My chin's all spotty too, thank goodness the weather's getting a bit colder, I won't look so odd going out in a balaclava.

My boobs seem to be bursting out of my bras, but I haven't gone to get measured yet. I want to make sure the pg is ok first, and also think boobs increase mainly in first 3 months. Also I want to go somewhere better than m&s, so I might take a trip to a Bravissimo shop. There's no way I'm giving up my underwires this time though. Can't stand those huge big floppy hammocks that give zero support, leave you all shapeless, and are so huge they show if you wear anything remotely low cut

Soph73 · 20/09/2007 11:03

EllieG - At the mo all I´m feeling is bloomin' awful {{quietly leaves room after bloody awful pun}} Daftmoo - know what you mean about needing a decent poo vacaloca - love your name Can´t wait for my scan, am completely paranoid about it though. I wasn´t like this with DS. Hi lemonaid

Soph73 · 20/09/2007 11:06

splishsplosh - I sympathise as I also have a spotty chin at the mo. I was told not to wear underwired bras but if it´s OK I´ll go back to them as these maternity hammocks are horrid. Any thoughts ladies?

splishsplosh · 20/09/2007 11:11

Soph73, I've read threads on here about maternity bras, and it seems like as long as they fit properly, underwires ae OK. Also, there are special maternity underwire bras, I think they're by Anita, and you can find them on the Figleaves website, but not sure how nice they are.

I'm still bf, and have gone back to underwires, as couldn't stand the droopy boob look any longer, and that's caused absolutely no problem.

loisstella · 20/09/2007 11:46

Those confused about date. I was told at my nosy 8 week private scan that allthough I knew exactly when my last period was, the baby looked more like 7+2 - and I freaked out a little about that. It has since been explained ot me that often this has to do with conception... so I think it's probably so that you might be as far along, your baby wasn't created on the same day and is therefore a little smaller or bigger than someone else who's last period started on the same day as yours and hence baby's due date can differ.

Soph73 · 20/09/2007 12:04

splishsplosh - fantastic, will be dashing down the shops on pay day for a nice bra That´s cheered me up no end

modsaluk · 20/09/2007 14:53

Hi all, been for my scan today. Just coming back down from the shock of been told we are having twins.

Oh my god can not believe it.

EllieG · 20/09/2007 15:00

OMG modsaluk! Two beanies! How lovely. My friend is having twins, and another friend has some of about a year and a half old, and they are soooo sweet to watch playing together. Are you OK?

babywhiting - am glad it's not just me putting on the pounds. Not sure about maternity undies but someone was saying bravissimo was good. Good news about baby being sticky!

modsaluk - congratulations Do you have any other children? Or can you get over the shock in peace and quiet

modsaluk · 20/09/2007 15:09

Yeah feeling fine now the shock has gone lol.

My mum said when i told her i was pregnant that she thought it was twins as i was so big.
The lady who scaned me asked if i had been sick lots but i have not, was with my DS who is two on 1st October but not with these buds.

modsaluk - Fab! My DS birthday is the 5th Oct & he´ll be 5 - good month

loisstella · 20/09/2007 15:15

Babywhiting - I am so pleased you and bean seem to be sticking it out together let's keep our fingers crossed a little longer until we know bean is absolutely determined to stay. But htis all sounds like good news.

Modsaluk - great stuff... now you can eat for 3

Lorayn · 20/09/2007 15:26

Bloody hell modsaluk, congrats twice over I suppose!

Peachy · 20/09/2007 15:30

Modsaluk- congrats! twins are fab! Nan had a few sets (3 I think) and they are all say they are pleased to be twins (Nan had 16 kids mnd, so the odds of some twins were high LOL)

Peachy · 20/09/2007 15:35

Lorayn- how you feeling? three cans of pop is fine sweetie, as longas you are keeping hydrated. That's the key!

I am improving now- hurrah! Can't take any cold drinks at all and throw up immediately if I even try, but if I stick to hot drinks )hot choc is best which is odd as I am normally intolerant of milk) I can stay hydrated, I am having mroe good days in between the bad ones which is handy as I haave to start lessons agin next week LOL.

MOST people with HG tend to see improvement between 12 - 20 weeks, it's been 16 for me with the boys; a few go on to have it all the way but not the majority, some do get a return at the end as well but that can't be rpedicted- I did with ds1, not the otehrs.

Stick it out girl, chances are you're almost tehre!

loisstella · 20/09/2007 15:48

OUCH - Bloomin hormones!
Just had a pop at someone and then found out it was all my fault.
I've apologised but feel dreadful...

Soph73 · 20/09/2007 15:56

loisstella - oops, don´t worry about it though. I´m still being vile to DH and he´s doing absolutely everything for me and I know he just wants to tell me to go shove my head up my ! I´m sure it´ll stop soon

Piccalilli2 · 20/09/2007 16:27

Hello girls, haven't posted for ages so lots of catching up to do:

modsaluk: OMG! Twins!! Are you pleased or still in shock?
loisstella: I was vile to someone yesterday and then burst into tears. Hormones have a lot to answer for.
peachy and lorayn: hope you're both feeling better soon.

I still haven't put on any weight but the way I've been eating this week it's only a matter of time. I can't do up my trousers though so am going to have to go out and buy some maternity clothes at the weekend. I need some smart stuff for work, any top tips?

I've got my scan on Monday (will be 11+3) and am feeling very nervous. I'm seeing the midwife for the first time tomorrow.

lemonaid · 20/09/2007 16:31

Congratulations modsaluk!

Had my midwife appointment today, all seems well although I want Monday to come around now so that I can have the scan and know that the baby is OK. Unfortunately to get to Monday I have to go through tomorrow when we have the quality auditors in. Yuk.

And while my due date is still 4/4 I am apparently 12+2, rather than 11+6. I don't know how that works [confused emoticon].

V1KK1M · 20/09/2007 16:38

Scan was all ok and I'm going to try and relax now - I definitely only have 1 in there and he/she was waving at us.

I'm due on 2nd April (12+1 today) so I can stay with you lovely ladies

I have brought a book on baby names and couldn't resist going into mothercare and buying a lovely ittle Humprey's Corner 'coming home' outfit!

Thelittlesoldiersmummy · 20/09/2007 16:44

Hi all havent posted for a while as same old! Nothing to report. Brilliant news about the twins modsaluk.

splishsplosh · 20/09/2007 18:36

had some bleeding this afternoon, also periody pains, so feeling like things not going well

EllieG · 20/09/2007 18:38

That's good V1KK1M, good that LO is doing well, and nice for us that you stay here.
lemonaid - my GP told me that unless there is more than 7 days difference in your dates they don't bother changing your due date as it's not precise anyway, as can be 2 weeks either side of that date naturally. So mine didn't change because there was only 4 days in it.
