Graduate thread for all the amazing ladies who have endured infertility and are hopefully now starting a new chapter🤞

@Littlelot @Viletta @candycornlover @FlapJackered @Wimbledon1

I got my BFP on Tuesday the 28th and am feeling pretty symptom free today (so obviously panicking that it's all going wrong! 😣). 7 week scan due to be Tuesday the 18th and it feels like a long way away with symptoms going awol! 😥 POAS this morning and it looks spot on for where I should be, so trying to take some comfort from that 🤞🤞🤞

@Bestofyou1982 thank you, I'm five weeks now and suddenly had a gush of wetness this afternoon and went to check and my pants had loads of bright red blood. Bleeding and cramping continues, shortly after I passed several large clots, including one which had a clear jelly like blob in centre of it. Attended A&E tonight and was seen by a lovely dr, who was very caring and sympathetic towards me. Unfortunately no one available to scan me at that time night on a Sunday, so I've got an appointment for tomorrow at the EPU.
I don't hold out much hope though as just seems like too much blood.

Sounds like you have had a crappy weekend regardless of the outcome. I will keep my fingers crossed for you.
Hope you can take some time for yourself either way tomorrow. xx

This week I have been most fatigue ever I have been . I just don't want to get up from sofa and my eyes just keeps shutting down. Also hungry all the time 😋

Other than that sore boobs and random cramps/Twinges in lower abdomen are the only symptoms. Not sure if there is anything I can do to be more active ? 😴

Oh no @candycornlover - gutted to see this. What a horrible experience although I'm glad the doctor at A&E was good and kind to you.

I hope you are able to take some time after the scan to take care of yourself and not go to work? Sending you lots of thoughts 🍀

Lovely to see you both here @QuantumGirl @MrsLouB 🥰 If your clinics are anything like most of ours then they'll probably be booking you in for a 7 week viability scan to see how things are going in there 👀 A few of us have also booked our 12 week midwife booking appointments... which I was more than a bit trepidatious about (don't count your chickens/tempt fate/etc 🔮 🤦‍♀️). However, the midwife booking line where I am said we're best off not waiting until after the 7 week scan before booking the 12 week scan because the appointments fill up quick and if you leave it until 7 weeks you might not get a booking appointment until 15 - 16 weeks! 😥 I'm turning 40 in a few months time, so I really want to know my trisomy risk ASAP... then I might actually stand a chance of chilling out a little bit after that! 🤞🤞🤞

@MrsLouB and @QuantumGirl congratulations on your bfp! Woop woop! Amazing news, I hope you both can breath out and enjoy it! Wishing the smoothest 9 months possible!

I booked a private scan for 6w6d as my clinic is in Czech and also booked an appointment with midwife at week 8. I hope that I'll get an accurate dating on my first scan for the 12 week scan.

You may certainly come in @QuantumGirl, so nice to see you and @MrsLouB Congratulations to you both. 🧡 News has been a bit up and down this morning so we are glad to have you.

I spoke to my GP surgery this morning to ask if I should be booking a midwife appointment, and was told that I didn't need to do anything with them at the moment and they were 'sure' the clinic would tell me what needed doing and when. I might phone the clinic to check though reading the below. I don't want to wait until week 15 to scan!
Plus I'm doubting how joined-up the system is, given last week I had a call from the hospital telling me not to come for a planned blood donation today (I have it for a medical condition) because I shouldn't do it while I'm pregnant. Then they called me 10 minutes ago to ask why I hadn't shown up for the appointment that was booked for me today. Face. Palm. 🙃

Exactly @Wimbledon1 - it worries me greatly how the left hand doesn't always seem to speak to the right hand! 🤦‍♀️

Has anyone else booked for the flu jab by the way? This is the other reason I want to be sure my GP surgery are giving me the right advice. I know the NHS website says we should get it, and not sure if we need proof of pregnancy or anything for it to be free?

Although if this cornonavirus spreads any further, I'll be refusing to leave the house anyway!

Report
BambiOnIce80 · 10/02/2020 14:39

I get it free through work @Wimbledon1, but I think I've basically been sensitised to the flu virus naturally because every time I have the vaccination I get a massive lymph node come up just above my collar bone (not a good look! 🙈). I haven't bothered for the last couple of years as a result, but yes pregnant women should have it because we've all got a weakened immune system whilst pregnant 👍

Isn't the flu vaccination given before the end of December? At least that was the deadline for the free one through work that I didn't bother getting..

Report
Wimbledon1 · 10/02/2020 19:18

Yes you're right @Viletta. I spoke to the surgery again and she said "oh we won't have any flu vaccines left" as if it was the world's stupidest question. 😂 Apparently they are generally done in Sept and Oct. so guess I'm just hoping I don't get it in the remaining month of this winter!

Is anyone having moments of going off their DH? 😂
I woke up this morning and he is reaaally irritating me for no particular reason. 😬
I think it must be a hormonal thing today or I am just hangry!
