I dont feel up to getting off my chair!!! Let alone flying anywhere, am waiting for my doctor to call me back and am actually hoping now that I do have to go into hospital, just to get some rest!
Thank God it's the weekend tomorrow and dp will be home, if he thinks he is spending all day washing his car he has got another think coming!

Mollyfloss · 21/09/2007 11:50

Hi everyone, I'm back after a couple of weeks. Muddyboots, I am so so sorry. I had a missed mc in May also after seeing a heartbeat at an earlier scan. It is devastating but I am glad to hear you are staying strong. Best of luck for the future.

Glad to hear everyone else is doing well. I have basically been sick non stop for the past couple of weeks and sleeping a lot. It seems to be getting a bit more manageable but only slightly or maybe I am just getting used to being like this. Nothing fits anymore and I'm in maternity jeans. I didn't think I was supposed to put on that much weight in the first trimester! Does anyone have any good suggestiosn of where to get nice maternity clothes in London?

ToastAddict · 21/09/2007 12:03

muddyboots - so so sorry to hear your news. Thinking of you {{{{{hugs}}}}}}}

splishsplosh - I know it is hard to wait but I think it is best you wait til Monday. Hopefully everything will settle down over the weekend, and Monday's scan will confirm everything is fine. If you had a scan today, and it showed all was well, maybe you would worry over the weekend that you were scanned too early? Or maybe that's just the way my brain works.

I can also join the miserable gang of "bleeders" - happened once this morning and was a complete shock!
I reckon it's round the time that my period would have been due, and apparently some women get a bit of bleeding then. Shall take it easy this weekend, if I get any more I shall try to get a scan for next week

On a positive note - congrats on the twins modsaluk!! Hope it all goes well for you

lorisparkle · 21/09/2007 12:11

muddyboots - so sorry, I can't imagine how you are feeling but I am crying just thinking about it

Sounds like lots of people are having a rough time. I think the first trimester is the worst. You don't look pregnant, don't always tell people you are pregnant, but feel like cr*p.

One of the teachers at my school has just had a baby and she had sickness through out her pregnancy but the teaching assistant in her class who is due in a month or so has had NO pregnancy niggles. Don' you just want to slap her!!

I'm fairly lucky just nausia, occasionally sick, but with back ache. I think that most people have the sickness / exhaustion until about the 14/15 week mark when the placenta takes over the work.

loisstella · 21/09/2007 12:19

Mollyfloss I browsed around Crave on the Kingsroad a few weeks ago - they're online too. www.cravematernity.co.uk
and have bought a few things from Isabella Oliver (online) I love their stuff.

Pretty pregnant (loving that name) in Battersea is meant to be good too. I believe they're also online.

Mollyfloss · 21/09/2007 12:23

Thanks for the tips. I heard about Crave but not the other two. Will go to them asap!

Is anyone who has been sick for the past few week feeling any better? I will be 11 weeks tomorrow and have heard that you start to feel better by week 12.

Daftmoo · 21/09/2007 12:59

I'm so sorry Muddyboots ((((hugs))))

Lorayn - Poor you, I had HG when I was expecting my ds, it's horrid. I was admitted a few times to hospital to be rehydrated and remembering feeling that is was such a relief to be looked after, I was getting all the fluids I needed via I.V and I felt so much better. I was sick all the way through my pregnancy but by 5 months it wasnt as bad and I could tell the foods which were going to make me sick straight after eating them. I hope you feel better soon. You have my sympathy.

Modsaluk - congrats on your news, how exciting

Dp and I are off out tonight, ds is having a sleepover at his friends so we're going to make the most of it, cinema then out for a meal....tempted to go for a curry, anything to help my constipation

hope everyone is feeling ok today

x

Lorayn · 21/09/2007 13:03

Go for an indian!! I went for one last weekend it was the only thing I have kept down in weeks, it was delicious!!

Lorayn · 21/09/2007 18:04

Finally got to the doctors, I am dehydrated but apparently not enough to need hospitalization, yet!
I have been given some tablets to hopefully ease the sickness, if these don't work I have to go to the after hours service and just keep an eye on my hydration levels.

Lorayn · 22/09/2007 11:42

Had scan this morning, everything is fine but seems my doc and midwife have taken down different LMP dates and I'll be buggered if I can remember now, anyway the docs date and the scan matched up perfectly so am now due on the 11th april.

splishsplosh · 22/09/2007 14:46

Went to my midwife booking in appointment this morning - I'm still bleeding quite a bit, and I will be truly astonished if things are OK with lo. The midwife tried to find the heartbeat just in case she could give some reassurance, but she couldn't - however, she also said that doesn't mean much as they often can't until 14 weeks.

I'm trying to come to terms with the fact that things have gone wrong, rather than holding on to crumbs of optimism. But hey - you never know I suppose.

Have a horrible cold to make me feel even more miserable, but dp has helped out with dd, and now taken her out for the afternoon, so I can take it easy.

Peachy · 22/09/2007 14:53

Lorayn what did they give you?

Lorayn · 22/09/2007 16:36

Buccastem, they melt under your top lip/gum (after an hour or so), but taste yucky, and make me feel even more sick!!

ejbax · 22/09/2007 18:41

Hi All

Just a quick note to say goodbye and goodluck.

Sadly I m/c at 12 weeks on Tuesday, ended up being ambulanced to hospital as I haemorraged (sp) and had an operation on wednesday. Now very anemic and on iron supplements but feeling stronger every day.

Wishing you all the best. ejbax

EllieG · 23/09/2007 08:55

So sorry ejbax. Am thinking of you x

Ejbax- sad for your news

hugs

Peachy · 23/09/2007 13:11

Lorayn- I had buccastem, they're stemetil I beleive, which in itself is very good (al;so ahd it as an injection) but I experienced the same as you in terms of making me feel mroe sick- think its the way they work rather than the med effect. Clearly remember having to dash out of a friends baptism after trying to take one- nasty!. If they continue to amke you feel worse, do go back, theere are otehr things you can try

Lorayn · 23/09/2007 17:19

The doc said as much peachy, but the sickness seems to be calming down without them, I managed to eat a full dinner last night and breakfast this morning, granted I was sick about an hour later, but beforehand I couldnt even attempt it!

NoMoreHighHeels · 23/09/2007 19:38

Hello everyone. Not posted for a few days but have been keeping tabs on the goings on. So sorry to all of you who aren't continuing on the journey with us - I know what you are going through right now. It's a rollercoaster of emotions. Take everyday as it comes - you will come out of it the other side.

Glad to hear some of you are feeling a bit better on the sickness front. I'm really lucky as I have never had MS but was only saying to DH tonight that it must be really horrible to feel like that and it to last so long - my sympathy ladies!

Must say I feel a lot better now I'm past 12 weeks. Bit less tired and food is a bit more appealing. I think now my 'secret' is out (we've started telling people) I feel less stressed about trying to keep it hidden. We told DS less weekend and he was soooooo excited about having a brother/sister!

I think a midwife tried to call me today but only left her name and number on the answerphone. She said she couldn't say anymore for confidentiality reasons.....? Got me a bit worried but I'm sure it's routine - I suppose she can't disclose anything if it's relating to medical stuff. Any thoughts?

Peachy · 23/09/2007 19:43

MW sounds a bit odd but sure its policy where you are.

We ahd a lovely surprise today.... got up to find ds1 (and he is the one with high functioning autism) had amde a card with a drawing of a lady showing a baby in her tummy, with I LOVE BABY written on it! - thats Huge! Have put it away fro the baby book.

NoMoreHighHeels · 23/09/2007 19:49

That is so sweet! I just hope these enthusiastic siblings don't run out of steam by April!

chipmonkey · 23/09/2007 21:15

oh, Bless him, Peachy!

Lorayn · 23/09/2007 21:23

Thats lovely peachy, talking of baby books, has anyone got theirs yet??
I went to get an enid blyton book for bed time stories after a recent thread and grabbed one whilst I was in the shop, I have the scan and the book, just need to start writing in it!

chipmonkey · 23/09/2007 21:45

I have NEVER had a baby book! Never been organised enough.
