@Chanel05 i remember feeling that way when I was expecting my son. It was like my bump wanted to pop out but my abs were holding everything in. It was so uncomfortable! Eventually my muscles gave in but my bump was always on the smaller side (but measuring spot on) and quite tight lol

Lilice · 29/03/2020 16:44

Welcome @Sunflower1608! Wow twins! How are you feeling?

flameprincess · 30/03/2020 00:31

Hello all - late joiner Smile

My 2nd pregnancy but large gap (DS is 11) - baby due date is day after his birthday so he's not too impressed with me!

At the 14 week mark now. Keep getting a feeling in my lower tummy like stitch if I move too fast - anyone else experiencing this?

Sunflower1608 · 30/03/2020 03:36

@Lilice I was rather shocked, was so adamant after my third no more. Then we decided what's one more lol. Got more then we bargained more. It feels so surreal that I have two mini humans inside of me. Still feeling quite sick and exhausted, especially with still working and having 3 kids at home to chase after them doing school work

@flameprincess I get that sometimes, or when I'm lying a bit twisted or over stretched. I think it's stretching of the ligaments

Lazydaisydaydream · 30/03/2020 08:16

@flameprincess I think it's the ligaments stretching.

Welcome to the newbies! Flowers

ChipsAreLife · 30/03/2020 08:24

Welcome @Sunflower1608 and @flameprincess!

Yes I get those pains especially if I get up fast!

Wow twins! How exciting. I bet you're knackered. I have a 3 and 5 year old and WFH with them is 🤪

I'm finding time is starting to speed up, is anyone else? I thought it would slow down with the lockdown but it doesn't seem to be. We are making the most of it and sorting the house jobs that need doing. How's everyone else coping? X

HugeAgeGap · 30/03/2020 08:57

@flameprincess ditto the age gap. My son is also 11. How is yours taking the news? Mine not that impressed!! xx

Lorna198 · 30/03/2020 09:26

@Sunflower1608 @flameprincess congratulations and welcome!

@ChipsAreLife I’m pottering in the house too. Also started on the jungle we have outside. And by the amount of weeds there is I need time to go slow 😂

flameprincess · 30/03/2020 10:43

Thanks all - I figured it was normal but I remember barely anything from first pregnancy!

@HugeAgeGap well he went from being totally dumbfounded and not talking about it for 2 weeks (as if I hadn't told him) to then finally asking me small questions here and there. Such as do I want a boy or girl? Also more importantly to him "Do I have to share my room?" Grin (no of course not)

Now he's gone back to being not interested. I don't think I would be much at his age either to be honest - I'm sure it will feel real soon enough.

How did yours take the news?

flameprincess · 30/03/2020 10:46

@Sunflower1608 twins oh my gosh, how exciting! Does the pregnancy feel much different so far to your others?

HugeAgeGap · 30/03/2020 12:43

@flameprincess yeah mines very similar to you! We told him a few weeks ago, couple weeks after 12w scan and same as you, he was shocked and didn't really think it was real at first so didn't talk about it.

Since then he's asked what it will be called, that's about it. He refers to the baby as "he" a lot so I don't think he's got his head around potentially having a sister! We're not gonna find out either. I hope for his sake we do have a boy as I think he'll really enjoy having a little brother, more so than a sister but I don't mind either way.

We did have a more positive chat yesterday and offered him the choice of which bedroom he has and he is excited by the idea of moving into our bigger spare bedroom with the baby having the smaller one, so that went down well!

Bar that, I don't think he's really thought any further about the impact of this on his life!

ChipsAreLife · 30/03/2020 13:51

I've just had my midwife app cancelled. Will be a phone now. My 20 week consultant app will also be a phone call. They've moved all midwife care out of the GPs and to hospital. My midwife sounded really stressed and down on the phone, so I tried to be as understanding and nice as I could as I bet they're getting a lot of grief over something they don't want to be doing 😪

Luckily it's not too long till 20 week scan so I've got that which will hopefully give me reassurance!

@flameprincess and @HugeAgeGap my eldest son (13) is horrified to be having another sibling besides 2 🤣 he cried when we told him. Since then he has just been sarcastic, but think thats his ways of showing acceptance. I think he will be ok as long as it's not two girls. My daughter was a bit of a hurricane when younger and they drive each other mental now lol.

@flameprincess I've gotten bigger alot quicker then anticipated. I have rather large bump already so terrified how huge I'm going to end up. Also my previous pregnancies my morning sickness lasted to 9wk. I still have intermittent waves of nausea and vomitting, particularly at night.

Lilice · 30/03/2020 14:29

@Sunflower1608 must be hard work having to work from home, homeschool three kids plus carry twins! Well done to you!

@ChipsAreLife yeah I feel sorry for the midwives, can't be easy for them easy. I've also got a consultant appointment in a few weeks because I had a c section last time (breech baby Angry) and was wondering if that would also be cancelled or over the phone. I guess I got my answer now

Lilice · 30/03/2020 14:30

Is anyone using a pregnancy pillow and happy to recommend one? I need to order one in before they decide to close all factories, just in case...

flameprincess · 30/03/2020 14:37

My consultant appointment is meant to be Wednesday but he called me unexpectedly last Thursday to say he wanted to do it then and over the phone. There was a lot I wanted to talk about and ask but I was so taken aback by having no notice I didn't get what I wanted out of the call. I have a slight bladder prolapse that I've been told will need an operation when I'm in my 40's (I'm 33 currently) and would be aggravated by childbirth. So even though it's been a long time since first birth I would like a C-section again. He glazed over this and suggested I go for natural birth, go into theatre straight after for the corrective surgery and get sterilised! I was quite gobsmacked after the call am looking forward to talking to my midwife next week....

Sunflower1608 · 30/03/2020 14:39

@Lilice my partner bought me a pregnancy pillow off Amazon. It's a little on the pricey side, but it's my favourite position. It honestly has completed my life 🤣

flameprincess · 30/03/2020 14:45

Oh my gosh I've been looking at those huge pillows longingly but not made the jump yet.... If you have it in bed though does it not leave much room for your partner? Grin

emma278 · 30/03/2020 15:20

@flameprincess my husband loves mine because he says it keeps me on my side of the bed 😂😂

Lazydaisydaydream · 30/03/2020 15:46

@flameprincess I have a big pillow like this from my last pregnancy and honestly it was one of the best baby related things I bought! Made such a difference to my sleep. It does take up a lot of room in the bed but we have a superking so it's not too bad.

lbe0 · 30/03/2020 15:47

I'm 15 weeks and 1 day today, due 20th September! Nervous about all of this and gutted to miss out on lots of 'first pregnancy' experiences. Just wondering what to do about missing out on antenatal sessions, it just feels like nothing else online is going to make up for them! :(

@Sunflower1608 I also bought that pregnancy pillow, it is a DREAM! x

Samk79 · 30/03/2020 16:39

I told my kids our news at the weekend, my daughter is 17 and my son 12. They weren't horrified which I was relieved about but my son keeps asking lots of questions including was it an accident! Lol. He wants us to find out the sex as he doesn't want a sister!

MooseWL · 30/03/2020 16:40

@sunflower1608 omg that looks amazing. I think I need that. And if partner complains I will go down the usual "you did this to me" route and tell him to go to the spare bed 😂

ChipsAreLife · 30/03/2020 17:16

@Lilice it may vary from trust but I'm Oxfordshire and everything is being done on phone now. To be honest I'm fine with it for consultant ones!

@flameprincess speak to your midwife I'm really surprised they've not advised a section for you! You can always see another consultant I believe to get another opinion.

I'm fairly sure I'll be having another section which I'm ok with. It's all I know!

That pillow looks amazing! I may need to get one!!!!
