Graduate thread for all the amazing ladies who have endured infertility and are hopefully now starting a new chapter🤞

@Littlelot @Viletta @candycornlover @FlapJackered @Wimbledon1

I got my BFP on Tuesday the 28th and am feeling pretty symptom free today (so obviously panicking that it's all going wrong! 😣). 7 week scan due to be Tuesday the 18th and it feels like a long way away with symptoms going awol! 😥 POAS this morning and it looks spot on for where I should be, so trying to take some comfort from that 🤞🤞🤞

@BambiOnIce80 how was your NIPT test? Did you get a scan?

rainbow178 · 15/03/2020 16:21

@Minster2012 so sorry to hear you are still not knowing what is going on. It must be hell for you both. Hope you get Some news soon.

I have no idea what to do about work- I think I should just go in and do my best to keep clean etc but if something where to happen, would I ever live with myself!? But then if schools never close down, I can't take the next 7 months off. I have an appointment with a consultant next week as mid wife said I am 'high risk' - under active thyroid- so wonder if I should wait until I've seen him and ask?

I just don't know what to do!

BambiOnIce80 · 15/03/2020 17:21

Thanks for thinking of me ladies ❤️

Just back from the scan and, sadly, it's the worst possible news for us. Scan showed il bambino had stopped developing at 8+5 and there's no heartbeat. We're absolutely gutted 💔 At least we know where we are, but I'm dreading the coming weeks seems I've had absolutely no bleeding yet 😔

I think we've been really unlucky, so please, please don't let this frighten you that it could happen to you 💐 Wishing you all the positivity in the world for happy and healthy pregnancies 💖

Oh @BambiOnIce80 I’m so so sorry to read this, I’m so sad for you and your husband. Life is so cruel sometimes xx

Wimbledon1 · 15/03/2020 17:35

Oh @BambiOnIce80 no! I'm so sorry to hear this. How completely awful when you'd gone in for reassurance on the trisomy and to get hit with this. I can't believe it. I have to say missed miscarriage is still my biggest fear but you have definitely got so unlucky. I found a study online saying after eight weeks and once you've seen a heartbeat the risk is under 2%. I'm so sorry. 😭 xx

Chooklass · 15/03/2020 17:57

@BambiOnIce80 I can’t believe it 😢, I’m so, so sorry for you and your partner. That must have been such a shock and is utterly unfair. I’m just gutted for you xxx

FlapJackered · 15/03/2020 18:01

NO @BambiOnIce80 . I am so so sorry. My heart is breaking for you. That is incredibly hard, life is so unfair. ❤️
Take care of yourself and don't try and be brave, take your time to deal with this however you need to. Don't rush back to work. I found the boards on here really helpful last time. Sending lots of hugs. Xxx

QuantumGirl · 15/03/2020 18:38

Oh @BambiOnIce80 that is so so unfair. You are an amazingly brave and lovely lady, I do feel your pain x

rainbow178 · 15/03/2020 18:50

@BambiOnIce80 so sad to hear this. Hope you and your husband can get through together x

Minster2012 · 15/03/2020 20:41

@BambiOnIce80 so sorry for you too, and know exactly how you feel we are in the same situation, I finally got a call from the doctor today nearly at the end of the day who answers my question “is there any chance this could be viable?” And he said “once in 15 years I’ve seen it so no” and I too have had no bleeding so it, and based on my medical history will likely be an inpatient medicated miscarriage situation but they will discuss it after it’s been confirmed on Tuesday

Wishing everyone all the best and hope there will be lots of little healthy babies called Corona in October xxxx🥰🌈

Wimbledon1 · 15/03/2020 22:30

Ah damn @Minster2012 - I'm extremely sorry to hear this too, I was still holding out hope for you.

I hope both of you take lots of time for yourselves and your DPs, be kind to yourselves and don't rush anything. Will be thinking of you.

What a sad thread this has been recently, I'm so sorry to everyone it has not worked out for.

I may take a little step back for a while as the chatter and reassurance we were providing each other is getting more difficult to be positive through. Still thinking of everyone and keeping an eye out though.

Let's all fight to weather what comes next. God speed ladies 💫💫👊🏻💕

Viletta · 15/03/2020 23:24

@BambiOnIce80 oh no... so sorry for your news. Please take care of yourself. It's so so unfair... thinking of you ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Viletta · 15/03/2020 23:26

@Minster2012 so sorry for your news.. please take care of yourself. I hope your family will support you during this hard time ❤️❤️❤️

FlapJackered · 16/03/2020 06:39

@Minster2012 I am so sorry to hear this, I was keeping everything crossed the news was going to be good. ❤️
Take care of yourself. Xx

FlapJackered · 16/03/2020 06:43

@Wimbledon1 please don't go for too long ivf twin! I totally understand the need for a break though, it has been a very very hard few days. I think the first trimester was always going to be hard with the stats as they are.
Please come back again when you can! X

Viletta · 16/03/2020 11:53

I caved in a booker a private quick scan for £45 for tomorrow.. just felt like I needed some reassurance. @FlapJackered how are you doing?

FlapJackered · 16/03/2020 12:43

@Viletta I almost did the same after the horrible news on this thread. I have resisted so far though as my scan is less than two weeks away. Yet another tww! 😬 When is your 12 week scan?

Chooklass · 16/03/2020 13:10

Hey ladies, I’m feeling the urge to book a scan too, 3wks until mine.

Just had my booking appointment with midwife. She’s totally lovely 😊. Her advice re.corona is avoid at all costs. I expected her to trot out the ‘no evidence of extra risk ...’ line but she was quite firm about how unknown the risks currently are and that I should avoid. When I suggested it might be less risky after first trimester she said ‘no! avoid for whole pregnancy!’. She’d already had two of her other ladies call in with corona symptoms this morning. It’s made me a bit more concerned, and I just wish there was some sort of official line so we could all demand to work at home. Other than that, I’m ‘low risk’ so that’s a positive!

Sending you all calm, positive thoughts for the week ahead ❤️. Thinking of you lots @BambiOnIce80 and @Minster2012 xxx

Lily999 · 16/03/2020 13:12

OH no, what a horrible weekend this was for our thread! I am so incredibly sorry to hear your news @Minster2012 and @BambiOnIce80!! This is not fair, so close to the 12weeks line :( I am absolutely gutted.

How is it fair to see that little heartbeat at week 7 then the Universe just takes it away? I am having my first midwife appointment tomorrow at 9am, once she tells me the date of my 12weeks scan I will book the private one as well, just want to make sure there will be at least 2weeks in between each.

A bit of a freaking out here as well as the nausea went away this morning (will be 9weeks in 2days time) and obviously worried it means we are not growing...? I think @Wimbledon1 had no symptoms around week 9, but then everything was ok at the scan?

Again, I can't stress enough how much sadness it caused me to hear the news, you definitely deserve a happier ending! Sending you lots of love.

Viletta · 16/03/2020 13:34

@FlapJackered mine is in 7 days 🙈🙈🙈 but I've got a meeting with friends this weekend two of which are pregnant. I haven't told them yet but just want to be sure everything is going well.. I was so confident everything was good going to 7w scan I want to be back to my calm self.

BambiOnIce80 · 16/03/2020 13:46

I am still reading ladies and very grateful for how lovely you all are 💖

I'm so sorry if I've terrified you @Wimbledon1 💐 I was worried to post yesterday's update to be honest because I didn't want to give you all the fear 😔 I didn't want to disappear without a word either, so I am sorry if I've scared you all 😣

Not much to report at my end - just me sat on the sofa, crying a lot and DP cleaning like a demon! I've never seen the likes of it before! Everyone has different ways of coping, I guess. Spoke to EPU this morning and the nurse was beyond lovely and had all the time in the world to talk to me about next steps (despite mentioning that she'd got another 13 ladies to call after me who were all in the same boat - missed MC's are so fucking unfair 😔). Covid19 means that surgical intervention isn't an option for first trimester, so looks like I can hopefully go in for medical intervention this week (there's no way I can face going through this at home 😣). She also said there's no way that I'll be going into work until this has 'resolved' because they'll be signing me off for the duration - one less thing to worry about, at least.

Anyway. Enough doom and gloom. I'm glad your booking went well @Chooklass and I hope everyone has lovely pictures from their next scans (and so sorry I've caused you all to run out and book them! 😣).

@Minster2012 I'm thinking of you ❤️ Please DM me if you want to talk, anytime.x

Yes I reiterate @BambiOnIce80’s sentiments, please try not to be too frightened (I appreciate easier said than done) And if it’s any consolation my doctors say that additional scans aren’t harmful So if the reassurance helps then🤷‍♀️

Viletta · 16/03/2020 15:59

@BambiOnIce80 and @Minster2012 take as much time as you need to grief. It's good that the nurse signed you off @BambiOnIce80. Do you have any frosties left? I guess it can implant and grow so the next time fingers crossed the dna exchange will be error free and all will be well..

CupcakeEater · 16/03/2020 16:49

Hey ladies, I was just checking the thread to see if there was any update from Minster and just had to post to say how sorry I am to hear your news @Minster2012 and @BambiOnIce80 Flowers Flowers

Lily999 · 16/03/2020 16:53

@Chooklass did your midwife say whether we can use the recommendation coming from them to request working from home? I am not glad I still need to come in every day as my job could easily be done from home... My colleagues don't know I am pregnant, but my boss does and I think if I told him the midwife recommended I should stay away he would be ok with it.
I am not particularly worried about the virus itself (apparently once we recover the fetus gets immunity as we develop antibodies), but the fever does concern me as in the first trimester fever can cause miscarriage if what I read can be trusted.?
