@CharlieB93 can't say I did! But I didn't do so much preparation, just kind of pretended it wasn't happening. I got the last bits for my hospital bag the day before my due date, and went into labour that evening Grin

facevalue · 30/03/2020 19:33

the silence is deadly! 🥺

november90 · 30/03/2020 20:14

I was thinking before that it really won't be long off until we start seeing some baby announcements on here! I've been ordering some really sweet baby grows as I had nothing in newborn on Friday! I can't wait for them to come and get his little outfits sorted :)
Who's due early May?
My due date is 11th of May but I'll probably be earlier with having a section. I would love the 5th as that was my nannas birthday and it is also a repetitive number (😂) 05.05.2020... but I suppose that's out of my hands!

woollycat · 30/03/2020 20:23

Did anyone have a discount code / link for the hypobirthing digital pack please?

Sunshine8888 · 30/03/2020 20:27

I’m due 2nd May x

sao81 · 30/03/2020 20:39

I'm not due until 26th, but see the consultant in just over 3 weeks so will know more then as to if he will make an early arrival! I have my midwife appointment tomorrow, do you think she will be ok if I ask to record babies heartbeat? Just with having to attend alone itd be nice for my partner

Rebecca612 · 30/03/2020 20:51

I’m due 27th May but I’m having a csection 4 weeks early! Super excited and a little bit nervous now. Starting the final countdown to maternity leave is making it feel a lot more real despite working from home.

sao81 · 30/03/2020 20:54

@rebecca612 this was supposed to be my last week in work, i can't believe how fast it has came around!

Rebecca612 · 30/03/2020 21:07

It’s come around so quickly @sao81 ! I’m counting down the days but at the same time don’t want to wish it away. With everything going on at the moment though it’s something exciting and amazing to look forward to xx

november90 · 30/03/2020 21:45

Oh wow @Rebecca612 how come your section is booked so early? I reaaalyyy want a May arrival! I just think May is such a happy month :)
Has anyone else been taking a photo diary of their tummy? I was just looking back at mine. I can barely remember my pre pregnancy body 🙈

Rebecca612 · 30/03/2020 21:50

I’ve got an ovarian cyst that has grown HUGE over my pregnancy - currently so large it’s sitting under my ribs so they’re worried that we it might burst and could lead to severe heath problems so baby is coming out of the sun roof as well as the cyst hopefully. I’ve got my consultant appointment this week and hoping that I can get the section booked in for the first week of May Smile I’ve been taking a bump pic every month Grin

sao81 · 30/03/2020 21:56

@november90 I've been doing bump pics! This was yesterday, so 31+6 (i think?) I feel huuuuge 😂

Baby's room is as ready as it can be and I'm halfway through my hospital bag! Took a bump pic in the bath tonight at 32+3 feel MASSIVE

I'm due May 3rd. This was taken Sunday at 35 weeks exactly. Seeing consultant next week after my next growth scan. Baby was 5lb1oz at 32 weeks so it will be interesting to see what she is at 36 weeks. They may induce early if she's still huge. My last baby was 10lb4oz and I don't fancy another 10lb + baby!

Raindancer411 · 31/03/2020 04:30

I have my growth scan tmw to see how baby is doing. Am 33 weeks now! Worried about having to attend a hospital at this point with the virus 🦠

Rebecca612 · 31/03/2020 07:52

I’ve got my last growth scan tomorrow at 32 weeks. A bit sad that DH doesn’t get to see her in screen but not long and we’ll see her for real! @Raindancer411 don’t worry, the hospital I go to was spotless last week. All the staff had aprons, gloves and masks on and checked my temperature before I was allowed on the ward. They won’t let anyone in if they are showing symptoms so don’t fret.

Raindancer411 · 31/03/2020 08:10

@Rebecca612 Thanks, I wonder what it's going to be like up there when I go.

Emmacb82 · 31/03/2020 08:34

Due May 23rd here. Still haven’t heard from midwife throughout all of this and don’t know if my appointment in a couple of weeks will still be going ahead. I appreciate they are busy but just a text or call to check you’re ok would be nice with all the uncertainty x

woollycat · 31/03/2020 08:55

I am due May 21st, planning to continue working (from home) until either May 11th or 18th - we'll see if how it goes. My next appointment is April 22nd so ages to go. In other news got some size 1 nappies delivered by Amazon yesterday - at last! 😀

Caspianberg · 31/03/2020 09:06

Due May 2nd. Have 36 week scan tomorrow. Called doctor yesterday and he said its still on and Dh is allowed in to scan still. Maybe because its not in the hospital as they do up to 36 week scans here at local gp.

So far baby has always been measuring 2-3 weeks ahead, so will see what they say tomorrow.

Have pretty much all essentials now, so not too worried about store closures or deliveries.

Purple29 · 31/03/2020 10:04

Seeing all the bump pics is making me miss my bump. I know baby is here and it's amazing watching him grow but he should still be a bump!!

Cant believe hes 3 weeks old already. Hes still in hospital but doing so well. Putting on weight well.

Thankfully both me and dad still get to see him. Although cant be in at the same time. Some neonatal units are only allowing one named parent!!

Rebecca612 · 31/03/2020 11:11

@Purple29 great to hear that things are going well. Our NICU ward is the same - the baby has to have one visitor at a time so I’m praying she’s okay and doesn’t need to go in - I’m starting to feel sorry for my DH being constantly told that he can’t come to scans, appointments, visiting hours etc (although we both support the hospitals with their decisions and why).

Have you been told if there’s a date you can take little man home yet or taking it one day/week at a time?

Layladylay234 · 31/03/2020 14:07

Hi everyone, hope you're all doing ok in current situation. Can I urge everyone to read this comprehensive piece that has been published today. It covers home birth, birthing partners and quite a bit else. It's sympathetic to the situation midwives and obstetricians are in but it's also insistent that women's human rights should not be compromised without evidence behind these decisions.

Hope it helpsxx

@layladylay234 amazing thank you for sharing that, I needed that today (having a very tearful day). Hopefully the NHS listens to those recommendations xx
