Graduate thread for all the amazing ladies who have endured infertility and are hopefully now starting a new chapter🤞

@Littlelot @Viletta @candycornlover @FlapJackered @Wimbledon1

I got my BFP on Tuesday the 28th and am feeling pretty symptom free today (so obviously panicking that it's all going wrong! 😣). 7 week scan due to be Tuesday the 18th and it feels like a long way away with symptoms going awol! 😥 POAS this morning and it looks spot on for where I should be, so trying to take some comfort from that 🤞🤞🤞

@Viletta 😍 congratulations! I can't believe how much like a baby it already looks. ❤️ You must be over the moon and very relieved.
With the nuc, how do you know what a good number is? When do you get the other results back?

@Lily999 I am not entirely sure 😬 maybe give your midwife a call and talk to her about it. It may be they don't think it is necessary to test it?
That's amazing you have such a kind boss! It makes such a difference especially in a situation like this.

Thanks @Wimbledon1 for the update. It is reassuring. It seems they are starting to say the only slight risk is in the 3rd trimester now. So I am hoping it all calms down a bit by the time we get there. 🤞
I hope you're ok and managing not to get too anxious, I am a nervous wreck about my scan on Friday. I just can't wait for it to be done. 😬

Just trying to process Boris's announcement last night and how I exercise my supercharged energetic dog with one small walk a day. 🤦‍♀️ 🐕

FlapJackered · 24/03/2020 06:59

Here is her looking less supercharged!
I don't think I will see this happen for the next 3 weeks!

@FlapJackered I googled it the normal sizes per the size of the body. If I remember correctly anything below 1.8 is okay. There are also online calculators that use age, baby size and NT size. They said if the risk is high the midwife will call in about 2 days, if low, I'll receive the results in mail in 2 weeks. It did look so much like a baby already and was co cute. Did BJ said a short walk? I heard just one walk a day. I take my dog out for at least an hour and she is a lazy non willing to walk French bulldog

Chooklass · 24/03/2020 10:27

Congratulations @Viletta - gorgeous picture and must be such a relief. 1 week, 6 days to mine - time is going sooo slowly. Probably because I'm at home all the time and life isn't very varied at the moment.

@FlapJackered - what a beautiful doggo!! I think Villetta is correct - BJ didn't say anything about the length of exercise, just that is should be once a day. I went out for an hour-long walk this morning. The golf course next to our house is closed from today so lots of people are letting their dogs run wild on there!

Viletta · 24/03/2020 13:10

@Chooklass very exciting! Hope everything goes well! I noticed the quality of ultrasound in our nhs maternity center was better than in the private ultrasound place for pregnancy.

DobbieFreeElf · 24/03/2020 13:20

Hey everyone,

I’ve been a bit quiet for a while, mostly because I’ve been feeling so worried about everything going wrong but I had my follow up early scan today (9+2) and everything looks ok. It’s even got a little pillow so looks comfy and getting settled in. Feeling a bit relieved and maybe very slightly more optimistic... maybe!

Glad it sounds like everyone is doing ok and staying away from others. I’m so happy that the weather is nice and at least we can enjoy the garden and our once a day walk!

Lovely scan @Viletta, must feel good to get out of the first trimester 😊

@FlapJackered I was so tempted recently to bring forward the plan to get a puppy which we have planned for the end of the year but for now we’ll stick with just the one old lumpy one! Being on lockdown with a 3 year old DS and a puppy may have sent me over the edge!

Lily999 · 24/03/2020 13:57

Oh, very nice photographs @Viletta and @dobbiefreeelf! So nice to see the little ones in there, isn't it? We can follow how they are developing. Bit sad now that I let DH convince me not to have a 10-week scan, but I guess it just makes me wait for the 12-week one even more.

So took your advice @FlapJackered and called the midwife as I just couldn't let this NT test go and she said oh, sorry, I made a mistake yes, you will get that scan. OK, so a week of research and worrying was time well spent :) Anyhow. All NHS staff are under a lot of pressure so that's fine.

@Chooklass I love the countdown, mine is in 2weeks tomorrow, so not too far behind you, it will be bang on 12weeks that day actually. My 35th birthday is on the 9th of April and I am so happy we will know whether we can announce the baby on that day. Can't wait to get out of this first trimester, I am soo ready for the second!

I also go for one walk a day and it's about half an hour, then also spend some time in the garden as the weather is amazing. I am hoping that walk does count as exercise as I can't run or cycle at the moment.

FlapJackered · 24/03/2020 14:11

@Viletta @Chooklass unfortunately they have closed the places I normally do longer walks so I am stuck with the local one which is v short!
I don't know what the etiquette is with getting in the car and going for a walk further a-field? Is that a big no-no with lockdown?

@DobbieFreeElf he is so cute!! 😍
Congratulations on the scan! That must have eased your mind a bit with it all.
I am going crazy waiting for mine on Friday.

@Lily999 that is great news!! You can relax now! I am in a similar situation, my birthday is on Monday so hoping we will be able to tell everyone after the scan on Friday 😬🤞

Viletta · 24/03/2020 14:26

@DobbieFreeElf aww the baby on the scan looks so cute!! And your doggie too!

@FlapJackered I think as long as you do t use public transport it's fine to drive to have walks. I know they said people should be commuting to/from work only but logically I think it's okay. National trust suspended parking fees to larger parks for that reason.

justkeeprunning5 · 24/03/2020 16:23

Hi there,

Have been a little quiet as have been trying to remain calm in these crazy times. I can’t really believe the situation we are all in at the moment.

Have been keeping an eye on this thread, so sorry to hear of the sad news of a few of you. I won’t tag you so you don’t get a notification but just in case you are checking back in on this thread, I am thinking of you.

My hospital suggested that it would be best for me to not go into London for my scan (scheduled for yesterday) so we managed tp get a scan for last Saturday and it’s going strong in there, now 7 weeks 4 days (thought id be a day ahead of that but they said no quibble over a day). I had the lightest of spotting the day before which freaked me out to end but I’m assuming that it was irritation from the progesterone. Has gone away now. Other than that just tiredness, sore boobs and a feeling of being a bit ‘off’. So think I’m getting off quite lightly so far.

Good to see the updates coming through from others the past few days. Stay safe all.

QuantumGirl · 24/03/2020 16:58

@Viletta and @DobbieFreeElf lovely to see your scan pictures and knowing all is well 😍. My 12 week scan is on the 7th but I got a text yesterday saying it might not happen and they would let me know.

Btw @Viletta are you having a baby boy? 💙

Is anyone having any cravings yet? I'm not but I'm off sweets and chocolate!!!! I've always loved chocolate ffs 🙄

FlapJackered · 24/03/2020 17:06

I just called the midwife to check and DH can't come to the scan with me 😭
I am so upset. I understand the reasons but it's really really hard. I am terrified enough as it is, him not being there is just going to make it even harder.

@Viletta how long did your scan take?

Viletta · 24/03/2020 17:13

@FlapJackered overall it took about an hour. I had urine sample, flu jab, weight and height, scan and the bloods. Sorry to hear that the hospital won't allow DH... I wonder if you could do a private one later on for the gender reveal if situation calms down. Can he wait for you at the parking lot?

@QuantumGirl I don't know the gender yet, I used to think it was a girl now I kind of think it looks more like a boy. In Russian the words, "baby" , "embryo" and "fetus" are masculine maybe that's having an effect on my thinking.

FlapJackered · 24/03/2020 17:29

@Viletta I decided I want him there for the first scan so we are going to risk it and get a private one tomorrow evening. Otherwise the anxiety is going to kill me!

Viletta · 25/03/2020 17:49

@FlapJackered how exciting! We found private ultrasound office being more cautious asking us to sanitize hands and taking time to clean in between the patients. Let us know how it goes!

Lily999 · 25/03/2020 17:59

Good luck @FlapJackered I can understand you completely, I would want DH to be there as well. Actually checked their website and the private scan place we would have gone is closed due to the virus, so it's not an option for us anymore. But we are in the next 2WW until the scan. :) Happy birthday to us!

FlapJackered · 25/03/2020 18:14

Thanks @Lily999 @Viletta
So midwife called and apparently they got it wrong and he can come after all! Hurrah!
Apparently he is just allowed for the 12 week scan but any scans/appointments after that I am on my own. I am hoping by then this may have died down a bit though.
So I have cancelled the private scan and waiting until Friday! Time is going sooooo slowly!!

@Lily999 hopefully your hospital will be the same 🤞

Chooklass · 26/03/2020 08:27

Phew - that’s good @FlapJackered!

I’m in a slight panic as I woke with a tick bite on my leg 😫. Must’ve picked up in woods yesterday. I’m really careful in summer but ticks just weren’t on my radar yet. Think I’ll check with midwife as I remember a pregnant friend being put on antibiotics as a precaution after a tick bite. Sigh.

Viletta · 26/03/2020 11:08

@FlapJackered great news!! It's so important for bonding in my opinion, great that DH will be able to come!

@Chooklass oh no, let us know what the midwife says. Ticks didn't even cross my mind!

Viletta · 26/03/2020 13:18

My risk came back through the door just now and it's really low! I'm so relieved! Apparently the take maternal age from when the egg was collected.

Littlelot · 26/03/2020 15:29

Will post a pic when I get home but scan went well today! All measurements spot on NT well within the normal range less than 2 and I asked and they said that normal was anything less than 3.5 and strong heartbeat.

@Viletta glad to hear your results are excellent! I’m fingers crossed for mine now. There’s always something to worry about.

Viletta · 26/03/2020 16:26

@Littlelot wooohoo! Congratulations on your scan! 😊😊😊
