Ok folks here is the new thread. I have put it into ante natal again for now, we can always start a new one in the post natal forum once we have all popped.

:D Could have used that for a thread title.... Once you pop you just can't stop

Nettee · 22/09/2007 21:16

hi there - I am a big fan of co-sleeping and not remotely worried about developing bad habits yet. DS always fed to sleep and then when he weaned he settled no problem after his bottle. feeding in bed is great for getting sleep and I think Amy sleeps better next to me anyway. Just have to suss out what to do with your arms

Mrs Fish - sounds very promising hope to hear more news very soon

oh well better go - baby crying

xxxx

Chattyhan · 23/09/2007 12:30

mrs fish - i'll keep my fingers crossed that things are happening for you!

MrsFish · 23/09/2007 12:46

Hi there... nowt happening this end, have popped one of my vertebrae out in my neck though during the night (an ongoing problem) having a very difficult day trying to move around without crying out in pain Hope to keep labour at bay until I can ease this otherwise it won't be pleasant

Holly29 · 23/09/2007 19:41

Hello all,

Got home today which has made me very happy! George Maxwell is gorgeous, but am feeling a bit overwhelmed by everything and shattered... Well done to all the new mums and will post again soon.

TOD · 23/09/2007 22:38

Hi all, congrats to all of you who have had their little ones and best of luck to all of you who are waiting...not long more now!

I had little baby girl, Niamh,9 pounds 6 oz's, on the 14th sept, now 9 days old!! She is a little angle and so good so far...fingers crossed!!
DS seems to be taking to her, a few jealous moments, maily when he is tired but we're getting there!
This is the first chance i have had to log on but i am enjoyong her so much...things seem a lot easier this time around...god i hope i have'nt jinxed myself now!!
The labour was shorter..not easier but at least shorter, 7 hours in total. I had no stiches or anything this time so maybe that is why i feel so much better this time around...hopefully it will last.
Best of luck to every one, i know there is a lot of conflicting advice out there on whats best for baby and so many books which contradict each other....I had read them all first time around and tried a few of the routines on my DS, which only made me get frustrated and dishartened when he did'nt do what the book said he should be doing....it took a couple of weeks before i realised the stress i had myself under trying to make him conform to such a routine. This time, NO BOOKS..I'm just letting DD do her own thing and so far so good and i'm not half as stressed as i was first..you live and learn!

amyclaramum · 24/09/2007 09:56

Congratulations to all the new lo's - especially Amy as my DD1's name !!

love to all of you still waiting and being induced - good luck !

Chatty - (((( hugs)))) to you with DP ! Sorry MIL had no influence ! Can you invite your Mum or friend over to give you a hand ? Or could mums of friends of DS1 invite him over to play/take him to park or something?

Re routine - nope - there is no routine ! Also I love having Eloise fall asleep on my chest and don't care if it spoils her !! I'm making the most of it as she will be my last baby and I want to enjoy each stage and not wish it away .

laksa · 24/09/2007 10:23

Hi ladies,

Haven't been able to get online for ages, and have missed so many babies being born. Big Congratulations to all! I am still in the fast dwindling waiting lounge (due 26th), so good luck to all those in the same boat and those about to be induced.

We have only just finished painting the house so I am quite happy for this lo to stay inside for a few more days whilst I put the house back together...why do I always leave everything to the last minute

xx

clainne · 24/09/2007 11:03

hi
congratulations to all who have had their babies and good luck to those still patiently waiting...
i saw the dr last tues and he booked me in for an induction for today, but the relief of having a date arranged must have kickstarted things as i started having contractions within a couple of hours of getting back from the appointment!

Joseph was born on Thursday morning, 8lb 10oz, absolutely gorgeous! We are on cloud 9, totally blissed out and delighted

holly hope you are feeling ok post section and being looked after by your mum.

mrsf - hopr you are feeling ok too.

hello to everyone else, hope no one has been caught up in the tornados!

Lulabellx1 · 24/09/2007 12:14

Hi guys. Im a first timer! Was due last week (the 17th) and still waiting for junior to arrive

Any other overdue mums out there? Feeling lonely and need some good vibes.

Lu xx

emj23 · 24/09/2007 12:21

Hi all, hope everyone's okay. Congrats to TOD on the arrival of Niamh - another lovely name!

MrsFish, your neck problem sounds horrible, I hope it gets better for you soon. My due date is Sunday and everything is definitely getting more painful. I keep having people in the street asking if I'm okay because my bump suddenly hurts and I have to stop and breathe til the pain subsides a bit. I'm sure it alarms people in case I'm going into labour outside Woolworths

I tried eating a load of pineapple again last night in an attempt to get things started, but nothing happened except I got a sore mouth and heartburn. It's looking more and more likely that this will be an October baby.

29+1

Uki · 24/09/2007 12:28

HI ALL

just popping over from Aug 07 to say Hi.
crikey this thread is enormous, no wonder I recognize so many names. Any one on MN left that's not on here

big CONGRATULATIONS to all the babies so far.

WELL DONE & a big WELCOME to Purplelostprincess, EddieMcCredie & Chattyhen's new bubbas [

GOOD LUCK to everyone else, i might have to check in more often how exciting is this!!!

emj23 · 24/09/2007 12:31

I've just read that back and I mean of course, 39+1. Pregnant mushy brain still very much in evidence.

Also, I missed out saying congratulations to Clainne on the birth of Joseph!

yetihed · 24/09/2007 13:07

Haven't been on for a while, but in need of comfort as I am now entering the world of overdue babies at 40+1.

Congratulations to all those people who are enjoying their new borns...

Lullabellx1- you have my full sympathy. I too have had the discomfort notched up- I am now finding it hard to be on my feet for long, and feel like a bump on legs. People no longer look at my face!

Gils · 24/09/2007 13:21

Congrats to all new arrivals, def seems like more girls on the thread! I was 11 days late so just ang in there. Can't believe she was born the morning I was supposed to go in to be induced!

Katie is now 7 days old and I am def finding all the advice baffling. I'm very worried about the whole feeding. She normally settles 4 hours between each feed and during day we are trying to keep her awake for a while between feeds just to give her some attention but we do seem to be getting more screaming matches for food and then only taking an ounce.

We are keeping our room for night time sleeps only but for last couple of nights she has taken a 4oz bottle but doesn't settle till next feed, just cries for more and more food. Worried about giving her a big bottle at night and then expecting it during day.

kelmcd · 24/09/2007 14:51

Gils - I give my LO a bottle at night aswell, he usually takes 4-5ozs. So far he hasn't had any problems between the two, takes boob and bottle happily and doesn't look for extra during the day.
Dal21 - I tried on my jeans the other day on the off chance the might fit, maternity trousers falling down, and to my suprise the did fit and felt a little looser than pre pregnancy.
I weighed my self 3 days post baby and i weighed 2kilos less than i did at 9 weeks no idea how i did that!
I must admit to no appetite at the moment tho, could quite easily just have breakfast and lots of water, anyone else feeling the same?
Hope everyone else is getting on well with their new bubs and hoping that the remaining babies come and join us soon xx

Holly29 · 24/09/2007 16:20

Urgh, I am so of you ladies who have lost pg weigh, and Dal21 HOW can you have got your skinny jeans up that far!

I still have the mother of all tummies, I suppose that I am only 5 days in but I could definitely still ask for a seat on the bus and get one no problem, if you see what I mean...

Dal, I am very happy to be home,my Mum is indeed looking after me very well and DH is going to take paternity leave when she goes home. Have you recovered from the section? I sometimes cannot believe I will ever feel normal again!Hope baby Ryan is doing well. George seems fine but not sleeiping like a newborn - only ever 2 hours at a stretch if I am lucky!

Much love to all those still waiting...

ccpink · 24/09/2007 16:21

hi all
I'm still in one piece Officially due tomorrow but am thoroughly fed up now. Didn't think I'd get like this but hey ho. Baby has dropped even more and today I can't fasten my combats - holding them up with the draw string. A good job I'm not going far in forseeable future as don't want to buy new clothes!!!!
lulubell and yetti - I am with you on pain. Many more braxtons now and some are quite ouchy! Still can't be too much longer now....surely...

yetihed · 24/09/2007 17:39

ccpink- I know what you mean about trousers. I have to admit, two weeks ago I bought some braces and they saved my life! They hold everything up with no need for belts, drawstrings or anything! It's bliss! Not the most glamourous item in the World but really, at this stage who cares?!?!?!?!?!?

PurpleLostPrincess · 24/09/2007 17:58

Hello everyone!

First of all a massive CONGRATULATIONS!!! to all those who have had their lo's. I'm so sorry I haven't been around to share in your joy but I have been thinking of you all so much! ((((((((((hugs)))))))))))

Our internet was down for a while but to be honest the laptop had started to gather dust while we adjusted to having Cerys around anyway!

I was feeling a bit teary today as I think its all started to sink in as to what lies ahead over the next few months... However, Cerys was weighed and she has put on 4ozs in the last week! Considering they only expected her to stabilise and maintain her weight this is great news. Therefore, I'm feeling a bit more positive - yay!

I'm now bf'ing and then topping up with bottles each feed which seems to be going well. Cerys definitely loves having milk from me though which is very comforting.

We've got the cardiologists tomorrow in Southampton and a check up on the stoma bag, then an appointment next week to have her kidneys checked. I'm hoping to get an idea of when the 'big op' will be as I'm getting more and more anxious about it. I wish I could go through it for her but I guess thats being a parent!

DH is brilliant with her, I love watching them together! He gets bottles ready on command, even in the night! (I haven't even touched the steriliser yet!). Only other downer is that he has been laid off due to it being the end of the season but we'll get around that somehow...

Big love to all of you! Please forgive me if I'm not around as much as before but I'll try to post updates as much as I can.

PLP xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

dal21 · 24/09/2007 19:52

Holly - if you are BF'ing - your tummy will shrink away before your eyes, 5 days is still too soon, bear in mind, I waited 14 days before trying mine. I am feeling fab - almost normal - went out to kings road on friday for spot of lunch and shopping and was out again yesterday. I do feel tired after a long walking session - but that gets better as each day goes by.
Glad you are being looked after....you will feel better as the weeks tick by.

Kelm - on the appetite front, my appetite is more than it was during pregnancy. I am ravenous most the time - but days like today, Ryan has been feeding almost every 2 hours - he normally goes 3/4 between feeds and on occasion has been sleeping up to 5/6 hrs between the occasional nighttime feed (think i have a growth spurt on my hands) and since I want to not risk milk supplies due to not eating properly - am making sure I am eating very regularly. Once I can start running again, am confident any pregnancy weight will come off fairly quickly, so am not too fussed....yet! LOL, am sure that will change!

PLP - good to hear from you! Sounds as though you are all doing great!

Hugs to everyone else waiting to pop and for those adjusting to life with the LO's - hope all is going well.

Rin23 · 24/09/2007 22:41

Dear all
just a quick birth announcement -
Bethia Maeve was born on 21st Sept at 3pm at St Georges. On her due date!
I went into labour thurs night around 8pm, then went to hospital around 7.30am on Friday. Normal delivery - just gas and air - am quite proud of myself!! And my girl is gorgeous - 8 and a half pounds. We've only just come out of hosp today - Beth was in neonatal ward after they thought they detected heart murmur. But all seems fine, (it's quite common I think) and we are thrilled to be home.

I haven't had chance to catch up with other posts, but many congratulations to those who've popped. Canadianmum - I think I was probably in the same room as you as was also in overspill from delivery ward! I thought Georges were fab.

Good luck to those still left to go - it's an amazing experience, like none other! Now I'm off for another sleepless night - oh well!

Rin xxx

HammerHeadShark · 25/09/2007 08:51

Morning all

Just popped on while all three girls are sleeping - unheard of occurrence

Canadianmum - congrats on the arrival of Anna, glad you got your VBAC.

Nettee - welcome to little Amy - fab name but I am biased as one of the DTs is an Amy

Gils welcome to Katie.

Holly welcome to George - hope your section was a good experience.

Clainne - welcoe to Joseph.

Tod - welcome to Niamh.

Rin - congrats on Bethia Maeve and well done on her arriving on her due date!

Kyala, MrsBumblebee, Mrs Fish, cc pink, - any news, any babies???

PurpleLP - great to hear from you and how fab that little Cerys has done so well in gaining weight - clever girl Good luck with the cardiologists at Southampton and I hope you get some answers so you have some idea what lies ahead, though I am sorry you and little Cerys have to go through any of it at all. I agree it is lovely to watch DH with Millie too - the babies seem even more teeny and cute in the hands of a big bloke!

Was feeling emotional yesterday as the DTs started nursery, one of them was fine but the other one asked to come home with DH when he dropped them off saying she was "very, very frightened daddy" - lucky i wasn't there as I would have picked her up and ran (well shuffled as much as my scar will allow) off with her, but she seemed ok when we picked them up. I am sure they will settle into it in a couple of weeks.

Have a good one x
