@Moongirl10 glad you got checked x try to take it easy now

@november90 make sure your hospital bag is ready. i get period like pains too but i think it's normal. if it's time then you go for it and you can do it x did baby move? thought he was breech - sorry if i'm mixed up with someone else!
my baby bag is ready but my bag isn't yet 🧐 i have stuff i still use and things i ordered are yet to arrive. like the giant underwear for after C section.

Raindancer411 · 19/04/2020 07:56

@facevalue I am the same, baby bits ready but still need to pack mine. Will try to do that today.

@november90 Thinking of you. Hope it's just muscle aches if you aren't ready yet.

november90 · 19/04/2020 08:56

@Moongirl10 I'm so glad you're ok! It must've been very worrying for you ❤️ You definitely did the right thing :)

@facevalue the baby turned last week! He's now head down and he better stay that way!

I feel fine today, phew!!! I think it was stress. Ex is playing up again and I was awake most of the night worried. Our bags are majorly packed just the things I can't put in until last minute and waiting for some dark OJ's to be delivered! I really have my heart set on a May baby (🙈) but once we hit the 1st of May I'll be all over the pineapples etc etc 😂

Lu1u · 19/04/2020 12:47

@november90 so pleased your baby has moved to head down that is great news. I have had lots of period pain type cramps this week and slightly dodgy tummy but it has eased off again. Think it's my body preparing for labour as that's how it started last time! I'm not due for another 2 weeks 😬

facevalue · 19/04/2020 13:53

@november90 i don't know what's happening to me. i went for a walk then did the mistake of carrying some heavy bags. then started to get bad period pain , cold, and my underwear got wet. took paracetamol and lied down for an hour. it's eased off slightly but I started to pack my bags just incase. rang midwife and she says her gut instinct is to ask me to come in but if i could put a sanitary towel for 30 mins and see if it gets wet then call her back😞😞😞 i'm not ready to have the baby and i really don't want to go to hospital

november90 · 19/04/2020 15:10

@facevalue oh my goodness!!!! I remember that first time round period cramps was an early sign for me so it's something I'm definitely keeping an eye out for! Have you lost your plug at all, have you noticed?
I hope you're ok!!! ❤️❤️❤️

november90 · 19/04/2020 15:11

@Lu1u aww thank you. I was absolutely over the moon when they told me! I just hope he doesn't turn back around 🤦🏼‍♀️
It's all about looking for those early signs now isn't it! I feel like we'll be having a lot more birth announcements soon :)

GinUnicorn · 19/04/2020 15:31

@facevalue hope you are okay now. Thinking of you.

@november90 I had period type pains loads last pregnancy and a bit this one. It never meant approaching labour for me.

Saoirse7 · 19/04/2020 15:39

For those who have formula fed, how long would a 800g tub of Actimal usually last for a regular feeder? Obviously it's not easy to come by at the minute so want to know roughly how much I'll need. TIA

Sunshine8888 · 19/04/2020 15:49

@facevalue, keep an eye on the pad. If you notice 1-2tbsps of wet, then I would go in to be assessed. This is what happened to me and my waters broke a few hours later. It’s different for everyone though so please don’t panic. It may not mean you’re in labour - it could just be discharge. Don’t be scared to go to hospital. They have such strict measures in place, I never felt unsafe during my 10 day stay there. I wasn’t ready either but if this is it, you will be fine! We are stronger than we know. Keep us updated xxx

Lu1u · 19/04/2020 17:20

@saoirse7 at the height of my sons formula intake I used just over 1 tub a week (before weaning where it started to drop a bit). For a newborn i think a tub lasted about two weeks, but would be interested to see what others think!

MarshmallowsOnToast · 19/04/2020 18:22

I'm feeling a lot of pressure down in my pelvis today which is making walking & moving about a bit uncomfortable.

Also baby keeps head butting me "down there" and it bloody hurts!

He seems to have it out for me today!

Saoirse7 · 19/04/2020 18:44

Thanks Lu1u!

Lu1u · 19/04/2020 19:25

@saoirse7 scratch that, it must of been just over two tubs a week when he was 6 months old! At 2 months it was a tub a week. I am probably being less and less helpful sorry 😂

sao81 · 19/04/2020 19:47

@saoirse7 from what I remember, roughly a tub a week! You can order milk directly from aptamils website if you are struggling to find some in the shops!

@facevalue I know the current situation is scary regarding hospitals but I've been in a few times now and they have all of the correct precautions in place so please if you need to go and get checked! You could even ring the triage line first so they are expecting you if you need to go

@november90 any more pains?? Every little twinge I think is a sign and I'm still not due officially for 5 weeks even though hes coming in 3 😂

@moongirl10 im glad everything is okay! Xx

@facevalue I hope you're feeling well and looking after yourself!

@sao81 not as such but I have been particularly uncomfortable today. I'm in absolute agony with my upper back and there's nothing I can do to relieve it at all. I also didn't sleep well at all last night so I'm feeling yucky and eaten a load of rubbish! My tummy feels hard and uncomfortable... it's been a tricky day 🙈 thank you for asking! ❤️

Anyone else just have the feeling it's going to happen soon???

Saoirse7 · 19/04/2020 20:35

Great sao81! Good to know Smile

Rebecca612 · 19/04/2020 20:44

I know that baby will definitely be here before 5th May (my consultant won’t let me go over 37 weeks) so thinking that baby could be here in 2ish weeks is so scary/exciting!

I had some sharp pains last night and thought I was going into early labour but I’m hoping it was just trapped wind as I feel fine today. Baby is definitely lots bigger now, I’m getting punched and kicked everywhere, especially down there! I’m really aware of movement lately though - had an awful dream last night and I’m now keeping track of al movements as much as I can. I’m excited though and trying to keep as positive as I can through these times!!! Hope you’re all well ladies x

facevalue · 19/04/2020 23:19

Thank you ladies for the messages and reassuring words. my midwife insisted i go in to get checked- i wore mask and gloves. there were hardly any patients . the staff were all in masks and aprons- didn't see anyone's face. had the baby heart monitor and they check my cervix and it's not open. took swabs. said to take it easy. and if more pain or leak to call again. i'm 36 weeks and it's only 3 weeks until c section so should slow down and not lift heavy things. at least my bag is ready now and it's not long to go. i had to use uber to go home- as hubby had to go home with my DD - the only thing is that it's lonely being there without loved ones- no one offered me a drink or anything to eat - i was there for 5 hours - had gone in without lunch ... i think if i have to have a baby alone i will need to be my own advocate and ask for food and drink ( actively look after our selves) ..

sao81 · 20/04/2020 05:23

@Rebecca612 how exciting that your little one will be here so soon! Keeping positive definitely helps xx
@facevalue try to get lots of rest and definitely make sure when you're in next you ask if you need anything, the midwives are busy but should also be aware of how surreal things are for us too giving birth in these circumstances, so they should help if you need it!

I have had the worst sleep 😞 didn't get asleep until after midnight, then woke at 4 and awake again now. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come as my little girl was such a good sleeper 😂 its going to be a long day

@facevalue I'm glad that you're ok and managed to get seen! I hope you feel much more settled now :)

november90 · 20/04/2020 08:21

@sao81 my little boy was being a pain in the bun last night and took ages to get to sleep so I was hoping I would be in for a lie in.... but nope! Wishful thinking!! (When I say lie in I mean 7am 😂).
Stay strong today, I'm with you all the way 😴

helpasisterout · 20/04/2020 08:57

Anyone else been put on iron supplement? I did feel tired without them and it has helped but by belly is not thanking me and constipation has already begun.. amy remedies which I may have at home??

sao81 · 20/04/2020 10:51

@november90 counting down the minutes until nap time 😴
@helpasisterout I used to take mine with orange juice as itd help them absorb, try to avoid diary an hour before/an hour after taking them aswell. If it gets really bad I think you can take laxatives id ask.your midwife about it
