeping well and that there are lots of safe arrivals...

ChocolateHobnob · 22/09/2007 21:40

CONGRATULATIONS MUMPBUMP!!! And welcome Joseph Alexander. What a dramatic entry to the world-wow. Amazing stuff!

And congrats to you too Lisa. It sounds like it was pretty scary. How come they didnt pick up the placenta issue before?

All action! J20, how are you? Sounds like it won't be long. Same for Jersey and WTP. Mrs Fish, plan something you really really want to do for the middle of this week and it's bound to happen before...

Inzi, how are you doing?

I've had a nice day in the end: a good wander round shops, a nice lunch, a nice dinner courtesy of Waitrose (bread, cheese, salads, ham, etc) and am now shattered and about to turn in - last night was v late and I didnt cope with it very well; lo was kung-fu fighting all night again!

Hope you're all okay - when will the next babe be coming along??

greedygreedyguzzler · 22/09/2007 21:53

congrats lisa and mumpbump! glad you both have your lovely little babies!
all these stories of quick labours are scaring the shit out of me!!! i will need at least an hour to get childcare sorted. i think maybe a 2 hour labour would be ideal!!! i will go for that i think!!! and i was hoping for a tuesday morning delivery too! what are my chances do you think!!!???

I keep thinking I have stumbled on the September thread!
Can't believe the numbers popping at the moment (how many are we up to now?)
Congratulations Mumpbump what an exciting delivery!
Following my scan (slowing growth worries) I have to see Doctor on Tuesday, and go in a be monitored again.
Getting a bit stressed - as midwife picked up at appt today (blood pressure up) she was a bit more laid back about it and said the growth was probably just naturally readjusting itself.
Hope so, could do without any major dramas here!
Am totally knackered, so trying to sleep whenever dh is around - so can't be imminent delivery wise as I definately do not have enough energy!

Hope eveyone else is ok... and good luck for any more early deliveries.

FloriaTosca · 22/09/2007 23:31

alicet · 23/09/2007 08:20

Mump! Congratulations and what a lovely name! Joe was one of the names I wanted that dh didn?t agree on ? along with most of the others! Great to hear all is well though?

Orange ? sorry about all the worry with your dh. Not what you need at the moment. Thinking of you and fingers crossed its nothing serious?

Karlou ? I think (although can?t be sure) that more frequent nosebleeds is one of the things that can happen when pregnant. Worth checking with mw though?

MrsFish ? sorry to hear about the stretchmarks! You have me worried now ? I had thought I was probably home and dry now ? off to slather my bump in bio oil!!!

Lisa ? great to hear everything went so well for you honey even if it was a bit of a panic at the end! And after all your worries too?. Enjoy your new little girl.

Floria ? sorry to hear you?re back in hospital but at least you have a private room..

Choc - hope il's not driving you mad

Thinking of the rest of you?. Can?t remember who else has said what! Big hugs to you all though?.

Well I too am torn between being excited to meet Adam and totally and utterly shitting myself about how I will cope with 2! Nice to know I?m not alone. Last night it really sunk in for the first time ? was chatting with dh in bed and we both suddenly went ?f*ck ? we?re going to have a baby and he could come anytime!!!!!? I mean I know that?s obvious but we hadn?t really grasped it before!

Wonder who will be next?.... My money on Floria I think!

MrsFish · 23/09/2007 08:38

Blimey mumpbump - very dramatic

CONGRATULATIONS

Floria - Good Luck for tuesday, and then it will all be over

Chocolate - DH and I are going out wednesday evening, probably the last chance we will have for a while now, so I am fully expecting it to happen then

Well woke up this morning and I have obviously turned funny in the night because I have popped one of my vertebrae out at the top of my spine again its an ongoing problem that usually happens about once a year, bloody annoying that it has chosen the last week of pregnancy to do it though just means it hurts whenever I turn my head, breathe deeply, bend down etc. Told DH that he is going to have to do everything for Sam today, there is no way I can pick him up or bend to do his nappy... taken some paracetemol and will have to wait till tomorrow to see if I can get in to see my chiropractor, but how I am going to drive there I don't know yet So annoyed as was planning on getting quite a bit done today.

ChocolateHobnob · 23/09/2007 08:41

It does feel like the September thread, doesnt it? My money's on Floria, too.

Poor you Floria - hospital must be such a pain! - but at least you've now got your own room and soon you will have lo with you! Exciting.

Orange, any news on your DH? Hope he is fine: you can do without this worry at this time!

Unicorn, sorry about the growth scan and bp. The end is coming shortly!

Alice, I know what you mean. I keep thinking, boo, six weeks to go, and then, sh*t, six weeks to go!

Mrs Fish, bad luck on the stretchmarks. I'm sure I'll get them eventually. I'm not that bothered because I have psoriasis which manifests itself across my trunk and stomach area, and so it is often v unsightly anyway!

Inzi, we had better wait a bit; it's too soon for us!

J20 - any more show?

I feel exhausted today. Lo had hiccups for ages last night and it's really low now, so the hiccups felt really low. Didnt sleep well. Visitors are a bit exhausting despite having been on reasonably decent form: I've been feeling sick for a couple of days. Still, only one more day of them... though this week is the hell week at work which doesn't help! I need to rest as much as poss in the gaps I think.

OK, better get ready to entertain again.

Take care all of you!

ChocolateHobnob · 23/09/2007 08:42

Mrs F, I cross-posted with you! What a (literal) pain about your back! Yes, DH will have to come to the rescue.

Oh - and my money's on a Wednesday appearance!!!

alicet · 23/09/2007 12:25

MrsF sorry to hear about your back. Thats really not funny. On top of everything else.

Choc - hope you have a nice day with the il's - last one for a while so that should help! Hope your next week at work is OK too.... Will reply to your email later.

Well I have been back to bed this am while dh took ds to soft play and still struggling. MIL due to arrive about 2pm and have a few things I need to do before then so not going back to sleep. Plus worried if I do then I won't sleep tonight and I don't have the option of the spare room anymore as when she leaves on tues my mum arrives!

Last night I cooked LOADS of stuff for us and ds to put in the freezer for after Adam arrives. All simple staples that can be thrown in the oven / microwave and are not too minging eaten lukewarm with one hand! A couple more to make now and that will be another job off the to do list and a freezer full to bursting!

I have a night out with dh this week too while mum babysits - probably Friday - so if my lo was going to put in an early appearance my money is either on then or on Sunday am when getting to the hospital will be a nightmare because of the Great North Run! Still sure he will arrive before my elective section date - I prevariacted so so long about what to do that the decision is bound to be taken out of my hands and make all the worrying pointless!

Hello everyone - hope you're all having lovely family days anjoying the last few days without a newborn (or those first precious days WITH a newborn depending on whether you belong to the befores or afters club!)

Buffy - hope Scarlette is continuing to make a good recovery.

Floria - hope you're not going too mad in hospital!

alicet · 23/09/2007 12:31

And unicorn - had missed in your previous post earlier when I was trying to catch up while looking after a very playful ds that you have an appointment with the doc on tues. Hope lo is OK. WIll be thinking of you....

missbumpy · 23/09/2007 14:02

Sorry, I find it hard to keep up with this thread. How many October mums have had their babies already? It seems like they're popping out left right and centre! Congratulations to everyone who's had their baby already
