oh how I yearn to eat mashed potato again, I seem to only be able to manage ready salted crisps and burgers, weird. Nice to know someone else feels just as bad, oh and can only drink certain brands of fizzy pop, was ginger beer, now its irn-bru, changes every couple of days.

loisstella · 12/09/2007 17:50

YUK fizzy pop - something I've come to really dislike over the past weeks... hehe... strange all these sudden dislikes.

I've developed a craving for bleuberry juice and salt and vinegar crisps! I also actually crave vegetables right now. If I don't have enough one day I really have to dig into tomatoes, brocolli and carrots the next.

I can eat pretty much everything alltough suddenly not keen on red meat, fizzy pop and too fatty foods (bar fish and chips bizarrelly).

I imagine the reason chipmonkey isn't thinking about girls names is the reason i'm stayinga way from pink clothes- IIRC we each currently have 3 boys (I also have 2 nephews, and another due November- not a girl in sight)

DS2 announced in class that he ws having a sister based on the number of magpies he saw thatd ay..... but it'll be a boy. And that's fine.

Not being half as sick as I was- yesterday i was really well (a few days on medication broke the cycle I thnk), but the school stress meant i didn't sleep last night so have been sick and dizzy / nauseous again. Hi ho.

chipmonkey · 12/09/2007 18:50

Yes, Peachy that is exactly why I am not thinking about girls names and why I am walking past girls' baby clothes going "La-la-la, I can't see you!"
Terrible to have Araminta in your head and then have Tarquin pop out!

scorpio1 · 12/09/2007 18:51

Peachy-ours will be a boy, too We have 3 already between us.

I have just woken up from a nap-felt terrible earlier.

I am loving milk at the moment, and Ready Brek! i'm doing OK with the food-am eating as normal and as well as i ever have. Just loadsa milk!!

We like the name Toby here-but this is guaranteed to change many a time in the next 30 weeks!

scorpio1 · 12/09/2007 18:52

We aren't even contemplating having a girl! my DP would faint i think if we knew it to be a girl (we always find out at the scan, far too impatient, me!)

chipmonkey · 12/09/2007 18:52

MathairNua, I'm Irish too but living in Meath. All attempts to emigrate to the UK failed!

Lorayn · 12/09/2007 19:01

We like Toby too, maybe its a comeback year for Toby?? I once had a bit of a crush on a boy called toby when I was about 14 though, so it would remind me of jibes he received , like 'Toby Jug' and he didnt even have big ears..........

scorpio1 · 12/09/2007 19:15

There a few Toby's at nursery, also a Tobias.

Am trying to think of a less 'common' name i like, but i can't! (I like different names) There is a variant of Toby- Tobin which im entertaining....

Lorayn · 12/09/2007 19:18

I have just had dealings with the snidest letting agents ever - Tobin Jones, lol

scorpio1 · 12/09/2007 19:20

Oh so you're not into that right now then!

NoMoreHighHeels · 12/09/2007 19:25

Had my scan today - just the one baby not twins as suggested by GP! All is fine - just really strange seeing this tiny bean moving around. How the scan lady can work out what is what at this stage I don't know! Relieved all is well and in the right place.

Was a trip I (and esp DH) were dreading - we did the same visit for a scan to the same room with the same staff 2 days after Xmas to be told the news that our last one hadn't made it - that day haunts us both still. Much more positive news today though!

Hope everyone is feeling OK today - another day closer to April!

scorpio1 · 12/09/2007 19:26

congrats on good scan

i can't wait for mine!

Thelittlesoldiersmummy · 12/09/2007 20:25

NMHH so glad everything went ok how far gone did they reckon you where? Glad your feeling better peachy I have one DS so this could be a girl it could I tell you

EllieG · 12/09/2007 20:32

NMHH - congrats on the scan x

I have an early one tomorrow - will be 8+5. Sooooooo nervous am even more irrational and hormonal than usual and keep wanting to cry.

Kirbo · 12/09/2007 20:48

I'm exactly the same - just feel so silly for being emotional all the time. BF has already been away for 1 week with work and won't be back for another week so I think that isn't helping - I think he is glad to be away from my irrational moods tho

elliek · 12/09/2007 20:54

you're scaring me now, EllieG and Kirbo posting next to each other, my first name, then almost exactly my surname, spooky

MamaMaiasaura · 12/09/2007 21:52

Scorpio - JUst popping in to say hi. How is everything going? Have you had any scans yet?

We have had our 20 week (now 24+3) and having another boy

NoMoreHighHeels · 13/09/2007 10:15

Thanks for the congrats everyone. Good luck to all who have scans soon - I now it can be scary as your mind runs wild with all sorts of stuff.

They dated me yesterday as exactly 11 weeks (I thought I was 11+1) so pretty close!

As for emotions, wow - can burst into tears at the drop of a hat or can be as happy as anything the next - like PMT! Lucky DH or anyone else that gets on the wrong side of me!

Lorayn · 13/09/2007 10:21

I am on my third pregnancy and have never worried so much!!! All the stories I have read on MN about miscarriage etc have scared the pants off me, I can't wait til I finally have my scan.

loisstella · 13/09/2007 11:00

Lorayn - I love MN, but I do think my fears of mc increased because of the horror stories I read on here a little as well. Have you gals noticed though that thankfully we haven't had any bad news in the group for over a week now???? I reckon that must be a good sign.

I read somewhere thta the 8 week mark is a really important one and that heartbeat at 8 weeks actually puts you in a pretty safe zone (less than 1% mc after this)

I told my boss and team at work two days ago (becasue I was feeling so sick and all) and now everybody in the company seems to know...
I'm normally one of those people who's scared of jinxing things, but you know what... the fact that people know now almost makes it feel more real and safe.
I'm gonna try and stay in this positive mood for the next 25 days (12 week scan date)!

loisstella · 13/09/2007 11:04

question for you girls. Is anyone finding it uncomfortable yet sleeping on your belly? Its my favourite position, but it feels like I'm lying on something hard...

ToastAddict · 13/09/2007 11:16

NMHH - great news about your scan

EllieG - good luck for today

Loisstella - yes, it is definitely not as comfy on my front as it used to be! And I'm only 8+4!! Can't believe it makes a difference already!

Lorayn · 13/09/2007 11:33

Loisstella, yes, I am finding it hard, I have to kinda use one of my legs to lift me up from the bed, like the recovery position. It's horrid, I am really bleeding tired, but can't get comfy enough to sleep!!

mumzyof2 · 13/09/2007 12:18

How many weeks were you all when you were told what day you were to have your 12 weeks scan? I will be 9 weeks on Sunday, and keep expecting an appointment through the post, but have got it. How long do you think I should leave it until I chase them up?
