I'm so constipated it's actually making me a little bit unhappy. Is there anything I can take? My tummy hurts...

EllieG - when I was pregnant with my ds a doc in the hospital told me to eat raisins to help with constipation, they worked great

Hope this helps and you feel better soon

x

lorisparkle · 10/09/2007 20:11

Gosh peachy you are doing really well to cope with all the sickness. hope you are feeling better soon. I'm just feeling soooo queezy and have lost 1/2 stone but am feeling thankful that I am not being sick.

hope everyone elses pregnancy niggles are not too bad.

I'm afraid that when i went into hospital in my last pregnancy I was about 11 weeks and they thought it might be ectopic. I think that they said between 5 and 11 weeks are the times when you know (although the 5 and 11 weeks are very unusual) Luckily it was not ectopic or appendixitus (sp) but the mystery stomach pains that troubled me throughout. I had a very healthy 8lb 11oz boy!

Thelittlesoldiersmummy · 11/09/2007 08:58

I have my scan today 7+2 I so hope all is ok am so worried I never slept last night

Soph73 · 11/09/2007 09:27

Morning all! Unfortunately I think I´m putting on weight for all of you - too embarrassed to tell you how much I´ve gained TLSM - good luck today I´ll be thinking of you, let us know how it went as soon as you can {{hug}} I´ve got my blood test tomorrow, yuk - still don´t like needles even after having DS.

Soph73 · 11/09/2007 09:27

Daftmoo - will have to try the raisins, see if they work for me

BabyBratt · 11/09/2007 10:11

Hi Guys

I am really struggling, I cannot keep any fruit down, I am instantly sick. I normally go to the gym but that has stopped because I am sick at night and in the morning. I think the sickness has helped though because I am 8 + 3 and I've only put 1lb on to date. I am taking vitamins so the baby should be ok.

I have to say I feel sorry for myself but when I come on a read some of the threads I am actually not that sick.

Today is my first day off in 2 weeks. I own a bridal shop so it is difficult to get time off. We went to the trade fair on Sunday and Monday. I felt terrible but I still managed to buy 16 new wedding dresses. They were gorgeous I love my job but it looks like I will only be 6 weeks maternity leave at the most.

Peachy · 11/09/2007 10:57

Babybratt, if youre being sick skip the fruit! At this stage just worry about what stays down, the rest will be OK.

modsaluk · 11/09/2007 11:23

I was constipated too, started to eat raisins, dates and prunes really seemed to help.

I am 11 + 1 today having scan next week, can not wait.

Good luck for those having scans.

loisstella · 11/09/2007 11:36

Hi guys, bit of a long message coming up....

Sorry to stress everyone out who suddenly thought they could ahve an etopic. For some reason I had convinced myself I probably had this... but NO WAY, we have a little winner inside, in the right place.

Went to Fetal Medical Centre in Harley street. Great place if anyone else is considering a private scan.

We tried over the tummy first, but I was so nervous I went to the loo about 7 times before we did the scan, so bladder was too empty to see. so we did an internal (sorry - TMI) which wasn't nearly half as bad as I feared. And there he was , my little bean.
He is a little small (the doctor thought it had the size of 7+2, rather than 8+1 but she said not to worry - it happens) - he had a glorious 158 bpm and so everything is good and great.
Now I can relax untill week 12. I feel way much more happier and the nagging feeling of insecurity has gone. Great stuff.

I told my team at work today because I have changed from a very hardworking energetic go-getter into a bit of a slow winge-r.

Hope everyone else is feleing well today and TLSM good luck with the scan today. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Thelittlesoldiersmummy · 11/09/2007 11:50

Loiss so glad all is ok and your scan whent well. My scan is at 1.40 and oh my god is this day going slow! i am so worried what happens if there is no heart beat oh please let my bud be ok

NoMoreHighHeels · 11/09/2007 11:52

Hello everyone!

I've been lurking for a few weeks and not posted as have felt a bit down (convinced everything was going to go wrong again - I'm ever the optomist!) Anyway, went for my booking in appt this am (yes I know it's late as I'm 11 weeks today)and all went well - heartbeat detected!! Dr thinks I'm a bit big (as in she can feel something she thinks may be further on than my dates) so tried to find 2 heartbeats...... OMG! Only found 1 though. As I've been woried, I've got a scan tomorrow so we'll see if it's 2 for the price of 1!

Don't feel so daft waering my early term jeans now!

Better 'out' myself to work now as nobody knows. Really wanted to wait to the magic 12 weeks and tell DS first then everyone else. My boss will keep it to herself though so it's only 1 extra person who'll know.

Hope everyone is feeling OK today.

Peachy · 11/09/2007 12:07

I have my booking appointment nomorehighheels and I'm due day after you, so not late at all (mind you I cancelled alst one rather than take the boys LOL)

NoMoreHighHeels · 11/09/2007 12:13

Peachy - glad I'm not the only slow coach!

Been reading about your sickness - so sorry you feel so rough. The 1st trimester finishing post is in sight now - let's hope you feel much better soon.

Peachy · 11/09/2007 12:15

Thanks actually not been sick OR medicated today!! very tired though and ahd to do a lot of work on my dissertation proposal for Uni so expect to feel it later.

Haven't been able to think about baby stuff or anything yet, am looking forward to that for the future. Ahve a girls name (very unlikely to be needed LOL), possibly a boys, thats about it though.

Rainbowdays · 11/09/2007 12:23

Hi all, Just popping in quickly to say hi. I am feeling sick and tired but coping. Sorry I can't catch up with everyone personally here, I am without home internet and it is driving me crazy. Hope I can get back to here again soon.

westerngirl · 11/09/2007 12:26

hello,

I was afraid to post before as I was afraid I would jinx it. Has scan yesterday, 11 weeks. One baby, not ectopic, heartbeat found. Looking at scan picture.

Is anyone else afraid to be excited..in case. Have next scan in 10 weeks time.

Can't believe I'm on the ante-natal thread. Yippee!

loisstella · 11/09/2007 12:34

WESTERNGIRL - I think if you have had your scan and everyhting is okay you can be as excited as you want... it's time to celbrate girl.

About first appointments - I did see my midwife and had a private scan yesterday but my first real appointment with blood and wee tests is not untill week 12. I've asked around and apparently no big deal if you're healthy (and I am actually overweight but my MW says I'm active and therefore not a risk) there really is no urgency to get things checked out early.
Just thuught I'd say this for the worryers amongst us (god knows I'm one!)

ejbax · 11/09/2007 12:48

I agree Loissetta.

I am 11 weeks today, and am still yet to see midwife, I was supposed to have an appointment with them last thursday, but they forgot to tell me... so when I rang to follow up on an appointment booking the m/w just booked me straight in for a scan on 28th September. And blood tests around week 16 tbc.

So it does feel as though it is all in my mind sometimes, especially with my symptoms lessening the past couple of days as I get closer to 12 weeks.

So have booked in for private 12 week scan next tues - for some reassurance before I tell everyone.

Just a matter of waiting otherwise.

I am really enjoying reading the posts and hope everyone is coping ok.

EllieG · 11/09/2007 13:51

Westerngirl, loisstella, nomorhighheels - HURARAY!!! Great news that beanies are safe and well

BabyBratt · 11/09/2007 14:14

I cannot wait to see a scan photo, I am seeing the doctor this evening so I am hoping he may be able to tell me more about everything.

I am pleased for all of you with good scans.

TLSM - I have everything crossed.

I am going to try raisins I love them so they will be a real treat.

F1ona · 11/09/2007 14:35

Hello I am another one due in April 08 (I think) waiting for the scan to confirm. I can recommend dried apricots and they have lots of iron so help if you are a bit aneamic.

mumzyof2 · 11/09/2007 14:45

Thats good to know, I was amaemic last pg, but waiting to see a midwie this time round, as im only 8 weeks, so not had bloods yet, and dont want to take iron supplements as theyre meant to b harmful if your not anaemic. Its a bloody minefield!
