@lilice we're pretty much at the same stage. I'm 16 weeks on Saturday :)

I rang my doctors this morning and my appointment is going ahead in person next Tuesday so it must massively vary between trusts/practices.

pangolin84 · 08/04/2020 12:21

Hi all, I have been quiet On here for a while but it’s been nice to keep up with how everybody is getting on. I got a call this morning to say that my 16 week appointment next Tuesday will be done over the phone. Not really sure if I’m disappointed or not? This is baby no. 1 so I have no idea what would normally happen. It’s weird to think I won’t know how the little one is doing until the 20 week scan. But maybe that would have been the case without this virus. So sad that my husband won’t be able to come to the scan but understand why they’re doing it.

ChipsAreLife · 08/04/2020 13:36

@flameprincess I felt the same. Was a let down. Would have loved to hear the heartbeat but I understand why we can't.

Yeah @shiningstarz there are loads of things you may not need to buy before birth. For example a breast pump. I didn't and BF both times for 9 months. I did get a pump after a while but not until I knew I needed it.

@lilice it's so hard not being able to look at stuff!!! I would maybe wait till beginning of June and see where we are then?

Hi everyone how r you feeling?
Such a good weather and I am working in the pharmacy... I just want to be in the sun.
I feel very heavy to be honest and I have back pain... I thought I felt the baby move the other day but maybe it is just gas lol
And I downloaded an app called Shell, I could actually find my baby's heartbeat! I was so impressed! But it took me a while to find it and sometimes I can't find it bevvasue the baby is not in the right position to hear the heart beat.
I just thought I could tell u guys about the app. I had my 16 weeks appointment on the phone too.
And 21st of April I will have my 20 weeks scan hopefully that would not be cancelled!
Have a lovely day ladies

Piper1879 · 08/04/2020 15:56

Has anyone felt any movements ? I think I have some times in the morning and in the evenings , I'm 19 weeks tomorrow. Feels like tapping in my stomach 🤣 not sure if I'm meant to have a pattern yet

Lazydaisydaydream · 08/04/2020 16:39

@Piper1879 I think they say not to worry about any pattern until 24 weeks. I love feeling the baby move! So exciting and makes me feel like I'm actually pregnant instead of just a bit fat Grin

Lilice · 08/04/2020 17:47

@MooseWL so we are! When are you due ? I'm due the 25th

ShiningStarz · 08/04/2020 17:47

I’m so sorry for those of you that have had 16 weeks appt cancelled. Seems like every area is different. Where I am, the appts still going ahead but it’s literally 10 mins in and out.

I thought I had feelings around week 12 but unsure. Nothing really now, I’m 17w 4d. I heard it’s more common to feel
Something between 18-20 weeks. Excited but little freaked out at little one wriggling in there!!

Lilice · 08/04/2020 17:55

@ChipsAreLife yes I think I'm going to be patient and stop being paranoid lol. But its hard not to when everything I want at the moment is out of stock like today when I tried to buy a bra online Confused

Roxy8203 · 08/04/2020 19:17

I'd heard Doppler apps aren't very safe. I don't know how true that is but would do some research before you use them

ShiningStarz · 08/04/2020 22:36

@Lilice I bought a black / white set from
New look today. You might get something you like on there

sianyflewog · 09/04/2020 07:58

Hi all!
Feel a bit like I’m gatecrashing but wondered if you’d mind me joining you. I’m 16 weeks, due 20th September.

Chanel05 · 09/04/2020 08:16

Hi all I'm 17+2 today. My nausea finally went at about 16+1and hasn't returned. My boobs aren't sore at all now either. They weren't hugely sore to begin with, just around the outsides. I'm looking for reassurance really to see how everyone else is feeling? I heart the heartbeat last Thursday so I'm sure that all is fine and I'm just in the okay phase now but cant help but worry!

sianyflewog · 09/04/2020 08:29

@Chanel05 Side effects typically go once in the second trimester, and if you heard a heartbeat then that’s a real positive. I understand your concerns though - I can’t wait for the 20 week scan to be done with, and to have solid, regular movements for reassurance!

Roxy8203 · 09/04/2020 13:00

Hello @sianyflewog Comgrats and welcome along

Lilice · 09/04/2020 15:48

@Chanel05 my nausea is also gone now. Im 16 weeks tomorrow. I think it's been gone for a couple of weeks now. I still get nauseous at times but very briefly. My.boobs are still sore though, and they're massive like bazookas I hate it. @ShiningStarz thanks for the tip. I spotted a dress on new look so might place an order for everything. I bought a sports bra on h and m and it's too small!!!! Ahhh why are my boobs so big??

Piper1879 · 09/04/2020 16:32

@Lazydaisydaydream oh yes definitely, makes a difference!!

@chanel05 I was nauseated 24/7 until about 15 weeks , I feel relatively good now at 19 weeks 1day , sore boobs on and off and backache but people say that it happens in the second trimester

@Shiningstarz my 16 app wasn't very long either , in and out. I am worried that it will soon turn to phone calls which worries me but we are in weird times aren't we ?

sianyflewog · 09/04/2020 16:40

@Lilice New Look sell maternity bras by size up to an E cup if that’s any good for you? I’m struggling being unable to get measured - last pregnancy I went up one back size, and one cup size so try that? She also recommended buying so it fits your back on the smallest setting so that as you get bigger through your pregnancy you’ve got the extra clasps available, plus the give as the elastic stretches. The maternity bras from M&S also have 4 clasps so lots of growing room.

Lorna198 · 09/04/2020 18:15

Welcome and congratulations @sianyflewog!

I’m so impatient waiting to feel the baby move! Nearly 18 weeks though so shouldn’t be long!

Did anyone have the quad blood test? I did but they never said when the results will be. I’m guessing I’ll get them at 20 week scan on 29th though.

Hope everyone enjoys (as much as we can anyway) the Easter weekend!

ShiningStarz · 09/04/2020 19:44

Welcome @sianyflewog and congrats 😊

@Lorna198 I had the harmony test and got results back today. All ok. Didn’t get the report though as it states the sex and partner doesn’t want to know!!

I’v been looking at bugaboo chameleon prams, Ergobaby carrier and a 360 car seat.. seems to be Easter sales on! I’m almost 18 weeks and really want to wait until I pass 20 weeks, decisions decisions!! What are all
You first timers doing?

ShiningStarz · 09/04/2020 19:46

Haha @Lilice I’m a 34C but I think I’m wearing incorrect bra size and can’t go now to get measured so just ordered 34C 2 pack off new look

My H&M delivery arrived at the pick up point but the delivery never said courier actually delivered!! Just incase any of you are waiting for parcels!!

Lilice · 09/04/2020 19:53

@sianyflewog @ShiningStarz thank you I'll have a look on new look although I have no idea what size I am but I'll take a guess using your trick @sianyflewog . I just wish my boobs would slow down, what am I going to be like at the end?

Lilice · 09/04/2020 19:55

@ShiningStarz I think I'll buy the stuff soon while it's on sale because after easter sales, is there any more sales? July sales? Is there such a thing?

sianyflewog · 09/04/2020 20:17

I only ever bought the one size bigger so fingers crossed. I don’t remember at how many weeks that was though! I also just bought really soft crop top style bras to wear at home & to bed as I needed that bit of support.

@ShiningStarz I have an ergobaby 360 carrier - we used it so much for my little boy! I also have the Joie 360 car seat which we bought when he outgrew the car seat from our travel system (at about 9 months); the 360 is worth every penny, we’re still using it and he’s a tall 3 year old and it really saves my back!

ShiningStarz · 09/04/2020 20:26

@sianyflewog
Can I ask a stupid question!!
Obviously the 360 degrees seat stays in the car I presume? Do you transfer baby to the pram to go in the house for example?
I don’t know if I can get a compatible 360 car seat with the bugaboo chameleon 🙈
