@Lifesforlivingandloving congratulations on your little boy! Hope you are both doing well 💙💙💙

@facevalue will have a look at that thank you! @flissity I've bought new bottles and steriliser but may try the colostrum at least see how it goes
@GinUnicorn aah I'm sorry 😞 have they said when the decision will be made?

I've spent most of today back on MAU, after a few hours monitoring due to some drops in babies trace its been decided I will have weekly monitoring for the next 4 weeks, induction booked for 13th May unless things change before then 😬

@123Pandy thanks - I guess my midwife just forgot to bring it up in my last appointment 😒I will make sure to talk about it next week and ask for a referral - hopefully it won't be too late!

@sazzlerazzle I don't know what all the rave is about but I just got one too - haven't unpacked it yet, but it had really good online reviews so I figured what the hell, let's cash out 😀

woollycat · 15/04/2020 20:41

I am still trying to choose a rocking chair for breastfeeding and just chilling out with baby. It's hard because I can't just try it out at a store any more. I want one that's really comfy to sit in but isn't gigantic. Recommendations welcome!

facevalue · 15/04/2020 20:42

i'm sure everyone will hate me for posting this- i'm heartbroken

Pregnant Nurse Dies, Baby Saved

A 28-year-old pregnant nurse who tested positive for coronavirus has died. Her baby was delivered successfully and is said to be well.
Mary Agyeiwaa Agyapong worked at the Luton & Dunstable hospital in Bedfordshire.

She was tested on 5th April and was admitted to the hospital on the 7th April.

i feel awful for her family and that poor baby 🥺😢😢😢

facevalue · 15/04/2020 20:49

@woollycat i have this chair - 100% recommend it... i love it and use it everyday even now! worth every penny.

november90 · 15/04/2020 22:20

@Lifesforlivingandloving congratulations on your beautiful baby boy! I hope you're all well, safe and happy ❤️❤️❤️

AlmostAlwyn · 15/04/2020 22:32

@facevalue yes, I think a link with a warning to that story would have been wiser.

AlmostAlwyn · 15/04/2020 22:42

@woollycat I sit in my Ikea poang armchair every day! It was nice to gently bounce in with my first. Though I'm sure pretty soon I won't be able to sit in it any more - well, I'll be able to sit in it, I just won't be able to get up again! Grin

May2311 · 16/04/2020 07:16

@Lifesforlivingandloving Congratulations!! Hope you and baby are doing well. It's lovely to hear the nice/positive news of babies starting to arrive filtering through😊

@november90 so pleased he has turned for you and that he is measuring on track!! My little girl has gone head down as well- found out yesterday. The relief is real haha!

@sao81- I'm thinking of doing the same re breastfeeding( attempting it for at least colostrum) but not getting too stressed if it doesn't work for baby and me. Glad they are keeping an eye on you & baby with monitoring!

Xxxxx

CharlieB93 · 16/04/2020 08:15

Morning all, has anyone noticed they are finding it hard to feel the baby move? I know she’s moving about but they’re very small movements unlike before where I could see her from the outside - is it because of lack or room or is this normal?

May2311 · 16/04/2020 08:20

@CharlieB93 - I noticed this the other day. My baby girl does randomly have a "quiet" day where I don't feel her as much/see her move but it went over 24 hours(which wasn't normal). Then I had loads of fruit and she went back to her dancing ways! I think it was because I have changed me eating habits as struggle having my main meal on an evening now so started having it earlier. I raised it with the midwife yesterday and she said that most of the time baby will be fine but if your in any doubt/worrying always ring the assessment unit to get checked out. So from now on if I start getting worried I'm going to do that as it's less stressful than trying to second guess if something is normal or not! Xxx

november90 · 16/04/2020 08:21

@woollycat I have the same chair as @facevalue as does my sister and it's amazing! The chair and the stool rocking together is so relaxing! I spent many of nights asleep in this chair with my first so would definitely recommend it 😂

@mrsf1204 yay that's brilliant news for you too! I've been thinking of you and your grandad, how is he doing? I hope you don't mind me asking!

@facevalue I saw the news on tele also. It's so very sad, and hard to even digest. Just try and keep thinking forward, everyday day gone is a day closer to it all being over. I get really bad anxiety over things and the best advise I have ever been given is to focus on what you can control and not what you can't. It's SO easy saying that I know, but if you can try and change your mindset to that it will help you sooooo much! Always here to chat/listen if you need it ❤️

CharlieB93 · 16/04/2020 08:40

@May2311 I think you’re right - I also think because her feet are near my ribs I ‘trap’ her when I’m sat in the office all day 🤦‍♀️ I just can’t wait until she’s here so I can actually see her and know she’s ok 🤦‍♀️ I really darent go to the assessment unit because of the virus. Mine is part of a main hospital so might not be a good idea to go.

MarshmallowsOnToast · 16/04/2020 08:40

@AlmostAlwyn

I have the Ikea Poang chair too! It's a fab cheaper alternative to the fancy rocking chairs & has a lovely bounce. 👍🏻

@CharlieB93

My baby boy also had a quiet/slow moving day last week which frightened me. Then the next day he was back rolling around again (looked like an alien in my belly) but if you're concerned you must get it checked out just in case, you'll drive yourself crazy if you don't. I've been there earlier on in my pregnancy. Went in to be checked & was so relieved all was ok I actually burst out crying at the hospital 😊

Hopefully she's just chilling out for a bit though.

woollycat · 16/04/2020 08:59

@AlmostAlwyn was the Ikea poang chair easy to assemble? My husband and I aren't very good at furniture assembly so would want something that's easy to put together.

AlmostAlwyn · 16/04/2020 09:07

@woollycat I didn't do it myself as my husband got it and had it set up by the time I got home from hospital! But it wasn't hard at all - there's several YouTube videos on the assembly if you want to check it out first or if you find visual instructions more helpful Smile

Caspianberg · 16/04/2020 09:14

@woollycat - we have an ikea wing chair, not the poang, but it was easy to assemble. Basically came in 4 parts, back, seat and 2 sides.

Movements changing here. Have never really had a pattern so far tbh, but I think he can definitely move less in general now. He is head down, feet in ribs, and spine/ body kind of moves one side to the other over the day so sometimes its hard in the middle, and feet always on left hand side.
At scan yesterday 37+4, they said all was fine, but showed how theres now just pockets of fluid baby is in, rather than completely floating around. So i guess its not so easy to move now from general position.

Also, yesterday was my first appointment at hospital since the whole corona thing. I was reassured that they did seem to be doing lots of precautions as far as possible. Stopped at entrance, questioned and temperature taken, mask given. Then one in at a time to reception. They have quarantined parts of the hospital off, so anyone with symptoms or temp gets taken through a Monsters inc style decontamination box to a separate wing.
On maternity unit, the corridors and rooms seemed to have a constant flow of cleaners re cleaning everything regularly (in the hour there, I saw the same door cleaned at least 6 times). All the postnatal wards are just double en suite rooms here, but they said they are trying to only put one person in each now. Usual 5 day stay here, but if feeling up to it will now be encouraged to leave quicker, with midwife then doing home visits. Its still currently partner in for birth only, then has to leave after 2 ish hours. No partners will be allowed in for c-section, but can wait outside room and again stay for 2 ish hours after.

Raindancer411 · 16/04/2020 10:03

Morning all... am now 35+2 and am so achy in my bump. Does anyone else seem to have sore patches on their bumps? I have one to the right of belly button that is tender and sensitive.

Raindancer411 · 16/04/2020 10:04

Oops pressed send before I finished. I have noticed that some days she moves more than others but still has some swimming room I think.

november90 · 16/04/2020 10:43

@Raindancer411 I went through this over the last few weeks. During the night my tummy was SO tight and painful! The baby has turned and is head down now and that seems to have passed. It was more of an all over ache compared to patches though.

I feel like I should be feeling a lot more movements then what I do! But it's always been like this so no changes. Maybe I just miss them, or maybe it's because it's my second and my tummy is so big!

I literally cannot believe I'm just over 3 weeks away from my due date! As soon as we get into May I'm gonna try all the old wives tales to get this baby moving! Bring on the pinapple!!! I'd love to make it to my due date, but with my history of chubby babies I do NOT want to go over 😂

Also how accurate are the ultrasounds with baby size? I was told I was in trace on Tuesday but spectacle as my tummy is so big!

Purple29 · 16/04/2020 12:00

So me and the wee one got moved out of neonatal and back to a hospital nearer home, in a room together and hubby can visit when he wants!! He just has to establish feeds, where he no longer needs topped up by tube!! Then hopefully get him home with us!!🎉🎉

CharlieB93 · 16/04/2020 12:11

Thanks for your help girls - I ended up going to assessment unit after talking about my concerns to midwife on the phone, I ended up being on a monitor for over a hour because the babies heart rate was so high, it did come down in the end but I’ve been told to take it easy. Apparently this can happen when you’re really anxious / stressed. I think sometimes we forget we’re only human, I’m still working full time and walking 3 miles every day, think it’s time to slow down.

May2311 · 16/04/2020 12:31

@CharlieB93 as long as all is ok that's the main thing! Definitely did right thing ringing them😊 and try and take it easy! When do you finish work?

@Purple29 that's fab news and even better that hubby can visit when he wants for support for you! Xxx
