Oh yes and chipmonkey and loryn - glad it's not only me who's massive. Everyone keeps guessing am PG this week and am getting v depressed cos they shouldn't be able to yet. One woman said 'Goodness I didn't start showing til I was about 20 weeks' implication 'ooh aren't you a podgy one!'.

I'm just coming on here to whinge! No one in RL knows I am pg and I'm finding the days are just DRAGGING until my first scan. It's not till 8 Oct and I just keep thinking I'm going to get there and the sonographer won't be able to find a baby. Just can't wait to get to that date!
Is anyone else finding it hard to summon the energy to look after their other children? My dd is 18 months and I'm finding it really hard preparing her meals and finding the nappy-changing just AWFUL!!!

Morning all. Am also getting heartburn, which I didn´t get at all with DS. Welcome windupbird, my scan is on the 8th & I have this recurring nightmare they say "no, nothing there it´s just wind!" I´m massive too & really worried that on the 8th they tell me there´s 2 in there

My not be wise... I still have dreams of hunting down the midwife who told me that as DS was such a big baby he'd sleep through early. HAH!

Rdk good luck for today my thoughs are with you x

I have had horrid craps over the last few days doesnt help I have a chest infection

My next scan is not until 15th Oct I was thinking looking at other threads mybe we should start putting more detail on the date log like where we are from next scan how many DC we already have makes it easier to get to know each other as we have a nine month stretch together

Talking about dreams mine have been ok but my DH are another story he dreamt the other night that he had the baby in a straw bag and was going though a wood to hims mothers to show her when he got there the bag was empty and he noticed a whole at the bottom! he ran back into the woods and saw a cat eating the baby! now thats a dream lol!

Hi everyone. Thought I'd say hello. Thanks to all for being so supportive when I was miserable. Much better now, and resigned to my fate after much soul searching. I can even think of some positives - my dd will love having a sibling. Got the date for my scan this morning, so everything feels a bit more real too.
So sorry that some of you are feeling so crap still - I can't wait to feel blooming!
Does anyone remember if needing to pee in the night passes at 12 weeks - or do I have to get up twice a night for the next seven months? (And even more after that...)

Well am approaching 14 weeks now- and guess what (art from still no scan LOL)- I swear I can feel baby! Thought I was imagining it but checked and for subsequent pg's its not unknown

Really peachy?? thats lovely, I had a split second the other night when I thought I felt baby, but couldnt see how it was possible (I am around 12 and a bit weeks)
I think what I felt was something else, but it did remind me of that lovely feeling I'm going to get soon, yay!!!

Sagitta my friend who is 21 weeks told me the constant needing to pee passes but I have still been getting up twice in the night lately....it's rubbish! Maybe it's my punishment for not doing enough exercise ;)

Lulabell79 - I live in Aberdeen and we get 2 scans on the NHS, 1 at 12 weeks and then again at 20 weeks - do you only get one in Edinburgh? Looks like another typical example of the NHS postcode lottery

Hi Kirbo - yep, only get 1 in Edinburgh at 12 weeks...unless they feel you need another one for some reason. Should have maybe done some research and made a strategic move before conceiving

Woah, lulabel, I really cannot believe that, the 20 week scan is more important than the 12 week!!! You should look into it and push for a second scan, the first one is just to confirm it is there and edd etc, the second is more for any problems.

I thought the first scan at week 12 was to identify any problems particularly downs. What sort of problems can the identify at 20 weeks?

i'm also getting up a lot in the night to pee

The twenty week scan is the anomaly scan, where they check everything is growing proportionately etc.

Lemonaid - Dp took him to the docs the following morning, she seemed to think it was a mild case of chickenpox (joy), I'm yet to be convinced though Anyway, she said to keep him off school the rest of the week and I was have minimal contact with him (yeah right)...sooooo for the last 4 days dp has been off work looking after ds and I've been under house arrest in the spare room with just my laptop for company. Ds's spots..all 7 of them look alot smaller now and are scabbing over...and tomorrow I shall be free !!!!

The good thing is ds hasnt actually been ill with it at all....no high temps, nothing, just pesky spots.
