That’s great @emma278

Hi @Sunshinexx95 I read that about Sweden! Can’t quite believe it!! Such a strange strategy! Hope you are ok and staying positive xx

Piper1879 · 04/04/2020 18:49

@emma278 I'm pleased it went well for you ! I managed a private gender scan just before the lockdown which I'm grateful for

@Sunshinexx95 thinking of you ! Keep safe !

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend

Lilice · 04/04/2020 20:59

Lovely news @MooseWL and @emma278 glad to know all is well

Lilice · 04/04/2020 21:03

I think I'm going to go ahead and buy the travel system. I'm worried of things running out of stock. Am I being paranoid? Is anyone else already buying big stuff?

ShiningStarz · 04/04/2020 21:59

@Lilice I have been looking but not planning on buying anything until the end of June. That’ll make me 30 weeks. I just don’t want to rush in to buying things now. I’m interested to know are any first timers buying things already?

ShiningStarz · 04/04/2020 22:10

I’v been being nosey online and I can’t find any Plain white sleepsuits / vests in newborn size 😩 who knows when production will resume! Next have shut down their website for ordering!!! Mmm slightly worrying maybe?!

ChipsAreLife · 05/04/2020 07:46

Ha ha @mosseWL glad the latter came!

@emma lovely news 😊

@Lilice go for it. It's such an odd time who knows when things will go back to normal. The reason a few of my clients have stopped is because they've run out of products due to production closures so on that basis I would go for it. I'm actually looking at buying some bits sooner than later when normally I would leave till last minute!

@shiningstarz I know I found this. I'm hoping when shops re open there will be more in there! We do have some time and worse case my baby will just have to be 'gender fluid' for it's first few weeks 🤣

ShiningStarz · 05/04/2020 08:52

Haha @ChipsAreLife I was thinking the same thing!! I’m bound to have friends and their friends etc that have newborns now (I can think of 2) that might want to donate clothing! I don’t want to ask though until I’m further along. I think if things haven’t changed by the end of May I’ll start ordering everything. Any colour will do!! It’s a scary time!!

ShiningStarz · 05/04/2020 09:12

Almost everything back in stock on mamas and papas!

I can’t bring myself to order anything! I’ll just take a chance in a month or 2!!

ShiningStarz · 05/04/2020 09:48

I had the harmony blood test last week. Should get the results by the end of this week.. I’m nervous. My age (38) being the main risk. I just really hope all is ok 🤞❤️

Roxy8203 · 05/04/2020 12:05

@ShiningStarz I'm 38 in June so was concerned this would be an issue but my nt results came back low risk

ShiningStarz · 05/04/2020 12:31

@Roxy8203 that’s great, did you get the harmony? X

ShiningStarz · 05/04/2020 12:42

They don’t do NT where I am so the only I had was the harmony 😩

Roxy8203 · 05/04/2020 12:43

@ShiningStarz no I was happy with my results so didn't do it in the end

MooseWL · 05/04/2020 17:16

@shiningstarz 🤞🏻your results come back okay. I'm baffled by the northern ireland not offering the tests. Seems crackers to me.
My partner bought me a maternity pillow this morning as I've hurt my back and ribs. Not sure if it's from sleeping or over strenuous yoga yesterday but I'm struggling to get comfy on my side at night and feel like I'm waking up and turning over every half an hour so excited to try the pillow! I've just hit 15 weeks and touch wood the nausea has been limited today. I'm excited to feel vaguely normal again although I'm already feeling weird about my stomach growing!

flameprincess · 05/04/2020 23:31

Going for my blood test tomorrow - think it's the one you guys are talking about - to check for risk of downs etc? They couldn't do measurements at my scan as baby wouldn't face the right way. Feeling super nervous having to go to the hospital, we've had 3 nurses die there - almost want to not go but I know these checks are important and just grateful I can still attend. Will be very anxious though...

Lazydaisydaydream · 06/04/2020 08:41

@flameprincess hope your blood test goes OK. They'll have put all sorts of extra measures in place - at my local hospital they've moved the blood clinic next to the entrance to the hospital so that you don't have to walk through any other areas and its kept separate, and all the staff wear PPE and the waiting area is arranged so that people aren't sat together.

flameprincess · 06/04/2020 11:20

It went well was in and out pretty fast thankfully - got weighed too and I've lost half a stone - probably a combo of not drinking wine and having terrible appetite at the moment. I can't finish a meal for the life of me - need to make an effort to do the 'little and often' thing I guess. I'm overweight anyway so it won't do me any harm at this stage.

Hope everyone is doing well today Smile

Lorna198 · 06/04/2020 12:10

Glad it went well for you @flame. I’m a stone less than I was when I conceived also overweight so not worried at all. Think it’s my body shocked that I’m not having takeaways and Maccys brekkies every other day 😂
Started my 5th week off work and gotta admit I’m enjoying it now. Yeah it’s hard not seeing people but looking forward to the day friends can actually see I have a bump instead of just my jelly belly haha.

Hope you are doing ok over there @Sunshinexx95

Hope everyone is doing ok and has a good week!

ShiningStarz · 07/04/2020 15:24

Thanks guys! I contacted the clinic today but no result available yet. Will hopefully get it back by Friday. 🤞 just really hope everything is ok. I’m nervous about it.

Anyone bought anything yet??

I’m still looking online at various items and last night got lost in the world of baby monitors! The choice and the cost omg!! 😱

Lazydaisydaydream · 07/04/2020 18:08

@ShiningStarz you won't need a monitor until six months once you start leaving them for sleep so maybe wait and pick one up in the January sales? We bought an angelcare one secondhand but it was still in the box.

My advice would be to check the range... Our house isn't large by any stretch of the imagination but the signal doesn't reach to one side of our living room which is annoying as have to remember to put it down on the other side haha.

ShiningStarz · 07/04/2020 19:09

Thanks for the tip @Lazydaisydaydream 👍😊

flameprincess · 07/04/2020 22:38

My 16 week appointment was cancelled and done over the phone - absolutely gutted was looking forward to hearing the heartbeat as I've not got babies movements to rely on yet. Considering a private scan for peace of mind but then I talk myself out of it as should be saving money.

Not bought anything yet - don't know where to start even. I purchased so much for DS that was barely used that this time round I'm being ultra frugal! Cousin is giving me her next to me cot so that's one thing I don't need to worry about. Cautious to buy car seats/buggies just based from reviews online I think will wait till stores are open again.

Lilice · 08/04/2020 09:26

@flameprincess I feel exactly the same! I still havent had my phone appointment, still no date either. I'm 16 weeks on friday so maybe they'll contact me at the last minute. If not I'll chase them up but by the sound of it the appointment isn't even important is it? What do they tell on the phone? I feel the same about the private scan too. I'm tempted to book one but it's 60 pound and I could really use that money elsewhere. I'm still not feeling movement. I did feel a few twitches but not enough to ease my mind.
I was going to buy the travel system as I saw one for 400 quid with an iso fix base but now I'm wondering if i should get an i size car seat but dont even know if that's compatible with my car. I look at stuff then get fed up and just postpone it lol. I'll probably end up asking my husband to do it all for me lol

flameprincess · 08/04/2020 10:55

@Lilice well mine she was just asking me how I was and if I had any questions - I did following my consultant appointment but it didn't seem like she knew anything that was said to me at consultant appointment like they don't communicate with eachother or share notes? Was pretty useless really. Hope yours goes better.

I have looked at things too online and just give up I want to put my hands on them to see size etc
