Graduate thread for all the amazing ladies who have endured infertility and are hopefully now starting a new chapter🤞

@Littlelot @Viletta @candycornlover @FlapJackered @Wimbledon1

I got my BFP on Tuesday the 28th and am feeling pretty symptom free today (so obviously panicking that it's all going wrong! 😣). 7 week scan due to be Tuesday the 18th and it feels like a long way away with symptoms going awol! 😥 POAS this morning and it looks spot on for where I should be, so trying to take some comfort from that 🤞🤞🤞

Ha, I hear you @BambiOnIce80. Last night we went to friends for dinner and I'd already made up a lame blood donation excuse for why I wasn't drinking. Then they told us on arrival they were cooking steak! Then that rather than potatoes they'd done it with chips because they are proud of their homemade mayo. And the final piece, for dessert it was cheesecake. Think by the time I'd sent the steak back to be cooked more, pushed some mayo around my plate she said I was too full for dessert, they may be onto me...🙈

What App are people using by the way? I saw someone mention a tracking one. I've found they wanted a lot of info. One even wanted my house address as part of setting it up, so that got deleted. Have settled for OVIA, which was what I used for years TTC.

Sneezing is hurting today!! Poor ligaments 😂

Viletta · 08/02/2020 11:49

@Wimbledon1 haha! That was a dinner from a sitcom 😂 I realized that the cheesecake I had might have contained raw egg! Maybe that's why I had indigestion right after. No more!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend! Are you taking vitamins? I take folic acid, vitamin D, I have leftovers of zinc and omega 3 that my DH used to take before icsi, apparently both good during pregnancy. Also found that iodine is recommended for baby's iq.

@Viletta I do take seven seas 2 al stages pregnancy 🤰 which has folic acid / 21 vitamins and minerals , iron and vitamin D x any other brand does not suit me x i used to take seven seas trying for baby folic acid before this and just switched. I also take extra vitamin D as mine is really low and also Omega 3 fish oil separate ( but be careful some omega 3 & multi vitamins contains vitamin A which is harmful during pregnancy)

My clinic advised not to change any medication without docs advice .

I thought raw/runny eggs are ok now as long as they have the lion stamp on?

@Wimbledon1 🙈 😂 that is possibly the worst meal combination you could have been offered isn't it!

I have been getting some AF type cramps today which is worrying me a bit. Hopefully it is just the baby getting more settled though. 😕

Report
BambiOnIce80 · 08/02/2020 19:13

Yep, that's what the NHS website says @FlapJackered 🥚🦁 👍 If the mayo was made from eggs produced by Sage and Onion that live in the back garden though, I'd be avoiding it too @Wimbledon1! 😬

I'm sure your cheesecake would have been made with pasteurised eggs/cheese if it was shop bought @Viletta, so try not to worry ❤️ I'm taking 5mg folic acid (NHS advises a higher dose if there's a family history of neural tube defects, which mine has), 25ug of vit D3 and omega 3 fish oil containing 180mg EPA and 120mg DHA. I think we can phase them out after the first trimester though, but going to check with the midwife first 👍

I worry if I get twinges @FlapJackered and I equally worry if I don't! 😳🤪 After last night's twinges, there hasnt been much of anything today, but I've had acupuncture, so that might be a factor 📍🤔 I'm going to pee on my final remaining clearblue digital tomorrow and I'm praying for a '3+ weeks' result 🙏

Well, I've emailed the hotel with my 'dietary requirement' for our short break next week and they've emailed straight back saying congratulations and no problem, which is a relief ☺️

The egg thing! It's bothering me as I only eat eggs from my own chooks, who do not lion-stamp their eggs on the way out!! 🐔 I've had all my chooks for at least 2 years and they are in tip top health, but I need to read up on whether they could be carriers without showing symptoms. Swapping runny poached eggs for scrambled for now 😢.

Report
BambiOnIce80 · 08/02/2020 20:10

... Please tell me they're called Sage and Onion @Chooklass?! 😜😁😜😁 Is the lion mark something to do with how they're sort of disinfected from chicken 💩?! It'd be interesting to know the why's and wherefores 🤓

@BambiOnIce80 makes sense about supermarket bought cheesecake, thank you!

I got a comprehensive pregnancy vitamin and organic (mostly) face cream. My baby digest from Ovia tells me that the heart might be already beating. Fingers crossed we all here will swoop through the pregnancy and let it be as uneventful as possible

Chooklass · 08/02/2020 20:59

They are not, I'm afraid! 😂😂 I think the lion stamp means the chicken was vaccinated against salmonella (and maybe other things) when it was a chick, so definitely can't pass that on in eggs. I've no idea if mine were vaccinated before I got them 🤔. I need to read up! I think it must be low risk, as I've been eating eggs from those particular chooks for years but it's amazing all the seeds of doubt which have sprouted in the last few days!

Did you go for your run @BambiOnIce80? I went for a 5 mile walk this morning and it felt great! But I've been totally exhausted since. Like a whole new wold of tiredness! My stomach feels like I've been doing lots of crunches, so weird. Apparently normal as ligaments and muscles adjust. I'd no idea I'd feel so different so quick!

Report
BambiOnIce80 · 08/02/2020 21:31

I totally bottled the run @Chooklass! 🤦‍♀️ I woke up at about 9am and started reading my book with the intention of going for a run after a chapter or 2... and then I woke up 3 hours later with my book in my lap! 😴 😳 Then had to rush off to acupuncture, so at least I got about 30 minutes of brisk walking in between the trip there and then running a few errands on the way home 😬 I've since had a read through the NHS website about pregnancy and exercise and it seems to say that as long you manage to get 30 minutes of walking in each day and do some pelvic floor exercises, everything should be fine! 🧘‍♀️ Well done on your 5 mile walk 👏 How's the cheeky weekend away going? Sprocket has kicked in with the tightening and twinges this evening... it's the weirdest thing how there's nothing all day and then there's a big old twinge-athon 🤷‍♀️

It's lovely thanks! So nice just having time to chill 😍. Drive back through the storm tomorrow prob won't be fun though!

@BambiOnIce80 you're so right with the worrying about twinges and worrying about them not being there! 🤦‍♀️😂
I am sure you would get a 3+ now. I did one last week and it said 3+ - there is something about seeing it that is so satisfying!! 😂

I am so jealous of your chickens @Chooklass 🐓 🐓 We are currently in the process of buying a house in the country and definitely will be having a mini farm 😂 DH is trying to reign me in to just a few ducks and chickens 😂
I am getting the sore abs too from doing nothing, it's a really strange feeling isn't it!

Does anyone else find the twinges/cramps worse when doing exercise/walking?

BambiOnIce80 · 09/02/2020 09:01

You're right @FlapJackered, I have been treated to the '3+' weeks this morning, so no more clearblue digitals for me! 😄 I think I need to channel some of @Viletta 's positivity and just trust that our status for now is 'so far, so good' 👍 Very exciting that you're buying somewhere in the country 🤩 DP and I have been having similar conversations, but for now we think we can shoe-horn a mini-me into where we live now and we'll think again if space starts becoming an issue... we're not ready to give up city living just yet 😏 On the twinges front, the very first time I noticed my lower right-sided dull ache during the TWW was whenever I was walking fast 🏃‍♀️ Now it seems to be more when I'm having my main meal in the evening 🤔

Safe journey back today @Chooklass - the storm outside sounds pretty awful! 🌬 I'm going to find out in a bit when I walk to meet my friend for brunch 🍃 Also - interesting that chick's can be vaccinated against a bacteria 🤓

@FlapJackered you got a 3+ last week?!? So within less than a week of your BFP you were up to the 2,500 mlu/ml or whatever it is that CB say pushes you over that threshold. 😮 Do you mind me asking what your count was on OTD? (If you know it?) This sounds good going for you anyway :)

Sorry if I caused some concern over the eggs. As others have said the NHS website basically says raw egg is fine, I just wasn't totally sure of the background of the eggs, and asking obviously wouldn't have helped my cause to try and cover-up the situation with my friends 😂 Also @Chooklass I now understand your username and that really made me smile!!

Report
FlapJackered · 09/02/2020 16:54

@Wimbledon1 😬 yes on I think Wednesday last week I got the 3+? Is that not normal?
My level was 300 (whatever the unit is) on OTD on 9dp5dt, which I think is on the high side. 🤷‍♀️

@BambiOnIce80 hurrah for the 3+!!! Yes it's hard to stop testing isn't it. I am also slightly fascinated by seeing the words pregnant and the two lines now after so many negatives over the years!
We are buying a fixer-upper which we are going to need to spend months and months of DIY...perhaps not the best timing 🙈😂
I think we have decided we will just rent it out for now and save some money and move in after the shrimp is born. It is going to be interesting!

I hope everyone is surviving the storm. I am hunkering watching Workin' Moms on Netflix - actually really funny!

I'm no expert but given HcG apparently doubles every two to three days, in theory you would have been at 600 odd late on Sunday and then about 1200 by Weds morning. But sounds like you were well ahead of that. How many embies did you have put in and would you be up for twins?! 😜 (Kidding, all bodies are different etc) I was going to wait until Tuesday or something until I was comfortably into my fifth week just not not scare myself if it comes back as 2-3 weeks still but I'm tempted to do tomorrow. This whole process is a mental battle isn't it!

We've just cooked a massive roast (over ate) and now I'm about to make soup with the leftovers. Figured if I act like a mum maybe it'll make me one! 😂

Just wondering if any of you who are NHS funded have had to pay for a IVF prescription post positive test? I went to collect mine today (continued pessaries and oestradiol). First it took me ages to find somewhere that had the drugs. Then pharmacist told me it would be £109. 😮 luckily I have enough to last me a couple of days still, so going to ring ivf clinic tomorrow and see what they say. Was not expected it to be more than £9 an item. But private script not NHS apparently.

FlapJackered · 09/02/2020 18:30

@Wimbledon1 ah I see! I wonder if I had a faulty test? I only had one embryo in so I really hope it isn't identical twins 🙈😂
Roast sounds amazing, I am making fajitas now 😋

@Bestofyou1982 I am not NhS I am afraid, but I did just pay for my post bfp meds £570 🙈 - I almost fainted. I would really like to have just a few weeks of just not spending money like water.

Viletta · 09/02/2020 19:07

I got my stock of estrogen and progesterone it it costed about £65. I had some leftovers to last me a couple of weeks though. Utrogestan is slightly cheaper than cyclogest. The price was comparable to fertility2u pharmacy where I got the pills with my Czech prescription. Boots had to order progesterone for me for the next day.

Report
Wimbledon1 · 09/02/2020 19:29

Oh no I'm sure it was fine @FlapJackered - you started quite high so you've obviously just continued that way, which is good news from what I'm reading. 🙂

@Bestofyou1982 I am on the NHS and when the clinic phoned to give me my BFP, they said they would need to sort out another 28 days of cyclones to, which was then delivered to me. I didn't need to do or pay anything. I know different hospital trusts vary but think it's definitely worth checking you aren't meant to be paying a private prescription charge (or any charge in fact)

Report
Wimbledon1 · 09/02/2020 19:30

Cyclogest- not cyclones. Damn you autocorrect 😂 (although appropriate with today's weather)

I think I have food aversion.. don't want any of the normal food, ate fruit yogurt and tons of apples today.

Thank you @Viletta @FlapJackered 😘 No food aversions as such here, but OMG am I knackered! 😴 Walked to meet a mate for brunch at a vegan place (where I could eat literally anything and everything on the menu 😋), walked back and had an impromptu afternoon of entertaining mates at ours (the 0% wine was a very effective pregnancy beard 🧔🤰😉), but now I am absolutely on my arse! Nice day though 😊

I'm jealous of your roast dinner @Wimbledon1! I've had a hankering for one all week 😋 Think we'll have to make that happen next week 👌

Sorry to bring the group tone down ladies, but looks like it's all over for me tonight. Think I'm miscarrying 💔
I'm getting scan tomorrow but I don't hold out much hope. Wishing you all luck in your pregnancies xx

@candycornlover big hugs to you and sending you positive thoughts too of a successful scan tomorrow.
If you don't mind me asking what makes you think you are miscarrying? And how far along are you?
