Graduate thread for all the amazing ladies who have endured infertility and are hopefully now starting a new chapter🤞

@Littlelot @Viletta @candycornlover @FlapJackered @Wimbledon1

I got my BFP on Tuesday the 28th and am feeling pretty symptom free today (so obviously panicking that it's all going wrong! 😣). 7 week scan due to be Tuesday the 18th and it feels like a long way away with symptoms going awol! 😥 POAS this morning and it looks spot on for where I should be, so trying to take some comfort from that 🤞🤞🤞

So the clinic called back, levels had dropp r from 25 on Wednesday to only 4 today so it's definitely gone. 😢 5 and a half years, 3 rounds and this is the hardest as furthest we've ever been felt like the dream was dangled then had been snatched right back. SIL has her 12 week scan on the 20th march so got to go through that with her knowing it would have been so close in time to me.

We knew this was the last cycle with my eggs and had been looking into donor and didn't hold hope for this cycle. Now we've had our only positive it causes you to question whether you pay for a 4th IVF or go donor? Got our follow up next Thursday booked.

Just a crappy situation for us both.

Hope everyone else's continues smoothly and I wish you all happy, healthy bubbas at the end of the year 💕

Minster2012 · 02/03/2020 18:14

@Lls1990 I’m so so sorry for your news, heartbreaking, can you tell your family so that you have some support & aren’t just bearing it all yourselves? No one can really answer the donor question it’s so tough sending lots of hugs

@BambiOnIce80 sorry to add to your fears yes it’s constant worry & because of my history we were high risk too so yes that’s why we paid. Unfortunately our gorgeous little man was a constant little bugger and EVERY SCAN didn’t lie right!! He was (& still is) awkward!! 😂

Viletta · 02/03/2020 20:21

@lls1990 so sorry about your news. It must be really hard with your sil. Would you consider telling your family so they know what you are going through. It's so unfair. I hope the clinic will give you some answers and plan for the next time.

FlapJackered · 02/03/2020 20:26

@lls1990 I am so sorry to hear this. It is just so heartbreaking. Although it is hard to look at it this way, it is really positive you got pregnant with your own eggs. Have a chat to the consultant and I am sure they will be able to give you advice on what direction to go. Wishing you all the luck for your next cycle. Take care of yourself and try not to put too much pressure on yourself x

rainbow178 · 02/03/2020 20:54

@lls1990 so sorry to hear this. Take some time out to consider and recover. Like someone said though, it is really encouraging that you got pregnant with your own eggs and got the furthest you have got. Big love.

@Minster2012 @Minster2012 thanks for the advice- think I will tackle all the science stuff after ether scan next week when it feels slightly more real!!

@Lily999 it's so weird, I feel like a TOTAL expert in fertility but in actually being pregnant, whole different ball game!!!

CupcakeEater · 02/03/2020 21:07

Wow this thread has moved fast!

The bloat has become real over the last couple of days and I actually weighed myself today @Wimbledon1, to my surprise my weight was unchanged. I’ve taken that as a good sign as everything I’ve read says there shouldn’t be weight gain until the 2nd trimester. I am overweight so my gain should be slightly less anyway (although I really don’t want to get too hung up on the scales) I’ve just decided to go with aims of 5 a day and low sugar (unless I get morning sickness then all bets are off) and see how that goes.

Thanks for the suggestion @Viletta I’ll take a look. That makes sense re location and then heartbeat. I do feel very lucky to be having two scans as it will no doubt help my anxiety! I cannot fault my clinic.

My clinic have me at 4w5d today based on ET of 17th Feb so if my calcs are right that would give a due date of 4th November @Minster2012 but I guess they’ll confirm that when I see them. It’s seems weird that your clinic has dated in that way, have your tried an online due date calculator where you can put in ET?

Lots of cramping today which is not helping my anxiety. Has anyone else had a lot of cramping? @DobbieFreeElf, it’s natural to feel like that when you don’t know what’s going on in there. I think it’s very common to have no symptoms at this stage, when is your scan?

I’m so sorry this has happened @Ils1990 please take care of yourself Flowers

FlapJackered · 03/03/2020 07:08

@BambiOnIce80 @Lily999 sorry to hear you had a rough weekend too. I am starting to feel better and I have done the opposite to you Bambi and bought lots of biscuits etc to stuff my face with when I start to feel sick, healthy eating is officially done! I have also weirdly gone off broccoli in a big way 🥦 even the sight of it makes me want to vom, and it's normally one of my favourite vegetables! 🙈

@Wimbledon1 I weighed myself this morning after you mentioned and I have lost 1kg. Strange as I was convinced I had put weight on. I am going to need to try and put it back on pronto but it's difficult when I'm feeling so rubbish. 🤢

So I just read an article by the cdc about the risks of Coronavirus and pregnancy and I am now starting to worry a bit. Is anyone else worrying now the cases are starting to pick up a bit here? DH does a lot of travelling around meeting people with his job so I am just concerned it's going to be unavoidable. 😬😷

CupcakeEater · 03/03/2020 07:50

I must admit I am a little concerned now as we've had loads of emails about it at work. The latest is they're prepping an at risk list of people who may be asked to work from home for the foreseeable and they're gearing up for a potential building shutdown for 14 days. I'm hoping they're just being overly cautious ...

Minster2012 · 03/03/2020 08:22

@Cupcakeeater do your work know about your pregnancy? Would you be on the list?

I’m still not overly concerned despite having a very compromised immune system (I’ve had 2 sets of lymph nodes removed so in theory I’m a third down on my immune system as well as being steroid dependant) but I might try and get some more antibacterial gel, don’t forget it has to alcohol based to kill corona virus

GoldenCloud · 03/03/2020 13:00

So sorry @lls1990 ! Take is easy and be kind to yourself. Wish you all the best 💛

I'm getting a bit concerned as well about the virus. I know I'll be fine, but there are so many people in my surroundings that it would be more serious for. If my FIL would get it, I'm very sure he won't make it as he has serious pulmonary issues and is undergoing cancer treatment. Also I'm concerned for little baby as there's been no research what the effects are for unborn babies. There have been no reports of complications after birth so far, but who knows, I really want to avoid any.

GoldenCloud · 03/03/2020 13:06

By the way - I had my ultrasound last night (at 6 weeks +6). Apparently all is good! DH and I heard and saw the little heart, it was surreal! 🥰 My GC measured little baby at 6 weeks + 3-5 days, so that triggered alarm bells again. But she said not to worry as it's so difficult to measure and we're just talking about 1 mm. Still... the doubt remains. Why are we so tough on ourselves and have to worry like crazy. Don't get me wrong, I'm SUPER happy but still worried about anything that can go wrong.

Hi @goldencloud, what a lovely picture, can't wait to add mine to the collection on Thursday :) It's great you heard the heartbeat as well, I think I will be happy even if they say it's not an ectopic and nothing else. I do believe same way as us we are not all the same height/weight so I don't think you should worry about those couple of days difference in measurement either.
@QuantumGirl hope everything will go as it should today with your first scan as well!
As for the virus I am not overly concerned as we also got hand gels and all, but trying to remind myself since we are pregnant we are actually paying a lot more attention to ourselves, eating healthy bringing in plenty of fruit and veg, also have been taking supplements for months meaning our immune system should be quite well. I know there are no guarantees, but looking at it this way does help.
It is getting super difficult now to wait. The scan is at 10am on Thursday so less than 48hours, but I swear as I get closer it gets more and more difficult... Told my sister we might drop by their place on Friday, but also said we might not make it so this way I can make sure they are at home if we get good news, but if it's bad news I can say our plans have changed....

GoldenCloud · 03/03/2020 13:25

If I remember correct @twinkleyes35 you had your scan yesterday as well right? Hope you're ok and all went well!

@QuantumGirl good luck with your scan today!

Wimbledon1 · 03/03/2020 13:35

@lls1990 so sorry to read your news. Sorry can't imagine what a blow that is after fighting so hard to get to this point. But you did get here, so as you've hinted at, you could again. Take some time for yourself while you think, and take good care of yourself. All the best for next time 💫

@GoldenCloud, lovely to see another scan pic, it had been a week or so. Congratulations on seeing the heartbeat! I got no measurement or dating at my scan, it was a fairly crap experience, and was worried about size really ever since. But I'm nearly three weeks later and still no bleeding or anything, so I think you just have to trust that if there is a problem, they will know. For now you have no reason not to trust them that it's all fine :)

Yes I feel @twinkleyes35 had hers yesterday or today as well....hope it all went well. Send us a lovely picture when you can!

It's weird about the weight isn't it @FlapJackered and others.

My boobs I'm very sure have grown a bit (at least one has 😂) my belly absolutely definitely has, and I'm doing almost no exercise. How am I slightly losing weight?!!

CupcakeEater · 03/03/2020 13:54

I'm on the list, most people at work know as I was quite open about my IVF but I haven't told HR yet. I didn't need to give them the reason I needed to be added. I am also concerned about some of my wider family.

CupcakeEater · 03/03/2020 13:56

Lovely scan pic there @GoldenCloud

Viletta · 03/03/2020 14:20

Hi all, told my manager today she was so happy for me and said if at any time I feel fuzzy I can work from home. I did say that it took us ages and she asked if it is a natural pregnancy to which I said we had to go to doctors but didn't specify IVF.

Viletta · 03/03/2020 15:12

@GoldenCloud lovely picture! I wouldn't worry about 3 days plus/minus. Our doctor also said it's hard to measure at this early stage.

I went to lush and tried some of their body lotions they smell soooo good! My heightened sense of smell sent me to heaven.

MrsLouB · 03/03/2020 15:40

So sorry to hear that @lls1990 i am right there with you.

GoldenCloud · 03/03/2020 15:56

Thanks everyone!

@Wimbledon1 you're absolutely right, just need to trust the process!

@Lily999 exciting for Thursday, having my fingers crossed for you!

Both my managers know I've been in the process of IVF, but have not told them yet I'm pregnant. Was planning to wait until week 12 or if my symptoms were getting in the way of work, but so far the symptoms are manageable. I'll tell them when the time is right

Wimbledon1 · 03/03/2020 19:30

Aww your work sounds lovely @Viletta, great they are being so supportive. I'm not planning on telling mine for a good few weeks yet (unless I need to make a coronavirus related plea to work from home!) but I hope they are that nice when I do.

Has anyone else who has had their booking appointment yet been unable to do it? I don't want to be one of 'those people' and prioritise work, but they've chosen the worst possible day for me. Honestly, if they could have chosen any other date in March other than the one they have, I could have worked around it. I don't know if I call and ask to change, what the impact might be in how long I have to wait and things. Anyone have experience of this?

Viletta · 03/03/2020 19:35

@Wimbledon1 I'd give them a call to see if they can offer any other date before canceling. Is this for your 12w scan?

Wimbledon1 · 03/03/2020 19:57

Oh yes sorry, wasn't planning to cancel but to ask for a rearrangement. I was just worried that would lead to a fortnight delay or something. This is for my booking-in/initial midwife appointment. I haven't had a date for the 12 week yet and not sure I will until after this one?

twinkleyes35 · 03/03/2020 20:56

Hi guys sorry for late update just been caught up with so many things happening right now . But the scan definitely brightened up our day it was perfect healthy baby measuring 8 weeks . Shame our clinic didn't do heartbeat sound so we only manage to see it 💗 and not hear .

Basically the nurse was running late and a 20 min appointment was done in very quick 10 mins she was in so much rush I was very annoyed my dh had to ask her to take video she was hesitant but then allowed and she forgot to grab pics 😏. But we managed to see the baby and flicker so to be positive and moving forward .. with EDD 12 October ( which is what i calculated so bang on so far ) another countdown for 12 week scan on 31 at March .. cannot wait that long 😜

rainbow178 · 03/03/2020 22:00

@GoldenCloud lovely picture and so glad it all went well!!

@Lily999 not long to go for you now!!

I might have to tell work soon, I am struggling to get through the day due to sickness. Not actually been sick yet but nearly throwing up at least twice an hour. It's not even better when at home relaxed, tonight has been hell on the couch, I'm literally just counting down till I can go to bed.....and wake up feeling just as bad!! Has anyone got any tips? Or is anyone else the same just to make me feel slightly better!? On a field trip with school on Thursday, not looking forward to the coach journey......🤢🤢
