@hugeagegap I know! I was thinking stop talking lol! My 20 week scan is 3 weeks tomorrow so not too long to wait.

I know I feel lucky to have savings but slightly annoyed I will have to cut leave short but hey ho. Yes I know exactly what I mean! I feel like such a hermit as I could barely go out with morning sickness first few months. I just want to go to a cafe for cake. I'm not asking for much 😆

@Lilice they put a 50k earnings cap on it. Quite frustrating as there isn't one for employed people and I've obviously paid a good amount in but I can't take any out as the chancellor said most people earning over 50 are on 200k 🤨 and don't need help. Like I said I've got savings but I do feel miffed I get nothing. I'm sorry to hear you've lost clients, it's so horrible. we are all in the same crappy boat! I hope you get the help ASAP. Can you look at mortgage breaks etc? X

I’m 16.5 weeks and don’t feel anything!
My appt is this evening tho so I am really hoping everything is ok and also hope to feel little one soon. I had read somewhere common time to feel something is 18-20 weeks

Lilice · 01/04/2020 18:49

@ChipsAreLife luckily my husband is the main earner so we will be okay financially without my earnings. Yeah it's not fair they dont treat self employed people the same as the rest. Glad you've got some savings though. Hopefully your client will return pronto.
@ShiningStarz glad I'm not the only one not feeling anything. My appointment will be over the phone so I really can't wait to start feeling something because I wont get to hear heartbeat etc for a while now and it would be reassuring to feel movements in the meantime.

Lazydaisydaydream · 01/04/2020 19:09

I'm jealous at all of those having 16 week appointments! I'm very disappointed that mine just got cancelled, I had so many questions to ask and things to talk about.

Got details through from the hospital today about how they'll be conducting appointments going forward and it really feels like the level of care has been reduced dramatically Sad I'm just hoping that things go back to normal by August/september but then feel bad for all the women due imminently!

badg3r · 01/04/2020 20:11

Evening!! Such strange times to be pregnant... I am not in the UK but my next appointment is a scan at 18 weeks. I hope it still goes ahead.

I'm feeling better than I did in the first trimester but now battling migraines and insomnia. Anyone else having similar? This will be my third baby and I feel like my body is definitely coping less well this time round. I am soooo useless round the house with the kids and cooking etc that poor DH is doing almost everything.

On top of this work is crazy busy so I feel like I spend my waking hours chained to my computer! Roll on parental leave!

Are many of you feeling movements yet? I will be 16 weeks on Friday and am starting to feel tiny things I think. On our 12 week scan this one was literally turning somersaults which might help explain it! I didn't feel anything at all with my first two till week 21.

Stay safe everyone!

ShiningStarz · 01/04/2020 20:37

I had my 16 week scan tonight. I’m going private, I’m a little older at 38 and I felt I needed the reassurance.
All ok, baby was lying very close to the cosy warm placenta so didn’t get good view but doc had a good look and checked everything including heartbeat.

The appts are reduced too even privately and only I was allowed in!

Next one at 20 weeks and then 24 weeks.

@emma278 how did you get on today?

emma278 · 01/04/2020 20:51

@ShiningStarz my midwife appt today was cancelled and done via phone yesterday. Pretty uneventful. I have a private scan booked sat to put my mind at ease til 20 week nhs one end of April. Glad all went wel for you! Xz

ShiningStarz · 01/04/2020 21:31

That’s crap that your appt was cancelled. I see your not the only one. Such a difficult time for all us pregnant ladies.
Glad you go in for a private one tho.
Hugs x

flameprincess · 01/04/2020 23:56

Sorry to hear some of you are having your 16 week appointments cancelled. I'm not feeling hopeful for mine now! The checks they do at these appointments are there for a reason clearly so I don't know why we are now not getting them?
That being said I must admit I'm nervous about being in the waiting area of a surgery... there's no easy answer is there.

ChipsAreLife · 02/04/2020 08:23

@flameprincess our care has been completely moved out of my GP surgery to maternity at the hospital. We got a text from GP surgery saying a lot of the staff are off sick and they will only be doing emergency apps now.

@badgr3 yes! My third too and I'm feeling constantly knackered!!! I could sleep for 18 hours if I could! I'm the same on movements I was well over 20 weeks first two times. I think I've felt one or two but it's so hard to tell at this stage.

@lazydaisydream why don't you call your midwife and ask them to answer your questions? You shouldn't feel fobbed off. They are there to support you.

@ShiningStarz glad the scan went well. Shame about your partner but as each day goes by I'm becoming more understanding of all these measures.

Stay home everyone and keep safe xx

Sorry to hear that a lot of your 16 week appointments have been cancelled. It seems to totally vary from one place to another. Had mine this morning and heard baby's heartbeat.

ShiningStarz · 02/04/2020 15:57

Hi everyone,

Has anyone bought any baby items yet?

I’v been researching prams just. I haven’t bought anything and I wasn’t planning to until I’m about 28 weeks.. I figure if I make a comprehensive list starting soon then I could just bang it all out online! Doubt even by June I’d feel safe to be going round the shops.

Anyone recommend a pram. The one I’v seen is bugaboo chameleon 3.

Lilice · 02/04/2020 16:28

I havent got a pram yet and need to buy a new cot plus a changing table. I've started to think about how I'm going to decorate the nursery, I've made even made a wish list on Amazon haha!
@emma278 I think you made the right choice booking a private scan. I feel like doing the same to be honest. That or buy a doppler. I've heard so many bad reviews about dopplers though, but I'm worried about not seeing a midwife for so long. I dont even have a date for my 16 week appointment which should be next week, and I have no idea when I'll see someone face to face as no one is telling me anything Confused

Lilice · 02/04/2020 16:29

Is it the norm to hear the baby's heartbeat at 16 weeks or does it vary from trust to trust?

Chanel05 · 02/04/2020 17:12

@Lilice could you get in touch with your community midwife? Mine arranged this appointment with me at my booking in appointment and we scheduled my 24 week today too.

Roxy8203 · 02/04/2020 18:25

@Shiningstarz I brought a baby rocker this week as it was on offer and the reviews were really good. I also brought a wrap sling as I'm hoping to be able to use that when the baby is very small before they go into a proper carrier. Oh and I got my breast pump coz boots had an offer on. Was looking at clothes last night but going to wait to find out the sex first

HugeAgeGap · 02/04/2020 18:26

@Lilice I don't think it's norm across trusts to hear the heartbeat at 16w. I had a 16w heartbeat done on Tuesday, with a tilted uterus and could pick it up fine so not sure why this doesn't happen everywhere. They say sometimes it's difficult to pick it up and therefore can cause more stress for Mum if it can't be found but that's the only reason I know of x

Lorna198 · 02/04/2020 18:32

@ShiningStarz I’ve started to think I should get on it while I can. I have literally no idea what I need to buy so the research is gonna keep me busy 😂 guessing my June holiday will be cancelled so the refund can pay for everything!

ShiningStarz · 02/04/2020 19:01

I’v been looking at newborn clothes and almost all neutral newborn sold out on few sites I checked!!!

@Roxy8203 did you go for the harmony test? I had it done yesterday, get the results in a week.

@lorna hehe let us know what’s on your list!!

Roxy8203 · 02/04/2020 19:08

@ShiningStarz no my test results came back 1-4500 for downs and 1-20000 for the others so didn't feel the need to get the harmony done

Lilice · 02/04/2020 19:11

@Chanel05 you're right I need to chase them up
@HugeAgeGap that's what I thought from what i read online. If I do get a doppler I'll end up stressing more if I dont find the heartbeat.
@Shiningstarz are you keeping the sex a surprise too?

Lilice · 02/04/2020 19:12

@Lorna198 Im feeling rich at the moment from the refunds I'm getting for events and holidays I can't go to anymore haha!

Piper1879 · 02/04/2020 19:15

@Lilice I had my 16 app last Friday and they didn't listen to heart beat was a bit of a waste of time to be fair , asked me simple questions and checked my urine , in and out in twenty minutes

Piper1879 · 02/04/2020 19:15

@Shiningstarz have you checked H&M , they have some lovely neutral bits !

Lorna198 · 02/04/2020 19:19

@ShiningStarz think it’s gonna be mainly alcohol on the list that’s the priority 😂😂😂

@Lilice I know the feeling 4 gigs so far plus hotels so I’m gonna be rolling in it lol
