ha, I have a book for each of my children, the first one I filled out til about a year and a half, the second til about 6 months, good intentions and all that

Soph73 · 24/09/2007 09:48

I have a book called 'Letter for Tomoorow' and it has spaces in it to write your feelings and what is going on in your life.

I think it really helped me get through the first 12 weeks as it acted as a sort of stress reliever just getting my emotions out. Hopefully when my child can read it it can realise how much it was oved and wanted right from the begining!

EllieG · 24/09/2007 11:04

That sounds nice - where did you get that?

OP posts:
Lorayn · 24/09/2007 11:09

I like the thought of that too, we saw a kind of diary when we bought the baby book which has a page per day, I might go back and pick it up.

lemonaid · 24/09/2007 11:16

Had my nuchal scan today. All good, baby measuring on track, ornery little whatsit (what, my child? Surely not...) so had to do lots of undignified wobbling and shaking to be able to take the nuchal measurement. Nuchal results puts the chances of DS down from 1 in 235 based on my being old to 1 in 1200 or so, which is pretty darn good IMO.

Eek. Now we start telling people. And I get big "OMG are we ready to have another baby?" wobbles...

EllieG · 24/09/2007 11:35

That's nice news lemon x

lemonaid - great to hear that Can I be really cheeky & ask how old you are? I will probably get offered an amniosentesis (sp?!) because of my age but DH and I have agreed that we won´t take the offer up.

lemonaid · 24/09/2007 11:42

35, so not ancient yet, but starting to drift into the age group where medical professionals suck their teeth at you...

Daftmoo · 24/09/2007 11:55

That's brilliant news Lemonaid, I'm just 33 and having my Nuchal scan next tues, I must admit I'm scared silly.

x

splishsplosh · 24/09/2007 11:56

Just saying goodbye, as i had a scan this morning, and it's shown I'm in the middle of miscarrying.

I think that's about 6 of us now on this thread, so hopefully that takes care of statistics and the rest of you will be fine.

I must admit I'm envious of you all, I hope you all go on to enjoy trouble free pregnaancies til you meet your babies next spring.

Lorayn · 24/09/2007 12:01

Oh splishsplosh I am so sorry sweetheart.

Splishsplosh and ejbax - so sorry.

lemonaid · 24/09/2007 13:23

So sorry, splishsplosh. No matter how much you think you are prepared to hear the worst, it still hurts.

Soph73 · 24/09/2007 13:24

splishsplosh - so sorry sweetheart {{hugs}}

Thelittlesoldiersmummy · 24/09/2007 13:26

splishsplosh so sorry to hear all is not well good luck for the future x

Soph73 · 24/09/2007 13:29

lemonaid - I´m 34 but quite lucky here at the mo because there seems to be a glut of "older" pregnant ladies at my health centre. Although, in general the Canarians don´t seem to do that teeth-sucking thing if you´re an older mum

pad · 24/09/2007 13:50

Hi everyone. I am so sorry to those who have had bad news and my thoughts are with you all it must be so incredibly hard.
I am still feeling so crap I am 11 weeks today and not due for my first scan until next Friday. It feels like I have been pregnant for so long because I have felt so rough it feels weird I still have not had any real confirmation yet?!I hope things are ok and my only consolation of still feeling bad is that things must still be ok in there if you know what I mean! Is anyone else sleeping really badly? I wake up loads in the night and just can't get back to sleep.I am so tired...

Soph73 · 24/09/2007 14:04

pad - I know exactly how you feel re sleeping. Just can´t seem to get comfortable (am only 10+3). My scan isn´t until next Monday & just keep panicking & wondering whether everything´s OK. I´m also getting really bad stomach aches regularly which also makes me panic. Roll on next Monday

EllieG · 24/09/2007 14:20

So sorry splishslposh x

loisstella · 24/09/2007 15:25

So sorry to hear the news SplishSplosh....
Hope you get another and this time straightforward and healthy chance soon.
will miss you on here.

loisstella · 24/09/2007 15:27

soph - I get weird cramps too, especially when I stretch... scary.
Being a first timer I guess makes us react to all symptoms with a quesiton mark.
My 12 week scan is a week after yours - but couldn;t wait that long so booked another private one for tomorrow just to see my bean is okay before I jet off to NYC.

Soph73 · 24/09/2007 15:34

loisstella - this is my 2nd but didn´t get these cramps with DS. I couldn´t get a scan any earlier which is a real bummer. All scans are private here as the health service only offers one at about 24/26 weeks - weird!
