Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
babywhiting · 13/09/2007 12:18

Hi all sorry not been around but have had worries!
went to tell gp of pregnancy last friday and he booked me into the a & e dept thinking i was having an ectopic. after waiting 4 hours i saw a gynae doctor and she told me she wanted to stay in just incase, i said i wanted to go home as hadnt eaten for 8 hours or had a drink and was feeling angry at not knowing what was going on.
then told to wait all weekend till the monday before i could have a scan to check on baby.
on monday had the scan and was told that the cord had not attached to the placenta properly but would be fine.as for all the pain im suffering i had to take paracetamol and rest.
went again to dr's yesterday to be told i was having a threatened miscarriage so i have to bed rest (hospital never told me any of this and they were the ones that wrote letter to dr's)
so here i am at home with 3 kids dp working nights and now we've just been told that in process of buying house our mortgage company have gone bust so now got to go into town to try and arrange new mortgage, otherwise we have nowhere to live at end of the month!!!!!
so i'm told not to stress(is that possible?)

ToastAddict · 13/09/2007 12:24

Oh babywhiting, I'm so sorry all of this has happened to you and so at hospital for treating you like this.

Really don't know what to suggest, as you have so much going on, but just try to take it easy when you can.

Thinking of you {{{{{{hugs}}}}}} xx

babywhiting · 13/09/2007 12:28

thanks toastaddict guess at least i can come on mumsnet now as cant do much else!!!!

loisstella · 13/09/2007 12:31

oooo BW - that's crap!
Can you get your partner sorting out the mortgage stuff? I know it won't stop you worrying but at least you won't have to talk to incompetent bureaucratic idiots that will only wind you up more.

I wish I could do something for you. hugs hugs hugs

splishsplosh · 13/09/2007 12:51

BW - sorry sounds like you're having an awful time. Can't believe hospital made you wait all weekend for a scan.

Sagitta - I understand a bit how you're feeling - I didn't plan pregnancy either, and to be honest was happy to stop at 1 dd. I was quite upset when I found out I was pg, and am still not entirely happy - I veer between worry that the baby's not OK, and worry about how things are going to be if baby is ok. I imagine that if I felt ill like you do, I'd be feeling worse about the situation as well.

I don't think your feelings are at all unusual, and remeber all those hormones are making you feel more emotional about things too.

Try the pregnancy thread, I've read posts where people feel like you, even when they have planned pg.

Lorayn · 13/09/2007 12:53

mumzy, I hadnt received my letter about my scan yet and I am 10+4 today, I called the ultrasound department monday and they told me when I was booked in, if you call yours I'm sure they will be happy to check for you, they would prefer a phone call than a missed appointment.

Soph73 · 13/09/2007 13:16

loisstella - I love sleeping on my tummy too but I can´t anymore and I´m 8+6. It feels as though I´ve got a large rock in there Big hugs to you babywhiting hope you get things sorted soon.

mumzyof2 · 13/09/2007 13:23

Im 8+4,and sleep fin on my tum. Im worried now, should I be able to feel something if im lying on my tummy?

Lorayn · 13/09/2007 13:24

not necessarily mumzy, with my first I was fine, but each time I got pregnant I got bigger and bigger, maybe that is why, I look nearly 6 months gone already!!

mumzyof2 · 13/09/2007 13:26

this is my 2nd though?

Lorayn · 13/09/2007 13:30

I still dont think it is a problem, we all carry babies and all the added bits in different ways, don't fret

Soph73 · 13/09/2007 13:42

Lorayn - thank god, it´s not just me then I also look (at least) 6 months gone. What are we going to look like full term I´m trying not to think about it {nervous laugh}

Lorayn · 13/09/2007 13:47

I know its a nightmare, I went from a size 12 to a 22 with my last one!!! I am going to buy maternity jeans on saturday already, thank god it has been the school holidays though, everyone knows i'm pregnant thanks to LO's big mouth but they havent asked how far gone, they must have assumed i just ballooned over the hols.

RLR · 13/09/2007 14:30

hi all,
has anyone lost weight i keep getting people saying to me u have lost weight havent you ! when really i feel like im getting massive ( the best is ive got a belly and no one has noticed) lol

MathairNua · 13/09/2007 14:42

RLR, I am feeling like a tub of lard and my close are getting tighter and tighter but according to my bathroom scales, I am the same weight as I was 10 weeks ago!

Despite this, I am hoping that this weekend I will buy new clothes to wear, just for a bit of comfort.

I haven't slept on my tummy since I found out, and the first night I had a horrible dream that I was hurting the baby, so for the last while, I have become accustomed to sleeping on my back. I've found that having my arms above my head helps. I think it might be because when I slept on my tummy, that's the way I've slept! DH thinks it's hilarious

babywhiting, good luck and take it easy over the next few days.

mirry · 13/09/2007 16:01

Babywhiting that all sounds HORRIBLE - I am so sorry, and hope that things sort themselves out very soon.

my clothes are getting tighter and tighter, but I don't think I've put on any weight (not sure how much I weighed before pg) - luckily I work from home a lot so am living in tracksuit bottoms, but nothing else really fits. I'm trying to hold off buying anything until 12 weeks (am 9 +0 today), but not sure I will last that long...

Peachy · 13/09/2007 16:10

I'm in maternity clothes BUT they are a size smaller than before PG- just need the elasticated bit for the bump LOL! Everywhere else am smaller!

Babywhiting you NEED not to stress yourself about thsi, you won't be homeless after 1 month- even if the mrotgage takes longer it tkaes mroe time than that to take a house back, esp. when mortgage company gone bust. Let yur DH handle it and put yourself completely first!

loisstella · 13/09/2007 16:17

I'm going to NYC in 2 weeks and I can't wait to buy some cool maternity stuff from Gap at half the price at what they charge here!!!!
So exciting

mirry · 13/09/2007 16:24

so jealous of NYC shopping ....

loisstella · 13/09/2007 16:46

Mirry - I'm so excited. Hubby upgraded flights as well when we found out about wee one. Loving that - going to NYC in style! (mind you we stay in a fab hotel the first night but afterwards in this charming... but certainly trashy place)
Apparently 'coach' (handbag brand) do fabulous nappy bags too.
I'm going to try not go too mental - but probably will...

mirry · 13/09/2007 16:56

Sounds fab

I'm currently justifying all purchases on the basis of how much I'm saving by not drinking/ going out less etc ...

smcg · 13/09/2007 17:18

Loistella, check out A Pea in the Pod ... really cool maternity clothes.

Have a great time. I used to live in NY, I miss it.

EllieG · 13/09/2007 17:25

Good news! Went for scan and was all OK! Cried before, after and during it - poor doc stopped at one point and said 'It's really OK you know! Look! It's moving!' but couldn't stop. So happy to see my little person - he was moving LOADS, could see his little arms and legs wriggling round and his heart going and everything!grin grin grin And have a really clear picture. Am so relieved (at least til next one!). Is just so good to be able to have seen it alive and kicking and know that at the moment it is healthy and well. grin

And am actually 9+1, which is further on than I thought, which is nice hurray hurray my baby's OK hurray!

Peachy · 13/09/2007 17:39

Am glad it all went well

Have had a bad afternoon here as confirmed that ds3 has lost his school place at the local school due to his SN- no idea how I will cope with a new baby and being at 3 schools simultaneously, esp. as one os halfway up a mountain and no car!

But hey= will cope!!!!!!

ToastAddict · 13/09/2007 18:28

Ellie - fantastic So pleased!!!!

Peachy - sorry to hear your problems, hope you manage to find a solution

Loisstella - very jealous of your NY trip Have a great time!!!
