congrats on scan, weird about 2 weeks behind! Yes, keep gatecrashing or just stay here and we could pretend

Soph73 · 01/10/2007 15:12

Things seem to have moved forward here since having DS. I´m having more blood taken on 22 Oct (Down´s Syndrome) and can have another scan. Have decided to cancel my private scan until beanies grown a little so we can get a nice piccie At least I can spend that 90 euros this month on clothes - haven´t told hubby yet

Soph73 · 01/10/2007 15:16

scorpio - not even the Dr could work it out really because I had regular periods. All she could think it was was that DH´s swimmers held on until right at the last minute - always knew he was a lazy bleeder at heart I think I will stay on this thread and pretend as long as everyone else agrees {{grovels profusely}}

lemonaid · 01/10/2007 15:31

Stay with us, Soph! A friend at work was due 10 October and managed to give birth just in September on Sunday night, so if you followed suit you'd be giving birth in April anyway .

Thelittlesoldiersmummy · 01/10/2007 15:31

Soph its likely quite a few of us will end up having our buds in May especially us down at the bottom so I would say stay where you are

ToastAddict · 01/10/2007 15:32

Yay, stay with us Soph

Really pleased to hear about your shimmying beanie

Soph73 · 01/10/2007 15:39

Aahhh thanks feeling very loved now. Got to go to a meeting so will see you all tomorrow

EllieG · 01/10/2007 16:06

Yey about shimmying soph! Stay with us we would miss you x

scorpio - I am getting hairy too. Have weird hair on tummy and round nipples (?) and in various other places. Plus normal hair is hairier too, but my mate says not to worry it all falls out.

Is anyone else finding it hard to sleep even though they're really tired? I am knackered but last few nights just lie there, or sleep really lightly, which is SO not me.

OP posts:
ToastAddict · 01/10/2007 16:11

Sleeping terribly at the moment Takes ages to get to sleep and then wake up at the slightest sound/movement. When I woke up this morning, dh wasn't there - had retreated to the sofa as I was so wriggly apparently!
And absolutely knackered today

Confess to having plucked a few nipple hairs out

TheMaskedPosTERROR · 01/10/2007 16:20

ahh yes - I am getting a hairy tummy too, I thought it might have been all my rubbing of my belly stimulating the hairs to grow .

Just took dd to ballet and a friend informed me that I had that 'lovely blooming in pregnancy' look! Told her what a good friend she was (as I suspect she was saying it to be nice as I certainly don't feel 'bloomy').

Congrats on your scan Soph73 and I agree with everyone that you should definitely stay with us April lot!

scorpio1 · 01/10/2007 16:31

I too am finding sleeping hard-very tired but canot get comfy, then i wake to wee...the list doth carry on! Me and Dp are having a nice night in tonight, so hoping sleep will come well after that!

Oh and dont pull the nipple hair out!it gets worse

Daftmoo · 01/10/2007 16:35

re: weight gain, I know...I have serious doubts about my gp

As for stretchmarks, I've bought some of that 'green baby' cream from Bloomin'Marvellous, I tried lots of different ones when I was expecting ds and I still ended up with a stomach resembling a cattle grid. I just hope they dont get worse.

Great news about your scan Soph73 , hope you stick about in this months thread.

x

lemonaid · 01/10/2007 16:38

We'll just call you "end of April" on the list, Soph, so that you don't feel like you're cheating

Lorayn · 01/10/2007 17:10

Soph I was due 5th jan for DS(2) and had him 29th DEC, and due jan 7th for DD(6) and had her 24th november so who is to know???
You cant possibly leave us now, or we'll hunt you down to the may thread and tell them all you're a deserter

rdk · 01/10/2007 17:56

just to let u all know i had scan today and im really happy everything was fine, seen heart beat . that weekend went so slow as on friday just gone midwife couldnt hear any hb, so all went well today thank god

Piccalilli2 · 01/10/2007 17:56

I've got through half a bottle of Bio Oil already, I'm sure it makes zero difference but my stretchmarks with dd were awful so I'll try anything this time. I've put on 2 or 3 llbs so far (13 wks exactly) so I guess that's OK - by this point with dd I'd put on nearly a stone I seem to recall.

Definitely stay with us Soph73 - I was 16 days late with dd so if you're even a little bit early you may well end up having yours before me anyway!

lorisparkle · 01/10/2007 18:47

I was very lucky and did not get stretch marks with DS1 except for a few silver marks on the very top of my hips. When I said this to my mum she said that she was exactly the same so the genetic theory sounds about right in my experience.

As for weight gain I heard that it is all to do with how much you need to gain. So if you are underweight you may need to gain 3 stone, if you are overweight then a stone and 2 if you are that unusual 'average'. BUT it is so individual. I have read though that you do not need to eat anything extra until the last trimester as your body becomes much more adept at using the nutrients from what you eat due in part to the rather sluggish digestion. My theory is to eat what I fancy as there is usually some reason behind it. At the moment it is anything high in vitamin C and lots of carbohydrates.

Talking about weight gain did you hear about the 17lb baby!!!!!

Daftmoo · 01/10/2007 19:01

That's lovely news Rdk

Does anyone know whether or not you get the results of the nuchal scan/blood test on the same day that you have it?

x

lemonaid · 01/10/2007 19:20

I got the nuchal results on the spot, but I didn't have the blood test.

Doingitallagain · 01/10/2007 20:30

I got my nuchal scan results including the bloods on the same day I had the scan, but that was only cos I'd been in for my blood taking the week before, IYSWIM. If I'd had my bloods taken on the same day as I had my scan, they'd have given me my scan results there and then, but then would have contacted me later with a revised risk once the blood had been tested. Does that make sense? It doesn't seem to when I read it back!

Peachy · 02/10/2007 10:18

Yay- finally got a scan date- 10th october! now, that does mean i'll be past 15 weeks LOL, so its a good job i don't want screening (have a nagging fear that they're getting me in then to try and discuss with me more forcibly- have been subject to similar in the past re amnio), but at least i'll be able to check the baby is OK in the sense of viable which is my main concern (having thrown up all my folic acid pills).

Lorayn · 02/10/2007 10:20

Finally peachy!!!! yay!!

How have you been with your sickness lately??
I thought mine was finally easing up but have been getting worse againwas so bad last night I actually wet myself whilst vomiting , and then cried, and then vomited more, and then cried!

Peachy · 02/10/2007 10:26

Lorayn you poor soul- I know its TMI but i've ahd the weting too, its traumatic isn't it? is there anything that could have triggered it- were you tired or anything?

I was sick yesterday fro the first time since Thursdday (!), but i think it was because ds3 was sick and my sense of smell is so sharp that it was a nightmare to clean up. Am hoing it was a blip for nboth of us?

Hugs XXX

eva07 · 02/10/2007 13:02

poor lorayn. hope you feel better real soon!!

Soph73 · 02/10/2007 13:52

Afternoon all. Will definitely stay here then The Dr must be wrong IMO as 2 wks out seems a bit much maybe this one´s just going to be little Peachy - well done on getting a scan date at last Pleased to hear everything OK rdk On the stretch mark front, only got a couple with DS but can already see a couple forming on my hips with this one
