@Purple29 not sure if this is something you have even looked into yet with still being at hospital, but have they mentioned how to claim child benefit with no birth cert? X

@november90 I counted all my babygrows and I've got 28 in newborn/up to 3 months🙈 I love babygrows too they just look so tiny in them! Its addictive 😂
@Caspianberg im glad they have said partnets are allowed at the birth, that must be some relief for you

@Babymamma192 I was induced last time and the induction suite isnt too bad, its a room of 5 beds but has a kitchen/shared area with Tv, birthing balls etc so you wont be alone in there! They moved me to delivery when I was around 2cm so if its still the same he should be with you for the duration xx

@sao81 it has on the child benefit website that if you haven't been able to register the birth due to covid then you can still claim it just now. I've not filled it all out tho.

Due on the 4th of May Grin. What snacks are you putting in your hospital bags?

Rebecca612 · 01/04/2020 14:06

Back from my scan - baby is healthy and a good weight so my c section has been moved back to at least 37 weeks! I’m over the moon! Don’t have to go to another consultant appointment for another 4 weeks which is fab as I feel like I’m in the hospital once a week at the moment! Excited that the baby will at least be a May baby as well.

I hope everyone is feeling okay today. Is anyone planning anything in the week or for the weekend for something to look forward to at all? Mine is setting up pour baby monitor and giving myself a pamper day on saturday. Oh how social distancing and pregnancy has changed me - excited over a baby monitor and a face mask!

MrsHouse92 · 01/04/2020 15:16

@Rebecca612 I'm making a baby mobile this weekend. Smile Pamper yourself whenever you can!

I'm currently working from home but looking forward to my maternity so I can finally nest!

AlmostAlwyn · 01/04/2020 15:25

@Caspianberg Birth partners are still not allowed here, but apparently there's exceptions for births which includes foreigners so even if they don't officially allow birth partners when you go into labour, you might still be allowed on language grounds. It's made me feel a bit more relieved! I'd probably manage language-wise if the birth went as smoothly as my last, but you never know, and I just can't imagine coping with having to make complicated decisions about emergency interventions in a second language while in labour!

Was supposed to have another appointment this week, but it's been moved to next week and have to go on my own.

@sao81 28 babygros?? Sounds like you are addicted! Better hope you don't have a big baby Grin

sao81 · 01/04/2020 15:38

@purple29 aah thank you! It hadn't updated last time I checked but can see it has now!
@almostalwyn a mix of addicted, and a sister with no kids who had a worse shopping addiction than me 😂 I'm thinking of keeping a couple of packets unopened for now and donating them if not needed

Just placed a few orders for the hossie bag (for me) I think the fact that May is "next month" has given me a bit of a wake up call 😳😅 got some spanking new pjs to go in and some absolutely ginormous knickers 😍 some little toiletry bits and a nice new floaty light linen top to come home in that will cover my wobbly belly 🙌🏻 gotta look for the goods with all this bad xxx

november90 · 01/04/2020 22:11

Girls can I just ask, has anyone heard what would happen to our babies if we had the virus? For example would we not allowed to be around them for 7 days? Can we still breast feed?

Trying to look online but everything is so conflicting and just wondered if anyone had asked the question yet?

facevalue · 01/04/2020 22:26

@november90 check on here

sao81 · 01/04/2020 22:30

@Clairesoph snap! Amazon prime has been hammered the past 2 days but me and babs are both packed and ready to go! My friend said I'm mad packing a new pair of leggings and top but I said I want to have a little treat for after ive had the baby 😂 ordered some of that spritz for bits spray too I hope its as good as the reviews for £20!!

anyone else struggling with corona anxiety ... woke up and now can't sleep

november90 · 02/04/2020 06:31

@facevalue yes!!! I don't know why but these last few days I have been so worried.
The reality of having the virus when giving birth/having the baby has hit and I'm so worried about it :(

sao81 · 02/04/2020 07:53

@facevalue me, its terrifying me but I feel like im still glued to the news constantly its not doing me any good 😥 me and my daughter have been home for nearly 3 weeks now, I've only been out for midwife/click and collect, but my partner is still working every day and I'm terrified hes going to bring it home with him!

Raindancer411 · 02/04/2020 08:07

Yes it's starting to get to me too now. I had to go into hospital on Tuesday for a scan so am now anxious and watching myself for the next 7 days. Also I am not sure what it's going to be like in 6-7 weeks when I am getting closer to my due date.

woollycat · 02/04/2020 10:59

Silly question - does a carrycot need sheets? It comes with its mattress - I feel like it would be good to have some fitted sheets for it to keep the mattress clean. What do you think?

sao81 · 02/04/2020 11:51

@woollycat I always used a sheet on mine, the moses basket ones i found where ideal size for the carrycots

OP posts:
woollycat · 02/04/2020 12:18

@sao81 thanks! Will measure the carrycot and order the sheets accordingly.

Lu1u · 02/04/2020 12:21

@Sao81 I have done exactly the same new soft leggings and a t-shirt and new button up pyjamas! I really want to wear them now but they are in the hospital bag (plus my hospital snacks) so I don't go raiding for them 😂

sao81 · 02/04/2020 13:22

@Lu1u at least im not the only one! I've packed some snacks and im trying to forget about them because I keep eating out of boredom lately 😂

OP posts:
woollycat · 02/04/2020 15:11

What is everyone planning to wear for birth? I am thinking husband's tshirt - any better ideas?

Raindancer411 · 02/04/2020 15:19

First one I just wore the hospital gown lol This time I may go for a oversized tee shirt

Clairesoph · 02/04/2020 15:28

I took a cheap black primark nighty for my first but I couldn't bare to have anything touching me so ended up birthing in the buff 🤣
