Ok folks here is the new thread. I have put it into ante natal again for now, we can always start a new one in the post natal forum once we have all popped.

:D Could have used that for a thread title.... Once you pop you just can't stop

Hi laksa, I answered your post on the other thread.

Ladies, I'm still rooting for you all. Would it help if we all did a pineapple/curry/sex/nipple stimulation sesion by proxy for you. Do you think it would move things along for you if we did it en masse?

emj23 · 04/10/2007 12:30

Congratulations laksa, sorry to hear things are not going very smoothly for you so far, I really hope everything improves very soon. I'm sorry I can't offer any advice, I don't really know anything about BFing.

LOL kinki - thanks very much, feel free to try it if you think it'll work! I don't think I can stand eating any more pineapple myself, so if someone else can do it for me, that'd be great!

dal21 · 04/10/2007 13:12

laksa - please dont worry about how long your lo feeds for...we are all different and how long our bubs feed for depends on how efficient they are at getting your milk and how fast your milk flow is. also, your lo is still bery small so dont worry.

also be aware of a growth spurt coming soon - babies out the blue need to feed lots more frequently for about 24 hrs. is perfectly normal and no indicator that you arent producing enough milk.

re the winding, some babies just arent windy. on the postnatal thread, we discussed winding a few days ago-have a read. for me, the biggest sign that your baby has wind is when you try to lie them down - they start crying, face goes red and they pull their legs up.

when is your baby next due to be weighed? that is the best way of checking that they are feeding ok. also - keep an eye on how often they dirty nappies and colour of their poo. both are indicators that your baby is feeding well and digested their food.

am sure you are doing great. have trust in yourself, it will come together!

MrsFish · 04/10/2007 13:32

Well then, today has all been a bit of a blur for me so far. Dropped ds off at nursery, then went to see mw at 10.30, she did a sweep (wasn't that uncomfortable by the way) and then pronounced that she thought he might still be breech so sent me off straight to hospital for a scan. Got there at 11.30, had scan.... and he is breech because she did me a sweep they don;t want to leave me over the weekend, so I am going in for a cs tomorrow morning 8am my mind is all a whirl, thought I would let you all know, and then I am going to repack my bags now I know what's happening. Will probably be in hospital till monday/tues if there are no problems. So much to sort out and do this afternoon now, must get on, will catch up with you all later, hopefully you will find this thread ok

Oh and any tips of what to pack from those of you that had the cs would be useful... ta x

emj23 · 04/10/2007 13:42

Oh my goodness MrsFish, that does all sound a bit of a whirlwind, I hope it all goes brilliantly for you! No idea about the packing for CS though, sorry.

Hopefully my appt tomorrow will give me some answers too, fed up of not knowing when anything will happen.

amyclaramum · 04/10/2007 16:10

good luck Mrs Fish !! Its all happening now ! Good job you saw the mw today ?

My recommendations for CS packing are - big pants for after, nightie instead of pj's(easier to put on), arnica to take before and after. Can't think of anything else - will pop back if anything springs to mind.

Take care and looking forward to hearing the news !

diddle · 04/10/2007 18:29

good luck Mrs Fish, hope all goes well.

I haven't posted on here much but was due the 28th Sept.
I've been having contractions since Monday, Early Labour, was examined yesterday morning and the MW couldn't reach my cervix and after 3 days of agnoy i wasn't even dilating.
Gutted!
My contractions stopped this morning, had my overdue appointment to discuss induction this morning, and they offered me a sweep, and i'm 4cm dilated!!!!
the contractions are starting up again now, but they're all over the place, painful but not regular at all. so we're waiting at home until they get more frequent

MrsFish · 04/10/2007 19:13

Hope it comes for you soon then Diddle

Mw did me a sweep and said I was 3cm dilated, which is the reaon they have had me in so soon for the c-section, they didn't want to leave me over the weekend because of the sweep. Well I have repacked, with big knickers, pads and nighties, a couple of books.

Just had a bit of a meltdown, today has finally caught up with me. Went to get my notes to pack at 4.30 and couldn't find them, then realised I must have left them in the shop after my scan when I went for change for the carpark. Rang the hospital and luckily the notes had been handed in, so then had to do a mad rush hour dash back to the hospital, because I have a couple of pills to take before tomorrow, then straight to pick ds up from nursery for 5.30. Got him home and he was a bit niggly because he hasn't slept all day, gave him a bath and washed his hair, probably not the wisest thing because he hates it. Anyway he had the screaming ad-dabs on him, ran to his room and got in bed, managed to get him ready for bed, but then he wouldn't come downstairs for his bottle or a cuddle, and kept pushing me away, totally unlike him... anyway that set me off into floods of tears because I wanted a nice cuddle off him before I go in tomorrow, as we will have probably left before he wakes up in the morning. Managed to get him to have his milk, and then he went straight to sleep at 6.45, so I have only seen him briefly all day. trying to calm myself down now before DH gets home, because I know I'll start again as soon as he asks me what is wrong.

Anyway, sorry for the long woe is me post

OP posts:
kinki · 04/10/2007 23:45

Just seen this Mrs F. Hope its not too late to wish you good luck before tomorrow. Bet you can't believe its finally happening. What a shock losing your notes the day before. Glad someone handed them in.

Today I was agreeing with a lady in a shop that there was something in the air affecting 2 year olds (is your ds1 2 as well?). Both her little girl and my ds2 were having major tantrums at the time. We very nearly left the pair of them in the shop. We did the decent thing and didn't abandon them, though we did both treat ourselves to a bottle of wine to help us cope.

Anyway, a good nights sleep and I'm sure he'll be back to his usual self. Incidentally I hope your childcare is all sorted, I remember the hassle you were having with the girl who was going to have ds1 for you, about a holiday or something.

All the very best tomorrow, we'll be thinking of you! Good luck too diddle, sounds like things are moving for you too.

kinki · 05/10/2007 09:24

Oh oh oh ... just got this message from Mrs Fish:

"Ben couldn't wait till this morning.. he beat me to it. Waters went at 11pm, contractions started at 11.45 had emergency section and he was born at 1.47am weighing in at 8lb 11oz. Head of blonde hair just like S, both of us are doing very well x"

Congratulations Ben and Mrs F, and daddy and big bro too! Got a feeling this little one will keep you on your toes all right - keeping you waiting then coming in a big rush! Looking forward to seeing a picture.

TwitmonstEr · 05/10/2007 17:05

TwitmonstEr · 05/10/2007 17:06

willjo · 05/10/2007 18:24

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to let you know that my beautiful baby girl has arrived.

Evie Martha Jones was born at home on Sunday (30 Sep) morning, weighing 7lb4oz. Haven't had a chance to catch up with all the posts, but hope I'm the last of them.

emj23 · 05/10/2007 18:52

Huge congratulations to MrsFish and willjo and welcome to your babies!

Still nothing happening with me, I have an appointment on Sunday where if the baby's head has engaged I will be given a sweep and if not, I will have to be induced some time next week.

kinki · 05/10/2007 20:47

Another 7 beautiful babies to add to the list. Hopefully I got the details correct. Please add/amend at will.

So far 35 little girls and 21 little boys (plus baby enormous, sorry don't have your details).

Twit, here's the post natal thread. Been thinking of you. How are you getting on with 4? I'm just about coping with 3, but hats off for anyone with more, that's for sure!

hayley2u · 05/10/2007 21:27

sorry everyone had very busy first 3 weeks not been on much. cant believe we finally got our babies when 9 months ago it felt a lifetime ago.lucy erinn is doing well a right chunk like her father lol. just so tiring the night feeds when i think we get her in a routine she completly changes.soloving having a girl she so pinked out, some people have asked me what had and lucy is in a pink dress so aint it obvious so annoying. surely noone dresses a little boy in pink ????,
hope everyone is doing good

Nicki10 · 06/10/2007 14:29

Hi Everyone

Just a quick note to say our little girl Poppy Molly arrived on 26th September at 10:07 by emergency C-section weighing 8 pounds 9 ounces.

It was a difficult delivery which ended in me haemorrhaging and needing a blood transfusion. I was unable to hold her or really see her for the first 3 days but DP was fantastic and is just the mossdt amazing father!. Poppy is doing brilliantly and is the most gorgeous baby ever (although I would say that!)

Will catch up properly later.

xxx

emj23 · 08/10/2007 14:48

No idea if anyone's still reading this, I think I may be the only one left who read and posted regularly who hasn't had their baby yet. I had a sweep today but I don't think it will have done anything, and I'm booked in to be induced on Friday. I really really didn't want to have to be induced but clearly this baby cannot be bothered to arrive without intervention, so there you go. I suppose I still have three days where it could still happen but I've pretty much accepted that it isn't now. Sorry for the moaning post but I'm quite upset.

kinki · 08/10/2007 16:31

Don't get too down emj. Didn't MrsF start contractions the same night as her sweep? You never know something might happen. You're not on your own - I keep coming back! It doesn't feel complete on the other side until we're all together again.

kinki · 08/10/2007 16:32

Oh, I always press 'post messages' too quickly. I meant to say big congratulations to Nicki and little Poppy! Have you found the post-natal thread yet?

Big hugs to you emj, I went over by 8 days with both DS and DD1 so I know how you feel, you poor thing. Your bubba must be very comfortable in there! Looking forward to having you over on the 'other side'!

Congrats to all those who have popped! I'm guessing there are loads who haven't had time to post so if you're reading this, hope all is going well!?

Take care all

emj23 · 08/10/2007 21:12

Thank you so much for your messages, they did make me feel a bit better

My DS was eleven days late and it didn't really bother me that much but this time I'm only eight days over and I feel really hacked off with it. It doesn't help that my bump is much bigger this time and I'm finding it really hard to walk. I know it's possible that the sweep might get things started but I just don't think it will. As far as I could tell the MW couldn't do it properly as cervix wasn't open and I don't feel any different so far.

Yes, I am getting all the phone calls and texts asking if the baby has arrived yet, it's very sweet of everyone but I have assured them all that I will let them know as soon as anything happens. It hasn't stopped them.

Hope you're all well and enjoying your lovely new babies and also that I'll have some good news to share very soon!

typhoonsmum · 09/10/2007 07:19

emj23. I was the last one on the July 07 thread to have their baby. Isn't it horrible reading about everyone having their children and you are still feeling fat and uncomfortable and feeling that this will never end.

I was induced at 13 days late in the end. He is now 8 weeks old and going for his jabs this morning. You'll be fine. Enjoy the peace and quiet while you can. Have a nice long soak in the bath. Take up some chocolate and a nice bottle of (NON ALCOHOLIC) wine! Enjoy the next few days.
