OK - am going to take the plunge and start one...anyone coming?

Molly they can't id Downs Syndrome from a scan, they can look for amrkers that may be indicative but it takes an amnio to make a diagnosis, usually done after blood tests at around 16 weeks

Does anyone know whether they can tell you the gender if you have a CVS? Has anyone had one?

Hi everyone, just got back from my scan. Very very pleased to say everything is fine

Little one was wriggling round loads, got some great pics. You can tell I'm new to all this, I am just gobsmacked that at only 4cm long, you can see eyes, nose and mouth Amazing stuff

So, happy to add my details below. Bit confused at the dates - when I saw the m/w she used my last scan dates and her little wheel and came up with April 22, whereas I'd used the same dates and the internet and got April 20. Today, they dated me at 11 weeks, whereas I thought I was 10+5, so I think that puts me back to April 20???

Either way, I don't actually care! April is going to be an interesting month whatever the day!!! I actually feel confident now. In fact - OMG, I'm having a baby! Starting to get quite scared!!!!

Well, that's enought from me. BTW, I've taken modsaluk off the list as she's defected over to the March thread with her twins....

Congrats Toastaddict. I am sitting here looking at my scan photo now! Aarrghhh. Have to say I am not big fan of pregnancy though so looking forward to April. Ths will definately be the last one

They do that with my dates, too, ToastAddict. Using the little wheel thing the mw has my due date as 4 April but says that I am 13+3. Using the same LMP date on the computer the ultrasound woman has my due date as 1 April but agrees that I am 13+3 (and similarly with the Internet).

I'm just going to go with the flow. Eventually they'll write a date on my MATB1 form and that will be my official due date, and the baby will arrive when he or she feels like it.

I've eaten two doughnuts this afternnon and have a large bar of milky bar for after dinner tonight...... yum! Still getting really nauseous but no cikness for a few dy- fingers crossed!

Eek, I'm 13+3 today and went to the fishmongers, I asked about spider crab and the guy (who I'd never seen before) said 'but you're pregnant, aren't you? so you shouldn't eat seafood'. They can tell I'm pregnant at 13 weeks!

Can someone please add me to the list? I'm due (calendar) 6th April or (scan) 31st March.

Does anyone on this thread run? I used to run regularly all last year. I stopped when I got my positive stick early August.

I now feel very lardy and sluggish. Am I mad? I'm old - 41 - so time is not on my side. I feel this pregnancy is so precious I should treat it like a high risk one. On the other hand my body feels so good from running. Any experience?

westerngirl, I think the usual advice is that any exercise you used to do can be continued but you shouldn't take up any new ones. Irrelevant to me as a born couch potato!

Westerngirl - I used to ride my horse and walk regularly, but now that I'm pg have decided to take it easier. I've suffered 2 m/c so really want to give this pg the best chances, so if that means being lazy so be it.

I've been suffering with a few twinges in my side this evening which don't seem to want to go away - anyone else? Sure it's me just panicking!

I'm not having remarkable dreams worth telling you about, but for months after I had ds, I would half wake up in the night and scrabble around the bed, dh's chest, the freestanding uplighter or anywhere really, yelling 'where's the baby? where's the baby?'!! He was always safe in his cot, we'd never even actually had him in our bed at all!

Bumpkin - I had (and am still having) pains and twinges. I too previously suffered a m/c and although I know the pains ae real I think I worried about them even more due to the previous experience.

If you are not bleeding or in excessive pain just try and rets and take things easy - I found sitting in a nice warm bath helps! If your feeling that bad contact your doctor and try and get referred to the EPU to put your mind at rest.

Is it normal to have horrid heartburn to just suddenly start up quite randomly? I thought symptoms were supposed to be dying down now but mine seem to be getting worse last couple days. Plus (sorry if TMI) am, um, the opposite of constipated, shall we say. Is this OK?

Just updating my edd - after my 12 week scan they've moved me forward to the 1st April. Also paid privately for a nuchal scan - was given risk of 1 in 22,000 for downs. At age 40, it was 1 in 95 before scan and bloods, so think it was worth the expense - feel I can breathe a bit easier now. April here we come!!

Hi

Last week the scan dated me at 11+4, which is what i thought, but EDD the 11th instead of 12th as book says? I have a dating scan on thursday so im using that date as the date, IYSWIM!

Hope everyone is well? I can't believe im 12 weeks pg now, this is flying!

Anyone have any names ready or ideas? Me and DP don't decide on names very well together and always have stupid arguements about it
