Graduate thread for all the amazing ladies who have endured infertility and are hopefully now starting a new chapter🤞

@Littlelot @Viletta @candycornlover @FlapJackered @Wimbledon1

I got my BFP on Tuesday the 28th and am feeling pretty symptom free today (so obviously panicking that it's all going wrong! 😣). 7 week scan due to be Tuesday the 18th and it feels like a long way away with symptoms going awol! 😥 POAS this morning and it looks spot on for where I should be, so trying to take some comfort from that 🤞🤞🤞

@GoldenCloud beautiful pic such a relief after seeing the heartbeat 💓 ☺️

QuantumGirl · 03/03/2020 22:19

Hello hello my lovelies 😍. Sorry haven’t been active here, although I’m over the moon being pregnant life goes on and so does work🙄😩

I did have my scan this morning and all went well ❤️They gave me a catalog of pictures and said I’m 7w4d which is ahead of my predictions. EDD 16th October. 📅

I’ve also suffered with ‘morning sickness’ ( it wasn’t morning and I wasn’t sick) but a horrible feeling that lingered for a while. Missed a whole day of work last Friday, acupuncture has really helped though.

I’m still on progesterone for the next 5 weeks (and I can smell the bugger on me 🤢). My 2 work trousers will soon become 1 and I’m looking forward to summer when I can wear dresses and let it all flow. The worst of all has been an itchy rash all over my body that keeps me awake all night and I’ve also noticed my nipples are 3 inches longer and the other day I brushed my left one against the door frame. At work. Not on purpose, I nearly cried 😭

@MrsLouB @lls1990 I'm very sorry to hear your news, it's heartbreaking. I'm sending positive thoughts your way 💗

FlapJackered · 04/03/2020 06:58

Congratulations on your positive scans @GoldenCloud @QuantumGirl and @twinkleyes35 🤩 such good news! It is so reassuring to see that little flickering heartbeat isn't it. ❤️

@Viletta that's great your manager is so supportive!

@Wimbledon1 that's annoying it's the one time you can't make. I would definitely call and rearrange. I am sure lots of people would be in the same boat. I have been told my 12 week scan will be arranged at the booking appointment so maybe you're the same?

@rainbow178 sorry you're feeling so rough. I have definitely found some ginger biscuits help when the nausea comes. I think eating generally helps even though it feels like the last thing you want to do. Also ginger tea and sleep!

Are people doing anything in the way of exercise? I am walking the dog and starting Pilates today but with the tiredness those are feeling like mammoth tasks on their own! 😴

Minster2012 · 04/03/2020 07:13

On the exercise front I’m also keeping my steps up with dog walking (I do over 15,000 a day), & I’ve done some swimming with with my toddler but it’s more “stopping him drowning” than me swimming so it’s kinda like crouching on my thighs which I suppose is good!
I want to make it to my viability scan on 18th March & then ask them & maybe go back to the gym doing something like yoga or Pilates similar to you @FlapJackered
2 weeks today til 18th March still an age away 😥

DobbieFreeElf · 04/03/2020 08:50

Morning everyone! Back in the land of corona, there was actually people in haslemere Tesco wearing face masks yesterday! And my mum’s closest pub has been shit now for “deep cleaning”. I think I agree with the doctor in Wales that it’s more a matter of when not if now... obviously it’s too early for them to say how it would impact pregnant women.

Really pleased to see the positive early scans, I’m still in the land of no symptoms, my husband has told me that I’ve been very obviously sad and withdrawn, I’m just panicking that it’s all going wrong again. Can’t shake the feeling. Scan next Monday, still an age away. I’m sleeping badly too so I’m constantly on the edge of tears.

I’m sure my mood has not been helped by the fact that I’ve not been exercising as usual. Hoping that Monday is ok and I will ask if I can start doing some workouts from then.

DobbieFreeElf · 04/03/2020 08:51

Omg there “were” actually people, jeeze, the lack of sleep is even affecting my writing!

Viletta · 04/03/2020 10:43

@QuantumGirl lovely scan picture! Glad all is going great! When did they tell you to stop the meds? I'm week 9 and taking now half of the amount with the idea to stop completely during week 10. Eeek!

Lily999 · 04/03/2020 10:56

Morning! @Viletta it is scary to stop, but we just need to keep reminding ourselves they must know what they are doing. I was keeping my phone nearby at all times just in case... Has there been any spotting at all I would have called them right away.

@QuantumGirl and @twinkleyes35 so happy to see everything went well on your scans too!

I think I am up next, 23hours to go (but who's counting :) ). Feel like it can all be over tomorrow morning and I am terrified, but it's really about finding out what is going on in there, at this point there's nothing else to do but hope for the best.

@rainbow178 sorry to hear you are feeling rubbish, I have the nausea too, but it's not as bad now as it was on Sunday, when people kept reminding me feeling bad is highly likely a good thing signalling that little bubba is growing as it should.

@FlapJackered and @Minster2012 I make sure to walk outside for at least half an hour every day (that actually helps with the exhaustion), nothing else apart from that though. Messaged the yoga teacher and she told me I can start after the 12th week, so for now I'll stick to walking and hope it'll be enough.

Crossed over the 7weeks mark this morning so pretty slowly, but will get there at the end (I hope). :)

Minster2012 · 04/03/2020 11:07

@DobbieFreeElf I’m still on no symptoms & we are at the same stage, I’m so sorry to hear you are on the verge of tears & withdrawn, I yo-yo in my head from from “It’s all fine I get occasional cramps so it’s all fine you can do this” to “but that’s clearly just the progesterone, there doesn’t have to be bleeding” it’s a constant battle. I totally snapped at DH in bed when he told me off for being on my phone when he wanted to sleep & yet usually it’s the other way round I just went beserk. Sending hugs, and I love that your mums closest pub is on “shit down” more than “were” 😂🤣

But if a scan is on Monday that’s good? You can get to that point, it’s not many days 😘
Ours isn’t for 2 weeks today 😥

@lily999 not long left then! Exciting xxxx

QuantumGirl · 04/03/2020 13:43

Hi @Viletta I was told to stop at week 12. Can't wait to get rid of the pant cheese 🧀🩲

@Lily999 thanks lovely, keeping my fingers crossed for you for tomorrow 😊

justkeeprunning5 · 04/03/2020 13:45

@MrsLouB @lls1990 I am so very sorry to hear your news, life can be so cruel. Xx

justkeeprunning5 · 04/03/2020 13:48

No big symptoms here except a heightened sense of smell (I swear I can smell Gonal-F, tank) and a metallic taste in my mouth.

Scan on 23rd at 7+4.

GoldenCloud · 04/03/2020 14:07

I had exactly the same when I was taking my Gonal-f injections @justkeeprunning5 ! Immediately after injecting I could taste it in my mouth 😮 DH thought I was crazy 😂

Wimbledon1 · 04/03/2020 14:37

If it helps @DobbieFreeElf I am weeks ahead of you and still wouldn't say I've got any persistent symptoms. Have had a couple of things on/off but not more than fleetingly and I'm more a little lethargic than zombie like tired which everyone else seems to be reporting. After a pretty average 7 week scan on the NHS I have booked a private 'reassurance' one on Friday at nine weeks. So if all is present and correct then, hopefully that will be reassurance for you and help you feel a bit better about the no-symptoms. 😊

I spoke to the hospital this morning and they changed my appointment, just moved it back two days so that was fine. Relief! Can't wait until I can tell work and don't need to keep making up elaborate lies though.

I looked at the government document on coronavirus that came out yesterday and keyword searched pregnancy. All it says is there is nothing to suggest yet pregnant women are more effected. Which admittedly could be because there just aren't enough cases to build evidence yet, but let's try and be positive!!

rainbow178 · 04/03/2020 14:57

@justkeeprunning5 omg I have that awful taste in my mouth- it's horrible isn't it!?

Viletta · 04/03/2020 15:53

@Wimbledon1 let me know how your scan goes, I'm 9w and stopping meds next week. Wonder if they can see how well the placenta is formed at that stage. If they can see it I might book myself one to make sure it's developed to take over the hormone production.

I also have a heightened sense of smell, I went to lush and just loved smelling their stuff!

QuantumGirl · 04/03/2020 16:29

@Viletta I love lush too and they've done well reinventing themselves as the plastic free/ we recycle our packaging ourselves brand. I love the bar soap that you buy per slice (like cheese) and their mascara is great too.

Viletta · 04/03/2020 17:02

@QuantumGirl oh didn't know they do mascaras! I also like that they don't use harsh chemicals, I went through all my cosmetics at some point in an attempt to get rid of the ones that have ingredients that are not recommended during pregnancy 🙈

CupcakeEater · 04/03/2020 17:25

Congrats on your positive scans @GoldenCloud @QuantumGirl and @twinkleyes35

Only exercise here has been lots of walking, thinking of Aquanatal and maybe prenatal yoga after the 12wk mark.

Wimbledon1 · 04/03/2020 18:20

Here's my latest random question, is anyone else breaking a lot of nails? Mine are usually quite strong but every time I touch something in the last week I seem to break a nail. Could be coincidence but I'm seriously wondering if I need to take some calcium supplements!!

Viletta · 04/03/2020 18:23

@Wimbledon1 American health association says although there is not enough cases to say what effect coronovirus has on pregnancy, but if it's anything like SARS it's not good. Hopefully we'll all avoid it.

My nails were breaking really badly at ~7w but then got much stronger after I switched from just folic acid and vitamin d to full pregnancy vitamins.

Viletta · 04/03/2020 21:04

We have another lucky graduate, @Russkispy welcome! I think you might know a couple of ladies from our cosy club!

Russkispy · 04/03/2020 21:43

@Viletta thank you! I'll just pop in to say Hi. I've recognised some of the names. So nice to see you here! And hopefully I'll stay all the way! But it's very very early days for me! This is my 2nd DE FET (donor egg) (we still have 10 top grade embryos on ice!). and hopefully this one sticks! I had 4 MCs last year , all at early stages. 3 with my own eggs and 1 with DE. So I'm begging the universe and everyone and everything to give me a break and let this beautiful 5AB PGS tested bean stick! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
I was 11dp5dt yesterday and here's my test. My HCG today came back at 1226! Repeating beta on Friday 🙏🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
I have a DD and she'll be 3 in June and she's of my own eggs, conceived with IUI using my DH's sperm.
And I'll be 44 in April.
Sorry I haven't read the whole thread but hope you're all well.

I'm soooooo delighted to see you over here @Russkispy! 😍 It's becoming like a TTC board reunion for us over here! Loved your scan pic too @QuantumGirl 🥰 Sorry to here about the problematic boobs though 😕 I'm still getting used to my wider turning circle and have had a few door frame clashes too! 🤦‍♀️

I'm oddly not worrying so much about Covid19 🤔 I read the following article in the lancet and, although it's very early days and the study population has been small, it's looking like Covid19 doesn't transmit across the placenta and it's nowhere near as harmful to the mum as SARS is:

www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140-6736(20)30365-2/fulltext

Hope this helps give a bit of tentative reassurance.x

Will be thinking of you today @Lily999 for your scan and looking forward to a pic before the day is out! 💓
