Ok folks here is the new thread. I have put it into ante natal again for now, we can always start a new one in the post natal forum once we have all popped.

:D Could have used that for a thread title.... Once you pop you just can't stop

Hi Emj - I know how you feel, sleeping the past two nights has beeen unbearably uncomfortable due to largeness of bump.

Well I have been on my feet most of the day and I think bump has actually dropped. Just got back from the cinema - had a cuury first, then watched Run Fat Boy Run - which is very amusing, and I had a good belly laugh, then dh drove home which was very bumpy and quite uncomfortable... too knackered for bedroom action, will just have to see what todays efforts bring without it

Congrats to the new arrivals, not long hopefully now before this September thread has run its course

Congratulations to all the new mums! Some amazing birth stories there! I'm still thinking of you ladies who are waiting.

MrsMar · 26/09/2007 22:34

poor you emj... I really hope things get going soon, I so remember those uncomfortable night, even if I'm not getting much sleep now, what I do get is pretty comfortable. It's so horrible when you can't turn properly or get comfy.

MrsF - good to hear your bump has dropped a bit. I hope all your efforts bring results soon.

wow tinalc - Congratulations on the birth of Isabelle, what a drama! So glad to hear everything turned out ok in the end, must have been quite scary for a while, but so great to have a happy outcome. Take it easy, i hope you feel better soon.

congratulations on the birth of dylan minimenace. I hope you start to feel a little less bruised and battered soon!

there are loads on our stats list who haven't updated, early sept arrivals... I wonder if they'll ever come back and keep us posted?

right I'm off to do the late feed and see if we have a quieter night tonight, fingers crossed. I hope everyone with newborns have a lovely quiet night and those still waiting for theirs have a comfortable night!

xx

PurpleLostPrincess · 26/09/2007 22:36

Oh bless you poor things still waiting! I so know how you feel as I went over by 8 days with DS and DD1 and they were the longest days of my life! I purposefully won't make suggestions as you're probably sick of people telling you what to try, I know I was!

I've mentioned it before but I distinctly remember when I had DD1, going to the shops and people constantly saying "haven't you had that baby yet!?" - it drove me doolally!!!!! I was desperate to say "yes, I've left it at home but I decided to come out with a cushion stuffed up my top instead!" and see how they liked that!

Congratulations to all the new arrivals! We're off to bed for our night-time feed...

Love from PLP xxx

diddle · 27/09/2007 12:25

emj - you sounds just how i feel. i'm due tomorrow and every slight feeling i get, raises my hopes. Just want baby to arrive now!!! right now, would do me fine.

my DS was 2 weeks late, went in for induction afetr 10 days. hope this one comes sooner than that. have tried some things, bumpy roads, rasp leaf tea, tried it all last time and it didn't work so i don't hold out much hope. i truly believe that it is the baby that decides when it comes not us. so i guess its just wait wait and more waiting.

willjo · 27/09/2007 13:33

Congratulations to all the beautiful babies that have arrived over the weekend and this week - too many to individually congratulate!!
Can't help feeling pretty envious though as I am still waiting rather impatiently now!
Feeling pretty sorry for myself and very grumpy.
Is anyone else getting fedup with an overload of phonecalls and text messages asking if baby has arrived or if anything has happened? My mum has taken to calling me daily and usually we only talk every week or two (not that close) - I want to shout 'stop phoning, I will call when baby has arrived' phew, feel a bit better for the rant.

Lots of birthing vibes going out to all the other mummies with impending arrivals.

ps can you overdose on raspberry leaf tea?

willjo · 27/09/2007 13:40

Diddle and emj23 - I can empathise with you both. On Tuesday night (after some reflexology) I started getting waves of period like pains that lasted through until midday and since then zilcho.
Every little twinge I get my hopes rocket to the sky - I feel like this baby will never come out!

How many of us who are still posting are waiting for our babies I wonder

We need to keep supporting one another, oh these days just seem to be dragging on and on and on.................... desperately trying to keep my diary full to 'take my mind off things' - so NOT working

40+6

MrsFish · 27/09/2007 15:48

willjo - I know how you feel, and I am not officially overdue until monday Regarding your mum, don't be irritated, she is obviously just excited, she could be like mine and be on holiday this week, without even a text to see how I am

I have had period like achy pains most of the day too, I wonder if that means he is moving into position, I think he has dropped a bit but then again could just be kidding myself

I'm waiting too! All those sensations are very familiar to me- especially disrupted sleep, days feeling like weeks and a whole range of weird sensations- pressing, pushing, knitting needles being jabbed (!) into my cervix. I had my midwife appointment today and managed to burst into tears . She gave me a sweep, just out of sympathy I think! Booked in for induction next Wed if nothing happens first.

On the upside, I had this really lovely dream that I had the baby; everything was really fast as if it was being fast forwarded, then as soon as I held the baby in my arms time stood still, and it was just him and me (and DP of course). It was an amzing moment and something for us all to hold on to... maybe!

Hang in there ladies!

MrsBumblebee · 27/09/2007 18:27

Hi everyone, I'm finally back from hospital - nice to back in touch with the world!

I'll try not to bore you too much with details of the labour, but in a nutshell... By Saturday night, had been in 'pre-labour' for 2 days - contractions very painful, but never more than 5 mins apart. Hospital told me to stay put at home, but then I had to go in at 1.30am on Sunday to get checked because waters had broken. Still only 'pre-labour', so admitted to antenatal ward. By 1pm Sunday contractions no closer, but now really painful, so sent down to delivery - and already 5cm dilated. Got to fully dilated pretty easily within 3 hours with just gas and air (although I did vomit all over DH the minute he arrived ), but then contractions completely stopped. Waited half an hour, then given big dose of syntocinon - contractions still rubbish, though, and after two hours of pushing I just couldn't get the baby out. So then had an episiotomy and ventouse (still with just G&A and a local - nice!). Then, the placenta wouldn't deliver, even with syntometrine, so had to go to theatre for spinal anaesthetic and manual removal. Thought I was doing ok afterwards, but apparently I lost a third of my blood and had to have a transfusion becauase of low iron.

Anyway, that's it in a nutshell. A bit traumatic, but to be honest I think it was worse for DH than me in a way - there's so much I can't even remember. And Paul was fine throughout - never in distress, and actually slept through nearly the whole labour .

We're all doing really well now. I'm not really in any pain (great drugs ), Paul's beautiful, and we're all very happy. Breastfeeding is going really well after a couple of early difficulties. My only complaint is that Paul's really difficult to settle at night - all he wants is the breast - so sleep is pretty hard to come by. But I hardly think I'm the first new parent to discover that!!

Sorry, no time yet to catch up on posts, but congrats to everyone who's popped, and good birthing vibes to everyone else who hasn't, esp EMJ and MrsF - you go girls!!

Right, I'm off to change his nappy - please god without getting wee'd on this time...

willjo · 27/09/2007 19:10

MrsBB- huge congratulations on the birth of your son Paul - it sounds like you are all doing great. Gosh you birth does sound traumatic, so glad you can't remember it too clearly.

Yetihed - what a lovely dream, yes lets hold onto that thought .
I feel like crying too, I hope the sweep gets things moving for you.

MrsFish - Sorry about your mum my mum is usually like that and has been really unsupportive throughout my pg so I have been quite taken back by the persistent phonecalls of late.
Visualise your baby dropping down lower - positive thinking girl

Wishing lots of active progress over the weekend for those still waiting and lots of love to all the new mummies and babies out there

40+6

kinki · 27/09/2007 19:37

I know I've passed to the other side (), but I'm thinking of you girls all the time. I can't imagine the waiting, as all 3 of mine arrived early. Wishing you all a restful and comfortable evening/night.

willjo · 27/09/2007 20:48

ahhhh, bless you Kinki

You have a restful night as well

emj23 · 28/09/2007 11:18

Thanks all of you for being so kind and sympathetic, I hope all of your babies arrive asap too, this discomfort is horrible. DS was 11 days late, I'm just hoping this one is a tiny bit more punctual!

I'm going to try going for another long walk today, as I said before, I don't think any of it really works, but I have to keep trying it anyway!

MrsFish · 28/09/2007 13:37

I'm the same as you emj, keep trying all the tricks even though I'm with you, that lo will come when he/she is good and ready you have to feel like you are trying though don't you

kinki · 28/09/2007 15:16

tina and acmum: I have it on great authority that all the best babies are born at kingston. Its official. They grow up into fine upstanding, intelligent individuals. They are beautiful, clever, witty and friendly. Need I go on? In a nutshell, kinston babes are fabberrooney.

Ahem, did I mention I was born at Kingston too?

nh101 · 28/09/2007 16:36

Congrats to all you ladies who have had your babies, and good luck to those still waiting - you may remember me, I was on this thread until March when I had a mc at 13 weeks.

Now I am PG again, due June 1!!!

Hopefully I'll make it all the way this time. I am only 4+4 at the mo !!

kinki · 28/09/2007 17:17
