Graduate thread for all the amazing ladies who have endured infertility and are hopefully now starting a new chapter🤞

@Littlelot @Viletta @candycornlover @FlapJackered @Wimbledon1

I got my BFP on Tuesday the 28th and am feeling pretty symptom free today (so obviously panicking that it's all going wrong! 😣). 7 week scan due to be Tuesday the 18th and it feels like a long way away with symptoms going awol! 😥 POAS this morning and it looks spot on for where I should be, so trying to take some comfort from that 🤞🤞🤞

@Chooklass I bet they were less nervous not only because they didn't have to think about scan results but also not having access to google. On the other hand my aunt had late 3 mc before they realized she had a thyroid issue. What are you knitting?

Viletta · 14/02/2020 20:57

@MrsLouB I didn't bother testing again with cb to see 3+

Viletta · 14/02/2020 21:22

@MrsLouB I didn't bother testing again with cb to see 3+. It's not massively accurate and I didn't want to be all nervous around a test.

Chooklass · 15/02/2020 06:36

@Viletta I’m working on a cardigan for myself! I usually knit most days on my commute but I’ve been so tired I’ve not been doing so much the last two weeks. Are you still working on a baby blanket?

Wimbledon1 · 15/02/2020 08:54

Happy scan day @Viletta let us know how it all goes! 😃

Does everyone commute by train? I do and it's from suburban London (as my username probably gives away) and I'm dreading being hit by sickness on the train because it's absolutely packed. Ugh....I need something like knitting to distract me!

Chooklass · 15/02/2020 09:22

I’m a bus commuter, from East Lothian into Edinburgh. The potential sickness issue also crossed my mind - would make things very difficult 😬. Ok so far ... 🤞

Good luck today @Viletta ❤️

FlapJackered · 15/02/2020 09:51

Good luck @Viletta !! Very exciting!! 🤞

Has anyone else started getting morning sickness yet? I hear it often kicks in at 6 weeks but so far I feel fine except for the zombie level exhaustion!

Wimbledon1 · 15/02/2020 12:38

I'm actually not sure @FlapJackered - which I know sounds a weird thing to say! A few days this week, especially yesterday, I've not felt too good. But then it's passed. I'm slightly wondering if it's like the thing I said about the cars on the road again, you only notice them when you are looking.

Does feel this might be a later arriving symptom than we might think, if none of us on this group have been sick yet. We can't surely have all escaped it?!

Viletta · 15/02/2020 13:24

Hi all, the scan went great! All good and the heart is beating. I was surprised they didn’t do a transvaginal as the pictures would have been much clearer. They didn’t do a dipper ether to see the exact heartbeat rate. They say they can see it’s all looking very good and the exact number at this early stage would only make parents nervous as the normal range is to wide.

I tested up a bit when I saw this little heart beating ❤️❤️❤️ Hope you all have a wonderful weekend despite the rain!

Viletta · 15/02/2020 13:29

"Teared up"

QuantumGirl · 15/02/2020 13:45

Aw @Viletta that's lovely ❤️❤️❤️
@Wimbledon1 I also commute by train for 1hr on tfl to the city. No sickness here at all so far.
Today I had my roots done. I asked my hairdresser for a less chemically loaded hair dye and only on the roots. No matter how much you read it's safe and fine I'm still worried and feeling guilty about it. 😕. My scan has been booked for the 3rd of March 🥰 on the ivf clinic then after that I need to go to my GP and fill in the midwife form. Had a look at the maternities in my area and none look that great by nhs standards 😩.

Chooklass · 15/02/2020 14:44

That’s so lovely @Viletta !! So glad it went well! Xx

twinkleyes35 · 15/02/2020 15:05

Wow beautiful pic @Viletta 🤗🥰👍🏻 I bet you are bit relaxed now xx

FlapJackered · 15/02/2020 16:20

Aw congratulations @Viletta ❤️❤️❤️ I felt quite emotional seeing your scan picture so god knows what I will be like with my own! 🙈

twinkleyes35 · 15/02/2020 16:25

Mine is on 2nd March (8 +1 ) seems so far away . When is everyone else's I know most of yous have around 7 weeks ? X ☺️

Viletta · 15/02/2020 16:55

Thank you everyone:)) it was amazing seeing the heartbeat movement. Definitely feeling more relaxed now and I think I'll just try to enjoy the whole thing till the next 12 week scan.

BambiOnIce80 · 15/02/2020 17:23

Absolutely beautiful picture @Viletta!! 😍 I've also got a tear in my eye looking at it - a happy tear, of course! 😊 I can only hope that we get the same kind of good news as yours on Tuesday 🔮🤞

I'm a train commuter too @Wimbledon1 and like you I haven't had any morning sickness yet, but I have had occasions where I don't feel good on the train (usually when I'm faffing on my phone or reading 🤢). It's worried me enough about vomming on my fellow commuters, so I've invested in some sick bags to try and protect them (if not my dignity! 🙄):

Cleanis CareBag Absorbent Sick Vomit Bags, Pack 20 Sickness Bags www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0051AZZCM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_WwcsEb7F3R55D?tag=mumsnetforu03-21

I've come home from our weekend away to our midwife pack through the letter box (which is a bit exciting! 🤩 😊). There's fewer options on where to deliver than I thought there'd be, but I think our nearest option has a reasonable reputation 👍 Sorry to hear that yours doesn't look great @QuantumGirl 💐 Are you allowed to change areas? I know in Scotland there's a certain amount of flexibility with that kind of thing.x

My pack arrived today too @BambiOnIce80!

BambiOnIce80 · 15/02/2020 19:19

Excellent stuff @Chooklass! 🤩 What do you think of it? 🤔 I've already noticed that there's conflicting information between the appointment letter for the 12 week scan and the info pack! 😕 The appointment letter says that you need to drink a litre (😱) of water an hour before the scan and the info pack says you just need to drink 500mls... after nearly peeing in the consultants face during ET after the litre of water, I think I'll be going for the 500mls if I can get away with it!💦 😂

Talking of drinking water, was anyone told if they needed to drink any before the 7/8 week viability scan? I'm thinking of maybe necking 500mls on the way there, just in case 🤔

Viletta · 15/02/2020 20:17

@BambiOnIce80 the doctor today said well done for having full bladder. I had two cups of tea before the appointment so must have been 600 ml and was not at all bursting.

Viletta · 15/02/2020 20:19

@Chooklass I bet you can't wait to start knitting for the babe. I'm only thinking about the blanket, I think I'll start it after week 20.

I didn't get a pack.. I thought I'd get it with my midwifery appointment. Or can GP be slow here?

BambiOnIce80 · 15/02/2020 20:40

500-600mls it is then for Tuesday, thanks @Viletta 😘

On the info pack front, I think every area can be different. I don't think they give the info pack out in the county next to mine until the actual midwife booking appointment - there's so much variation! 🤷‍♀️

Well, Sprocket has been quite quiet today but I'm feeling a tiny bit queasy and very tired, so I'm going to listen to my body and have a super early night 😴 DP is delighted as this means he can geek out for hours on end undisturbed by me! 🎮😏

FlapJackered · 15/02/2020 21:13

@BambiOnIce80 my DH is exactly the same with the 🎮. He has taken full advantage of my zombieness and early nights!
I love that you have bought sick bags! 😂

I am jealous of your midwife packs!
I rang the midwife on Monday and it was just an answering machine telling me to leave information and they will call me to arrange an appointment but I've not heard a sausage from them. Not sure how long to leave it before leaving another message. Maybe Monday? I know they are super busy so I don't want to hassle them but at the same time a week is quite a long time no?

Viletta · 15/02/2020 21:20

Mine loves 🎮 too, boys 😁
