Graduate thread for all the amazing ladies who have endured infertility and are hopefully now starting a new chapter🤞

@Littlelot @Viletta @candycornlover @FlapJackered @Wimbledon1

I got my BFP on Tuesday the 28th and am feeling pretty symptom free today (so obviously panicking that it's all going wrong! 😣). 7 week scan due to be Tuesday the 18th and it feels like a long way away with symptoms going awol! 😥 POAS this morning and it looks spot on for where I should be, so trying to take some comfort from that 🤞🤞🤞

Happy scan day @Lily999 - the wait is so nearly over. Hope everything goes well 🍀

And congratulations on your BFP @Russkispy!

Lily999 · 05/03/2020 09:45

In the waiting room. Soooo nervous and scared! :(

Viletta · 05/03/2020 10:59

@Lily999 it'll be fine. Let us know how you get on?

@BambiOnIce80 good to hear there is some research on it. I'll check out Lancet as well. We had planned to travel to Italy in May.. I'm monitoring the situation.

GoldenCloud · 05/03/2020 11:44

Lily999 · 05/03/2020 11:50

Thank you @minster2012, @Chooklass, @GoldenCloud, @QuantumGirl, when the midwife came in and said: look at that strong heartbeat, that's exactly what we want to see now. :) My heart wanted to explode, it was unreal.
The nurse said when we started: it might take me a while to find my way so don't be alarmed, but then about 2second later she said wow, there we are! :)
DH was staring at this photo for minutes afterwards trying to figure out if it's a girl or a boy that made me chuckle :D :D :D

Lily999 · 05/03/2020 15:13

Oh yes, forgot to mention they said 23rd of October that made Hubby very excited as his birthday is the 22nd of October. Also my mum retires on the 1st of November, so it's sort of the perfect timing in many ways :)

Viletta · 05/03/2020 15:13

@BambiOnIce80 I've found one lancet paper talking about covid19 and pregnancy, there are only 2 cases where the virus was detected in mothers but both after birth, there is no evidence yet to confirm whether vertical transmission is or isn't possible www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140-6736(20)30365-2/fulltext

Not very reassuring but again the risks for us to get it is very low.

I think I might cancel my holidays in Italy just to be in the safe side though.

Lily999 · 05/03/2020 15:21

@Viletta my colleague had a booked (&paid for) holiday to Singapore for next week and he talked to the travel agency, apparently they are being very understanding about the situation and allowed him to move their holiday over to June.
Apparently it is expected to dial down after May as the virus can't survive on higher temperatures.

Viletta · 05/03/2020 15:39

@Lily999 our trip is early May with lots of friends. They all still going apart of one girl who is around 16w and decided to cancel. I think I'll decide closer to the date, I don't have flights booked yet but the hotel is refundable. Fingers crossed!

rainbow178 · 05/03/2020 15:41

Such good news @Lily999 !! Congratulations! My scan is slowly creeping nearer and nearer......4 days! Hope I get good news like so many others on here🤞🤞

FlapJackered · 05/03/2020 15:45

Congratulations @Lily999 that is a great picture! 🤩❤️
I had heard that they were expecting that the Coronavirus wouldn't survive the warmer weather but if that is true I don't understand how it is spreading in Australia, when it is their summer? 🤷‍♀️

CupcakeEater · 05/03/2020 19:51

Welcome and congrats @Russkispy and lovely scan pic @Lily999 ❤️

Wimbledon1 · 05/03/2020 21:15

Oh brilliant, congratulations @Lily999. Glad you had a wonderful experience and hope you are still smiling 🙃

Viletta · 05/03/2020 22:54

@FlapJackered that is a very good point.

@rainbow178 exciting! I hope it all goes well!

Minster2012 · 06/03/2020 08:08

Well we’ve booked center parcs for the end of the month which I’m really looking forwards to & until yesterday I wasn’t concerned about corona virus but I’m part of a small village of around 150 houses & part of the events team whereby we organise all the events in the village & we do a lot...(we’ve just done willow weaving, I suggested advent calendar windows in our houses at Xmas, wreath making, Johnny cash tribute band, glam rock gig, we put on a cinema etc etc) & one of the ladies yesterday sent a message to our group saying “oops too late to stay in the village I’m in northern Italy!” One of the main hotspots?!!! & she said she had no idea...& no idea she should quarantine when she got back, in fact she said “well that’s inconvenient I can’t do that”

her husband is a builder who does lots in the village & the village is one which has lots of elderly & a few of them are very ill. These ppl have lived in the village for generations

A few of us said we are sorry but we are going to have to avoid her but that worries me now as I’m VERY high risk not pregnant 🤷‍♀️& I have 2 grandparents over 93 & one who is 102 & very ill my parents see every 2 weeks

Lily999 · 06/03/2020 10:37

Good morning! At least I hope it is good for you as I have had the worst night ever. Threw up twice and felt like this is the end for me. Headache and nausea at the same time, I swear it was worse than a bad hangover. No doubt I am properly pregnant now, feel absolute crap. I am incredibly happy though and thank you for all your congrats! :) Hopefully it will settle down as not sure I will be able to keep it together for a month with nights like this.

@Minster2012 your village sounds wonderful, I want to move there haha! Maybe you could ask her if she's been tested? Given your history I don't think she'd take offence in that.

@FlapJackered that's a valid point about Australia, I will research this.

We are announcing tonight to my sister and her family, so excited already. Bought little T-shirts to her kids saying "I have been promoted to big cousin" I will put them on the kids and tell them to run out to the living room wearing them so we don't actually have to say anything :)

Viletta · 06/03/2020 12:36

I'm going out with work friends today and need an excuse for not drinking ... erch... if I say I take meds they would want to know why and how I feel. I will try not to raise attention to the fact that I'm not drinking at all by having a non alco lager. I wonder if they would think I drank while pregnant later on then..

Viletta · 06/03/2020 16:36

@Wimbledon1 have you had your scan today?

I have a terrible lower back ache.. getting a bit numb there now. not sure if I pulled a muscle when made an awkward movement in bed or overstretched at yoga yesterday.. a bit conscious as lower back aches can be a bad sign?
