@Lorna198 I have also been an absolute nightmare the last few days. My anxiety is at an all time high over everything out of my control. Been an emotional mess!
Here's hoping I can get it under control today and going forward xxx

emma278 · 20/03/2020 09:37

Phoned midwife, was useless, normally wed say go to A&E but cant at the moment so sure its nothing just keep an eye or call gp.

Called gp who was much better. Said it doesnt sound serious as no pain of bleeding or smell but made appointment for me to go in Monday afternoon to check urine and full checkover. Basically i just want to know its not amniotic fluid!!!! Xx

ShiningStarz · 20/03/2020 15:07

Omg girls I so feel your anxieties.
I am so used to helping my parents and other family members that this distancing is really making me feel a bit depressed.
I’m glad iv my partner here.
I dread how people on their own and in particular the elderly who are now totally isolating are feeling 😢

@emma278 I hope you are ok.
I had a little brown when wiped yesterday and again this morning With slight cramps. Phone back if your not happy, nurses will have change shifts.

The emergency unit let me go in this morning and looked at my cervix and said it was old blood, they did do a Doppler and I heard the heart beat. Very relieved but so anxious this morning. Waiting for urine to come back as had trace blood and protein in it and they took a swab.

emma278 · 20/03/2020 15:20

I am really worried but its just so hard to know whats normal and whats not. Ive had a panty liner on since this morning a really thin on, its still stuck on and just damp with no colouring.

Neither gp not midwife seemed to consider leaking amniotic they only seemed to care about infection.

The midwife seemed to suggest because im under 18 weeks they wont deal with me all gp or a&e

Xx

emma278 · 20/03/2020 15:21

@ShiningStarz glad all is ok for you though xx

ShiningStarz · 20/03/2020 15:40

@emma278 iv had the same watery discharge for ages now and have had no issues. Try not to worry. I’d presume if it was amniotic fluid it would be paired with really strong cramps and pain.
Honestly everyday my pants are damp xx

emma278 · 20/03/2020 15:56

Thanks @ShiningStarz thats really helpful.

Just praying everything is ok xx

ChipsAreLife · 21/03/2020 08:12

@emma278 try not to worry. Like shining says if it was accompanied by other symptoms but I'm having the same and not worried as it doesn't smell!

Ugh this is just such a crap time. We just all have to keep safe as possible. It's completely rubbish partners can't come to scans etc but we have to protect the NHS, to me that's more important in the scheme of things. Someone suggested maybe having a phone on loud speaker which could be nice 🥰

My GPS text saying all apps are cancelled. I've not heard from them about midwife app and I can't get hold of them. I assume they just go ahead? I could text midwife I guess to check. Mine isn't for another week and a half so god knows what will change between now and then!!!!

How's everyone coping? I've found working from home with the kids really tough. DH has had all his projects stopped so he can have them but they're so bloody noisy and keep interrupting me! But I'm finding time is flying for some reason?!

Let's just hope that this calms down sooner than later. I feel for everything due in the next couple of months though x

Hello ladies, it's such a worrying time at the min. I had my dating scan Monday which all looked good. I got my screening results back weds which were 1 in 104 😞I've opted for further testing and have a cvs on Tuesday.

I work in the Nhs in the community. I couldn't get any answers about what I should and shouldn't be doing. I'm really worried about having to go into isolation and not being able to have the test done. My boss has given me a different role and agreed I can work from home.

My job was a secondment for a few months which I now can't do. I feel guilty that I can't do my job and support my colleagues but also worried sick about my test.

We haven't told many people yet, not even my older two kids and it's so tough 😞

Roxy8203 · 21/03/2020 08:46

@ChipsAreLife my next appointment will be my 20 scan next month, I said to my other half if he isn't allowed to come we will book a private scan so he doesn't miss out.
I hope you manage to get more work down with the kids at home next week.

@Samk79 sorry to hear about your test result, not what you need at this worrying time, more stress. I hope it all works out ok and the next tests come back with a better result for you xx

emma278 · 21/03/2020 09:17

@ChipsAreLife thanks for that it seems a bit better this morning so keeping everything crossed its just normal. So hard to know when youve not been through it before.

@Samk79 thinking of you and hoping for positive results!! Xx

pangolin84 · 21/03/2020 11:56

Hi everyone. Very worrying times, it’s hard to know what we should be doing. I work in the NHS but not frontline and I do have the ability to work from home, however my boss was insisting that I should still go in. I got quite upset and they finally backed down and have given me tasks I can do at home, but the stress was unbelievable. Not what you need when you’re pregnant!
I had my dating scan on Tuesday and had the results yesterday - everything was low risk thank goodness.
@Samk79 hope the CVS goes ok - the screening comes up with a lot of “high risk” results that are actually fine so we all have our fingers crossed that’s the case for you.

ChipsAreLife · 23/03/2020 10:51

Morning all, well at least the sun is out!!!!

RCOG updated its guidelines over the weekend. Those 28 weeks and over need to self isolate. Those in first and second trimester are less of a concern. But I'm still avoiding anything public bar going for a 40 min walk each day.

www.rcog.org.uk/globalassets/documents/guidelines/2020-03-21-covid19-pregnancy-guidance-2118.pdf

@samk79 I'm sorry it wasn't the news you hoped for. Try not to worry too much. I grilled the sonographer and MW on it as my brother has downs. They said even a risk like yours may not come to anything with further investigation. Got everything crossed for you.

@roxy yeah we talked about a private scan but im so worried about getting the virus as kids and DH have asthma I just don't want to go anywhere. I'm a hermit!! DH will be ok I'm sure. I'm just praying that he can be there for the birth!

How's everyone doing? Anyone else stuffing their face?!

Lorna198 · 23/03/2020 11:49

@ChipsAreLife glad you are doing ok. I’m also staying away from life. Only 15 weeks but I’m off work and will stay at home. if I have to I will take unpaid leave and cope with it. Kinda hoping Greggs see sense and close soon anyway!
The sun is a big help and the with the clocks changing on Sunday that will be good for everyone too!
Also eating everything in sight and hubby is working at home so it’s constant snacks lol

ShiningStarz · 23/03/2020 16:11

Hi all just sharing this in case it might help someone else..

You may have remembered I had a little light brown discharge on pants and when wiped around week 8... turned out to be fine and from cervix.

Well the same thing has happened this weekend, from Friday-sun I had the same. Freaked out and went to emergency epu and the doctor checked out cervix using speculum and said again it’s from cervix. No issue and just happens for variety reasons. Mostly sex which we hadn’t had in the days before.. gosh it’s the littlest things that can send us into panic!!

I’m really struggling to stay awake whilst working from home. Totally unmotivated. Had a nap today at 3-4. !!

emma278 · 23/03/2020 16:29

Good to hear all is well @ShiningStarz

Im just back from Drs she said she wouldnt be able to check if it was amniotic fluid as that would need to be midwife, even though the midwives had told me they couldnt help.

Anyway she checked my urine and took a swab for infection and had a listen to babys heart with the doppler, took a while to find and was very light but heard a little gallop at 150 after a few minutes which was a relief.

I dont feel entirely better as didnt really get any answers but my discharge seems to be back to creamy white today so i guess thats the best i can hope for for now xx

ShiningStarz · 23/03/2020 17:26

Hi@emma278 that all sounds reassuring 😊
When is your next appt?
Mine is the 1st Apr

ShiningStarz · 23/03/2020 17:28

Is anyone opting for the harmony test or other genetic screening test?

I was certain I would due to my age (38) but not sure now. Would it change anything etc I’m so confused by it all.

emma278 · 23/03/2020 17:54

Mines April 1st too. @ShiningStarz 😍

MooseWL · 23/03/2020 17:57

@shiningstars I think I would opt for harmony if I got high risk from my combined test rather than go straight for amnio but if they come back low risk I'd leave it.
Had a scan today and they were able to do the measurements. I'm 13+3 Took ages though because baby was lying upside down for ages 🤣 then she decided my bladder was too full and told me to go empty half of it. Good one for pelvic floor practice haha!
Glad to see everything is fine. I had some brown discharge around week 8 and a tiny bit of pink before week 11 but I figured it was fine. I'm surprised how relaxed I am considering I'm normally quite an anxious person!

I'm still being sick a lot so I'm not eating everything yet!
Has anyone got bumps yet. I can finally see a tiny difference in my waist expanding but not really noticeable yet!

ShiningStarz · 23/03/2020 18:18

Thanks @MooseWL great to hear your scan went well! Funny I had to empty my bladder and wait 30 minutes and baby was in right position! I spent so long thinking I was going to wet myself too!!!

I’v been in maternity jeans the last 3 weeks!! I think back then, it was mostly air from
Hormones!

Did the doctor tell you what your NT downs measurement was at the scan? As far as I’v read this can only be done between weeks 11-13. My doctor just told me all was ok but didn’t tell me the measurement. I presume it’s an automatic check they do as part of the 12 week check?

ShiningStarz · 23/03/2020 18:19

Yay @emma278
Did your doctor discuss the above with you?

MooseWL · 23/03/2020 18:37

@shiningstarz they can do it before 14 weeks.
The sonographer didn't tell me measurement but it's written on my notes so I know what it is.
It's in the normal range but they combine that with the blood test results they also did today. They said results could take up to 2 weeks but if there's any concerns a midwife would be in touch sooner.

emma278 · 23/03/2020 18:59

@ShiningStarz sorry baby brain, did the dr discuss which thing with me?

ShiningStarz · 23/03/2020 22:02

The NT measurement

I went through my notes and there is no mention of it.. I’m 15.5 weeks now so I hope either the hospital or my private cons did it!!! I’ll find out next week 🤞
