@helpasisterout I had an awful reaction to mine so I was advised to go on liquid iron and that has been so much better! You can get it online and I definitely recommend the swap if the tablets make you feel rough xx

CharlieB93 · 20/04/2020 13:46

What weight has people gained? I’ve just been weighed at the midwifes and I want to cry because I’ve put 2 stone on at 36 week! 🤦‍♀️ (I don’t own scales at home for this reason)

Lu1u · 20/04/2020 14:00

@CharlieB93 I have gained just about 3 now at 38 weeks! But I am quite chuffed with that as in my first pregnancy I gained over 5.. and that wasn't even by the end and I stopped weighing myself haha. I dont get nauseous in the first trimester (just starving the whole fucking time!) So I think that contributes to why I gain so much. It all comes off in the end so don't worry! Just think 9 months for the weight to go on and then 9 months to lose it which isn't so bad.

GinUnicorn · 20/04/2020 14:26

@CharlieB93 I wouldn’t worry about weight now. You are feeding your little one. Plenty of time for salad and exercise later.

@facevalue glad you are okay! Look after yourself!

I have been advised to pack drinks and snacks in my hospital bag just to be safe.

Good luck all

CharlieB93 · 20/04/2020 14:30

Wow @Lu1u 5 stone! That’s impressive 😂 did you loose it after?
I’m terrible for monitoring my weight so threw my scales away when I found out I was pregnant 😂
I think half a Stone has been put on my ankles! Anyone else struggling majorly with ankle swelling? Mine are huge!!!

november90 · 20/04/2020 15:06

@CharlieB93 @Lu1u

Haha yes I put 4.5 stone on with my first 😂😂😂 It took about 4 months to come off and I enjoyed loosing it so I'm trying not to stress too much :)

At 37 weeks I've put just under 3 stone on. I was doing well until this lockdown and now I've just thrown the towel on and will deal with the mess after 🤦🏼‍♀️

123Pandy · 20/04/2020 15:06

@CharlieB93 I've put on 3 stone and still have 5 weeks to go!

facevalue · 20/04/2020 15:14

@Lu1u mmm not sure most can loose all the weight after! i never went back to my pre pregnancy weight or shape but that's proof i brought a baby into the world!

you are all talking in stones! i only understand kilograms. most important is BMI ( your weight for height is better) to judge if u r bad or ok.

i put on 3 kg in last 6 weeks which is ok because i gained nothing this pregnancy prior to this but i don't want to gain anymore ! i found post baby weight gain with all the sleep deprivation and stress was worst 🥵🥵🥵

with this covid rubbish - gain as much as you like.

Clairesoph · 20/04/2020 15:42

I only put 2 stone on in first pregnancy and a stone of that was baby/placenta/water but this time I am up about 4 stone. This is the last baby though and it's in the middle of a pandemic so I'm not too bothered. I have the rest of my life to worry about getting fit and losing weight, you're only pregnant for such a short time in the grand scheme of things.

I also can relate to the swollen ankles, they don't seem to be as bad this pregnancy but in my first they were awful!!! I remember after I gave birth, because my legs had been in stirrups all the fluid had drained from my feet and I was showing everyone in the delivery room that I did have skinny ankles! 🤣🤣

CharlieB93 · 20/04/2020 16:52

@Clairesoph haha!! I’m definitely rocking the cankles look at the minute, just been out for my walk and come back and taken my socks off and it looks like I’m still wearing them 😂😂
Looking forward for the ankle ‘glow up’ when this is over 😂😂

november90 · 20/04/2020 17:03

So I'm feeling a lot of pulling, stretching, aching very low down today and during the night. If I get up quickly or jerk there's a pain. I just really feel like he'll be here soon! I hope I can hang in a week or so long!
Anyone else the same? Perhaps his head is just lowering 😬

Lu1u · 20/04/2020 17:44

@CharlieB93 @facevalue I was a stone heavier when I fell pregnant with this one so I lost the majority within a year of giving birth to baby number 1 but it was slow and long! I remember after the initial weight loss nothing came off for months and months. And yes different shape too good point! Even so, bodies go through the most amazing and crazy changes during pregnancy ☺️

Lu1u · 20/04/2020 17:48

@CharlieB93 @facevalue I was a stone heavier when I fell pregnant with this one so I lost the majority within a year of giving birth to baby number 1 but it was slow and long! I remember after the initial weight loss nothing came off for aaaaages which was disheartening but I wasn't far off in the end. And yes different shape too good point! Even so, bodies go through the most amazing and crazy changes during pregnancy ☺️

@november90 all sounds positive even if it is sore. Did they say whether babies head had engaged at your last appointment? My bump is still so bloody high up I wish he would engage soon so i don't feel like I am suffocating when I sit down haha

november90 · 20/04/2020 17:58

@Lu1u they didn't say! She just said everything was well!

I'm all of a sudden feeling really emotional and full of mum guilt. How will my son cope with a baby? How will I cope on my own with 2? I don't want to leave him to go to hospital :(

facevalue · 20/04/2020 20:18

@Lu1u @sao81 @november90 so my 36 week appointment was today the midwife called for a telephone consultation ( told her i was already in hospital yesterday and had all the checks so was no point in attending again today) then she said i needed a 38 week appointment too! ffs why!? i am having a C section at 39 weeks so why waste the time with attending again only one week before😒

i think she was irritated and said: u must come that's when we pick up preeclampsia blood pressure and urine bla bla... but i never had a blood pressure or urine or diabetes before🤪😢 with the corona virus i don't want the exposure before my C section- i just want my baby out while i'm still well so i can meet her at least once b4 this virus gets us🤨 somehow

facevalue · 20/04/2020 20:20

this was lovely

flissity · 20/04/2020 20:29

Sorry that this is all I have gone on about so far...

BUT is anyone else still breech? Or is it just me 😬 35wks tomorrow.

SwiftlySwifty · 20/04/2020 20:40

@flissity
We are transverse! And 37 weeks tomorrow so running out of time for him to turn naturally. Have the midwife on Wednesday to discuss our options. Sounds like you still have a bit of time? Think they only start looking at options at 37 weeks but may be wrong.

sao81 · 20/04/2020 20:43

@facevalue I think 38 week app is routine but surely you're going in for a section the week later something else could be arranged! Is she not willing to do home visit instead for you?
I have my 34 week app tomorrow but I'll be 35 weeks, so not sure if they're going to do my 36 week one at 36 weeks or 37 weeks, but I need to do my birth plan as induction is booked for 38 weeks! Then hospital every week until then for monitoring, I'm just glad that my hospital is only used for births at the moment if it was a general hospital my anxiety would be through the roof!

@flissity baby had moved head down at scan last week! Hoping he stays that way 🤞 midwife should check position at next appointment for you

Clairesoph · 20/04/2020 21:06

I am over the moon! It just dawned on me I haven't had heart burn ALL DAY (never happens!) and then I got ready for bed and realised my bump has dropped!!!!! Only 35 weeks and a long way to go but it was a nice reminder that he won't be in there forever!

woollycat · 20/04/2020 21:09

@Clairesoph excellent news! And I am so jealous 😀 I will be 36w on Thursday and the heartburn is killing me. I also constantly feel full - even in the morning when I wake up. Hopefully my baby will move down soon too.

Clairesoph · 20/04/2020 21:12

@woollycat ah bless ya! I was at that stage of only being able to sit down if I was basically laying back because there was no room under my ribs! I'm still not living any kind of comfort dream but it's nice relief on the lungs that's for sure 🤣🤣🤣 keep jiggling and bouncing the ball hopefully you're baby will get the message 🤪

november90 · 20/04/2020 21:47

@flissity my baby only just turned at 36 weeks! I had a growth scan at 36 weeks and he was head down. I think I pin pointed him Turing to a couple days before then as all of a sudden my tummy felt different and I couldn't stop weeing! He was also still breach the week before at my midwife app so there is still hope!

I'll keep everything crossed your little one turns ❤️

facevalue · 21/04/2020 01:19

i can't sleep. sex would help now 😥😂😂😂 my hubby ran off to the second bedroom cos i'm snoring these nights and it keeps him up! hehe i think it's funny how my desire never disappears during a lockdown and all the stress lol it's bad time for any affairs as you can't sneak out anywhere hahaha i'm making myself laugh with my silly thoughts ...
