Evening Ladies

Your advice on this thread would be greatly appreciated.

MrsFish · 21/09/2007 18:28

muppetgirl - Its not the first thing on my mind either, I would rather sleep than have sex, but then again I can't sleep either atm, so may as well have the sex, DH is then a happy bunny and if it gets things moving quicker then all the better.

j20baby · 21/09/2007 19:07

hi girls, would someone be able to tell me what a 'show' looks like? the other day i had a bit of clear jelly, then about an hour ago i had like yellowy snot with a tiny bit of blood(sorry if TMI) am getting a couple of cramps but nothing definate, was induced with dd and can't remember much, any info would be appreciated!

btw, i sat there and thought, 'woohoo', then i thought 'oh sh*t' am very scared if something is happening!

j20baby · 21/09/2007 19:09

Thanks Inzi, nothing happening now! so annoying, even more annoyed because i've just come down from the bath and somehow the cat has got out of the back door, it was wide open when i came down! which means she's pi**ed off to the old house, so i'm going to have to go and try and find her in the next couple of days, grrrr!

j20baby · 21/09/2007 22:59

well girls i did go to bed but then got a phonecall that sparked this thread any support would be great considering i'm sat crying my eyes out, bloody hormones!

thanks Inzi

i'm in agony with my jaw or cheekbone or whatever it is thats hurting on the side of my face too, have rung the out of hours doc because co-codomol and hot water bottle isn't relieving it, don't know how much more i can take to be honest, although the doc was very nice and talked me through some relaxation techniques to try and help take it off, she said their's nothing else thet can do, don't think i've ever wished to have a pain relief injection before, but i do, i wish i could have a numbing one like at dentist!

i've been to bed 3 times and had to get back up with the pain, sorry for all the moaning

alicet · 22/09/2007 08:09

Muppet ? wish I lived close enough to come to santas grotto with you! Ds would love it. Bit of a hike from Newcastle though!

J20 ? if you book trains early you can get some fantastic deals! Have fun in London. And that sounds like a show to me! But unfortunately doesn?t necessarily mean things are imminent apparently? Can be a coupe of weeks or so. Although everyone I know has gone into labour a couple of days after?.

Well I had a lovely thai meal out with the girls last night which was somewhat spoilt by breaking down on the way home. Luckily AA came in about 10 mins plus had a mate with me. SOunds pretty expensive but will call garage later...

Hello everyone else ? off to look at other threads in a min if ds will let me!

ChocolateHobnob · 22/09/2007 08:38

Morning everyone,

J20 - anything happening? And I read your other thread - you are definitely not being unreasonable! It isnt fair to want to have DD and then not even have her stay with him - and bring her home sick and grumpy into the bargain. You can do without this! Hugs from me!

Any news from Floria, did she get home this w/e?

Mrs F, hope your action starts on Monday!

Muppet, those chopsticks made me laugh!!

I did have a nap yesterday, you'll all be glad to know. Good thing I did as cooking wiped me out - I made a beef stew with brandy and cream, mash, steamed carrots and broccoli and then a chocolate cake with chestnut puree in it, and creme fraiche. Inlaws never offer to help, just wait to be waited on! They went home just after 11 and lo did its nocturnal partying thing, so I'm still shattered today. Not entirely sure what we're doing today, but am dreading having to cook again tonight - not so much the cooking as the whole entertaining thing.

Anyway have a good Saturday all!

MrsFish · 22/09/2007 09:05

J20 - {{BIG HUGS}} what a mess you are in atm, not sure how you are coping, but keep it up, not much longer to go hopefully.

Chocolate - Can't believe you are having to do all the cooking etc... can't DH help out more??

Well I feel like my bump has dropped a bit, but not sure if thats wishful thinking or not. I had period pain type aches all yesterday eveing right under my bump, so went and had a hot bath and took a couple of paracetemol and went to bed, woke up a few times (about 5) but went back to sleep pretty quickly after each time. I am now torn between wanting Ben out and wanting him to stay put, not sure I am now ready for all the nightime feeds

Also worried about how it will effect ds1 during the night... we live out in the country so it is very quiet at night and as a consequence Sam is quite a light sleeper, I am so used to him sleeping a full 12 hours rarely waking that I don't want to suddenly start having problems with him too. Now 'D' Day (drop day) is getting closer I'm starting to worry about the effect Ben is going to have on Sam

Do they adapt quickly? I am hoping so

greedygreedyguzzler · 22/09/2007 09:13

mrs fish - my ds/is was a light sleeper and i was terrified that when my dd came along she would disturb him during the night. i can honestly say that my dd never ever disturbed my ds! she used to wake up about 2.30am and grizzle a bit, and i would go and feed her and then she would settle herself straight back to sleep! just what you want second time round!! none of the endless crying and pacing around that we had with ds!!! OBVIOUSLY i am expecting the same this time round too!!!!!

how old is your ds1? mine was 17months when dd was born and he adapted brilliantly! never had any problems............am a bit more concerned this time cos he is 4 and dd is 2.9 and they obviously know what is going on a lot more!

i am fluctuating between wanting baby out and shitting myself with fear too!!!

ChocolateHobnob · 22/09/2007 09:19

Everyone says the second baby sleeps better than the first... maybe cos parents are more relaxed?? I am sure it will be fine Mrs Fish. I love the names, by the way (Sam and Ben).

Sorry I should have said that DH does help. But the problem is that his parents were insisting on showing him a slideshow of their holiday photos at crucial cooking time and when he tried to escape they weren't happy. Hence me getting landed with it. Today we've decided to take them out for lunch in Durham and then go to Waitrose and buy bread and nibbley food for tonight (we have cheese...) and just serve that with the remains of the chocolate cake. A bit easier...

MrsFish · 22/09/2007 09:49

That sounds a better day Chocoalte

Greedy - Sam is 2+5 (nearly) I hope you are right on the seconds being easier to settle. I suppose it makes sense, I was a nervous wreck with Sam

j20baby · 22/09/2007 09:53

h all,

nothing happening here now, was up a lot in the night with my jaw hurting and worrying about dropping dd off, thanks for your support on the other thread.

mrsfish-hope your feeling ok and lo waits till monday to make an appearance!

hi to everyone else

orangecat · 22/09/2007 10:49

Well, what a nightmare day yesterday was. DH spent afternoon in A&E with heart palpatations Luckily they ruled out anything very serious, but he kept getting them all through the night. V fast heartbeat, then an irregular one before settling down. Happens when he is resting, which was the most scary thing. He had an episode while on the phone to me, cut off and I didn't hear from him for 2 hours!

Stress of it all gave me a false labour scare. Had contractions with mild pain, then started standing up and rocking. Remembered that being in the bath in early labour slows things down, so did that and it all stopped. Phew.

DH at doctors now, and will need 24 hour monitoring. I don't think it's anything massive to worry about - they just need to find the cause/ sort out how to treat it.

Anyway, haven't yet read through everybodies posts. Will do that now. Just wanted to get yesterday off my chest, as it were.

karlou · 22/09/2007 12:35

Orangecat - what an awful today and how scary for you. I hope you get some news soon on the cause/treatment.

J20 - I've posted in your other thread. Hope your weekend doesn't cause too much stress, look after yourself xx

Chocolate - sounds like you should have an easier day today fingers crossed!

I'm feeling a bit weird today. Last night when I was watching tv I suddenly felt blood running down the back of my throat, including clots (sorry if TMI) then my nose started bleeding quite a lot (for about 10 minutes). It's been fine since but I'm a bit concerned as I have to have these anti-clotting injections post-natally. I think I might speak to the m/w on Monday to check that they aren't concerned.
Felt crap this morning, really began to worry I was in premature labour. I had a bit of a show the other day and woke up feeling uncomfortable and a bit fluey. I'm feeling a bit better now but I really am starting to think I'm not going to get to 40 weeks (34+6 today)

Hi to everyone else - hope you all have a good weekend! xxx

orangecat · 22/09/2007 12:40

Further to my earlier message, have had a chance to catch up. Thanks so much muppet for that other thread - there's nothing like some toilet humour to cheer you up. Laughed so much my bump hurt!

MissB - welcome.
Karlou - re: injections and unsightly tights. But at least they have thought about the problem and are doing something proactive
Unicorn - hope all ok with scans etc. Again, good they are keeping you monitored so you can have your mind put at rest
LES - HUGE congrats, Zach so cute
Floria - lovely to hear that you at least got out of hospital for a night. Hope you had a lovely evening and a good nights sleep. Good luck for Mon eve/ Tues
Lisa - HUGE congrats on the birth of Jasmine

And hi to everybody else

orangecat · 22/09/2007 12:49

Karlou - cross posted there. Def speak to mw re: nose bleed. I've been having quite a lot of them (as I did with last pg) but I don't recall them lasting as long as 10 mins.

Just being on this thread may mean you will have baby early!! But don't overly worry, plug can go over a number of weeks. All these signs we are getting just means our bodies are getting ready for the big day

Hi all, thanks to those that posted on my other thread

orange-how scarey, hope dp is ok.

inzi-dentist checked my teeth last sat at my emergency appointment and said she doesn't think i'm grinding them as there is no wear on them, so don't know what to do about it really, but it is the most awful pain, never known anything like it, will go back to my GP as soon as i can get in as he said accupunture may help.

also, i keep waking up covered in sweat, so your not the only one

karlou-def speak to the mw about nose bleed, i've been feeling fluey for weeks, don't know if its my body getting ready to give birth, hope you feel better soon, make sure you rest

well, i'm going to try and catch up on some sleep and possibly go to see my mum's new flat tonight.

hope everyone is ok
