Hi everyone, I've added myself to the list too. First time mum and due at the start of April. Was a bit of a shock but DH and myself really excited now. Had our 12 week scan last week which was brilliant - feel less stressed about things now. Baby had hiccups! Still feeling exhausted all the time but hopefully that will pass soon!

Hi lullabell Great to hear your scan went well. The exhaustion does pass and then you actually feel like doing stuff again

Mollyfloss · 27/09/2007 14:29

Hi everyone,

I have a question and would love your feedback. I will be 12 weeks on Saturday and my nausea and fatigue has become more manageable over the past few days to the point where it is pretty much non-existent today. I am just a little tired. Are any of you around the week 11 or 12 stage feeling much better? I had a scan at week 8 and everything was fine. My next scan is next week. I'm quite nervous though as the last time I was pregnant I found out at my week 12 scan that I had a missed miscarriage, although that time the symptoms disappeared at just before 9 weeks. iw oudl love to know how others at week 11 or 12 are feeling....

micegg · 27/09/2007 14:33

Hi,

My nausea/diziness and tiredness started redusing from about 11 weeks. I am 13 weeks tomorrow and still get nausea a few times a week but its fairly mild now.

I had my scan yesterday - all well. So have told a few peole at work and the remaining friends that we hadnt told. Also saw the midwife who for some reason thinks I am anaemic. I shoudl find out next week.

Best of luck to you all.

Mic

PS
EDD changed to 04/04/08 from 06/04/08.

TheMaskedPoster · 27/09/2007 14:39

Mollyfloss - yes, I am/was very similar (I am 12 +6 today), and from the beginning of last week (11+2) I started feeling better. In fact I even had 2 days when I felt absolutely fine all day and proclaimed to many that my nausea had passed, only to have it come back - although not as bad as it was.

I am now pretty good - but still a bit nauseaus in the evenings but generally ok. I think this is a general time for some women to start losing the sicky feeling.

I understand your nervousness too as it is a very emotional and scary time, just try to relax and drink lots of fluids etc.

Good luck for your scan next week - what day is it?

xx

Lorayn · 27/09/2007 14:41

Same here, I had HG, and was unable to keep even fluids down, but I have really improved the last week or two (was 12 weeks yesterday) I still have good days and bad days, and good foods and bad foods, but it is getting a lot better. Am getting back to the waking in the night for a wee now as I am not dehydrated anymore.
Speaking of which where is peachy ???
How's your HG faring???

TheMaskedPoster · 27/09/2007 14:42

oh - congrats on your scan micegg

smcg · 27/09/2007 14:43

Hi Mollyfloss. I never had any morning sickness at all and really haven't felt that tired either. I had an 8 week scan and all was fine, I have the 12 week scan next week. Try not to worry, though I know it is hard.

lemonaid · 27/09/2007 14:46

It is pretty normal. At around this point the placenta is fully up and running and your hCG levels start to drop. And as it's hypothesised that hCG is responsible for much of the early pregnancy yukkiness typically you start to feel a lot better as well.

Kirbo · 27/09/2007 14:47

Thought my Morning sickness had dissapeared at the weekend and felt great and actually like a human for the first time in weeks, only for it to come back on Monday and Tue worse than ever (had to take time off of work it was so bad). Now it seems like it is every couple of days with a few days off.
I'm 11+2 and don't have my scan for another 2 weeks (which can't come quick enough).

Soph73 · 27/09/2007 15:15

Kirbo - when´s your scan, mines on the 8th Oct. Have you already had one? I haven´t & the time just seems to be dragging. Keep having this recurring nightmare that I´ll get there and the gynae will say I´m not pregnant it´s just wind

Soph73 · 27/09/2007 15:17

Mollyfloss - can´t comment really as haven´t suffered from morning sickness. Just wanted to say hi Good luck for the scan, can´t wait for mine.

Mollyfloss · 27/09/2007 15:17

Thanks for all your feedback. It's reassuring to know others have had the same experience at this stage. I just really started to think about it as before lunch I was starving but at the same time not nautious and actually able to wait for my lunch. Usually I would be exetremely nautious and need to eat biscuits or something just to stop myself from feeling like I was dying. We're never happy I guess. The morning sickness is such a nightmare but as soon as it goes the worry sets in. I guess I won't be able to relax fully until I have my scan which is on Wednesday.

Kirbo · 27/09/2007 15:47

Soph73 - Scan is on 11th October and it will be our first. Where I live there isn't any hospitals that do private scans unless we wanted to travel to Glasgow/Edinburgh to get one done. BF and I decided that since it is our first pregnancy and that there hasn't been any bleeding to just wait and hope that everything will be OK at the first scan. I have been very jealous of everyone else on this thread having scans and seeing how their lo's are getting on Speaking of reocurring dreams - I keep dreaming that I give birth to a cat! The worst part is that no one really seems to care that i've given birth to a cat and all act normally

ToastAddict · 27/09/2007 16:11

Thanks to everyone for your support when I was feeling crappy! Feeling much better now, just want tomorrow's scan to be over and OK

Mollyfloss - I am 10+4 and for the last few days have been able to eat an evening meal, a first for a few weeks. My nausea isn't so constant, which is good, but is really bad when I do get it

I would normally have been worrying about loss of symptoms BUT I have developed a new one - really really bad heartburn. Earlier on in the pg I got this occasionally, at night - now I wake up with it in the morning, have it all day and still at night Am drinking Gavsiscon like there's no tomorrow!!

Good luck to everyone who has scans soon

xx

lemonaid · 27/09/2007 16:13

I'm getting heartburn too. I'm sure with DS I didn't get it until late in the second trimester / early in the third, but I've had it for a few weeks already.

rdk · 27/09/2007 18:37

hi ladies just to let u know today the stuff i was getting went pink in colour so went down to see midwife at doctors and she said wait till monday for the scan to make sure all was well but whilst i was there she did listen for the heart beat and couldnt find one but said it will be cause im only 10+3
has anyone here heared the heatbeat early

Lorayn · 27/09/2007 18:40

same here lemonaid, I remember getting it quite far in with the other two, was shocked it came so soon.

Peachy · 27/09/2007 18:47

Hiya

having good days and bad days with the HG- made a mistake of drinking water (shock!) yesterday and threw up all day, but a good day today- had to take myself off to cardiff and by bigger maternity eans as this bump is worryingly large for my dates (which I know are right).... having a history of small babies would be pleased, except as my notes got lost = no scan petrified its twins LOL

Bought a lovely utfot for my nephew due in 5 weeks, and a small suit for this one- bought a blue change mat as well LOL, so Dh rolling his eyes at me going 'It oculd be a girl you know'- yeah right LOL. Normally wouldn't buy stuff pre-scan but if notes don't amke it there soon may not get one until 22 weeks as they'll skip the 12 week one at some point.

Additinal stress as ds1 under threat of exclusion from school (sigh- sn related as ever) but I am feeoing somewhat better, I think.

RDK- hope all's OK, fingers crossed for you.

Dreams- ah yes, had loads last night. I know some were scary but can't remember much about them, did dream of wraps amde with chocy cake and chicken (!!!!) the other day however!! ANd lemonade- and afterwards I bought lemonade and I CAN DRINK IT! YAY!

LAst night I also dreamed I was sleeping with Ian from easteNders and that it was a good thing , deeply concerned aboutt hat LOL!

lemonaid · 27/09/2007 18:54

I've never been able to hear the heartbeat until 13 weeks, or very nearly 13 weeks.

Lorayn · 27/09/2007 20:16

What is it about eastenders? I dreamt carly caught me telling everyone she was gonna kiss sean and then he walked in as if I'd predicted it
I'm no good with water either peachy, think it's because I'm so bloody thirsty still that I drink it too fast, but with fizzy drinks I can't. Same with certain foods, cannot eat mashed potato but yorkshire pudding is easy peasy!
At least we are both getting some good days, makes you feel slightly less drained when the bad days come.
rdk, try not to worry, I know its hard but fingers x it will all be fine. xxx

Daftmoo · 27/09/2007 20:27

I'm giggling about Ian from Eastenders, I had a dream I slept with Sylvester Stallone...the old ewwww Sylvester Stallone and I was soooo in love with him.

I woke up needing therapy...or a slap !!

lemonaid · 27/09/2007 21:28

I had a dream early on that I'd slept with Owen Wilson and someone else (couldn't remember who after I'd woken up but suspect it was another actor). Now I feel I got a very good deal, dream-wise...

chipmonkey · 27/09/2007 23:44

Kirbo, one of my colleagues on a course I was on recently said that when she was pg with her ds she dreamt she gave birth to a rabbit. She was distraught but in the dream her Dad kept saying "But it's a very nice rabbit!"

chipmonkey · 27/09/2007 23:46

BTW, Peachy, I'm bigger than I should be for my dates but I had a scan and there's deffo only one there![relieved emoticon]
