Gosh reading your messages it’s just all awful.
I got a call this morning and all the antenatal appts are cancelled. No education on anything. I’m literally on amazon and will order books I can read!!

JoJoTheresNoLimit · 18/03/2020 17:08

Hi all - late to the thread, but can I join?
I'm 14 + 4 and due on 12 September. Miracle natural conception whilst waiting for body to settle itself down between IVF egg collection in November and a planned frozen embryo transfer in Spring this year.
I've had an early scan and 2 private scans before my "12 week" scan last week. I'm a naturally anxious person so needed reassurance. I'll probably have to book in another private scan before the 20week scan at the end of April.
I'm now on enforced working from home and anxiety is through the roof with everything that's going on...
It'll be nice to share with people in same situation Smile

emma278 · 18/03/2020 18:01

Ladies I feel like the tmi questions are ok here but sorry if this is gross? I keep noticing my underwear is damp. But not with creamy discharge anymore, just kind of wet almost like sweat or something. Should this be something worry about?

Xx

MooseWL · 18/03/2020 18:12

Hey @JoJotheresnolimit welcome! Congratulations! Other than the anxiety over what's happening (which is a totally normal reaction) how have you been feeling?

Are any of you ladies still on the sickness train? 12+3 for me today and defo getting worse!

Emma I think unless you're bleeding or leaking a lot of fluid you don't need to be worried, just hormonal changes.

ShiningStarz · 18/03/2020 18:24

Welcome @JoJoTheresNoLimit congrats!! What a lovely happy story to hear 😊 Snap with the anxiety! I can’t believe this is the start of a 12-16 week isolation period! Just mad but definitely the safest things for us all If we can all do it.

@emma278 I’m the same! I have mixture of white creamy discharge and just wet. It’s just the hormones.

emma278 · 18/03/2020 18:31

Thanks ladies! Thats made me feel better. As if we dont have enough to worry about at the moment!! Xx

HugeAgeGap · 18/03/2020 19:11

@MooseWL I'm 14w and still continuing with the nausea. It comes in waves now though rather than constant, and only obvious things set it off so things have definitely improved so hopefully they will for you too x

MooseWL · 18/03/2020 20:42

@hugeagegap I'm going to never take for granted not feeling sick ever again (I so will!) still throwing up after most meals. I'm going to write a book on vomit during my isolation I think hahaha.

JoJoTheresNoLimit · 18/03/2020 21:17

Thanks @MooseWL and @ShiningStarz Smile
I've actually been feeling fine. From about 6-12 weeks I was desperately thirsty and wee-ing like a trooper and from 10 weeks I've been super like "jet-lagged" tired! I think I'm coming out the other side of that though - hopefully!
I've luckily not felt sick at all but I didn't have any reactions to the IVF drugs either, so maybe I'm just very lucky in that sense xx

Lazydaisydaydream · 18/03/2020 21:48

Feeling very anxious and confused about everything at the moment. So I'm meant to be socially distancing...but my husband still has to go to work every day and therefore is in contact with all sorts of people. So how is this working? And then the idea of staying away from both sets of grandparents for 12 weeks...making me very upset.

I have a hospital appointment this week that I cannot miss. I will have to leave my toddler with my MIL because that feels like the lesser of two evils (as dont want to take him to the hospital) but she works and so really I should be socially isolating from her as well? I'm just getting so overly anxious and upset.

ChipsAreLife · 19/03/2020 07:28

Welcome @JoJoTheresNoLimit how lovely for you! I had the thirst too!!

@emma yep constantly got wet pants. Such a magical time 😅

@mosseWL @hugeagegap 15 weeks and wait up at 4 am with morning sickness without fail. Bonus is I've only put on 3lbs despite being housebound a lot and not exercising!

@lorna I don't think anyone's been though anything like this before. Things are unlikely to be the same for some time, if ever really. I'm a really positive person and laid back but it's becoming clear that this is life changing. We've just got to stay positive as much as we can.

@lazydaisydream I hear you. It's so confusing. Trouble is things are so moving so fast the govt is going it's best to mange things but there are so many gaps in information for now. Could your DH stay home with your DD whilst you have the scan? I know it's hard but the advice is to keep kids away from grandparents 😔

I am on day 8 of isolation and the rest of the family day 4. It's ok as I can work from home! And yesterday I finally started to feel better so whatever virus I had is gone thank god! My youngest has it now and we are waiting to see if my eldest and DH get it.

The schools closing is so devastating. I feel for the GCSE and A level kids so much. For those who will have the kids at home I have tips! Get loads of extra snacks as mine eat loads!! Try get them involved in cooking as they enjoy it and passes time. Especially baking!! I've given my chores to do like make their beds and help hoover (it's not perfect 😆) and I ordered loads of activity books of amazon!

It's very hard to get excited about the baby at this time, it feels like such an after thought for me but when I feel down I start looking at baby clothes and bits to get excited again!

Hope you guys are all well. X

@ChipsAreLife I feel quite like you with this, I'm very laid back person too but finally can see this is going to have a huge impact on everything we once knew.

Am also feeling like being pregnant is a real inconvenience right now and hardly think about it or discuss it with what's going on globally. My pregnancy feels very insignificant right now!! I feel quite rubbish at times just thinking about what bad timing getting pregnant was and kinda wish I wasn't so that I could be more help with things in the community and not such a high risk burden!!

Am hoping if every1 follows the social distancing guidance we will come out of this sooner rather than later and the impact not as catastrophic as it could be. That's what I'm clinging on too! x

ShiningStarz · 19/03/2020 09:32

I couldn’t wait to go shopping with my partner after our 20 week scan to pick a few things together for the baby. We were talking last night and doubt it’s going to be safe until into the autumn. That means buying everything online! I shouldn’t complain as it’s important to stay safe at this time x

Lazydaisydaydream · 19/03/2020 10:11

@ChipsAreLife Unfortunately as my husband works for the emergency services he obviously has to be at work at the moment.

My MIL is only in her early fifties and still works etc. I think the advice about grandparents is for those over 70? But agree it’s all a bit unclear. I have a midwife appointment next week and Really hoping she’s going to be able to lay out exactly what I should and shouldn’t be doing.

ShiningStarz · 19/03/2020 11:31

Hi everyone, just to let you know.
I phoned my Gp this morning to confirm my appt to get whooping cough vaccine and other bloods and they said everything is cancelled!
I have no clue now how I’m supposed to get whooping cough vaccination now!!! I’d encourage you all to check with your clinics your appts are actually happening! Routine might be cancelled and only the main ones being done. Such scary times

ChipsAreLife · 19/03/2020 11:48

@Lazydaisydaydream ah I see! Yes she will be fine with MIL as she's young. Hope your DH is ok.

@ShiningStarz I found clothes better to buy online actually, the shops don't have as a big range or the sizes you ever need but I completely understand. It's also annoying to go test prams etc,

Yeah our GP text this morning to say all apps are cancelled. Think everyone is scrambling at the mo and plans will be put in place.

@hugeagegap glad it's not just me. So hard to concentrate on work today. It just doesn't seem important but all of DH work is on hold so I need to keep going! X

ChipsAreLife · 19/03/2020 12:22

Just to warn you ... a lot of hospitals are now saying you will have to attend scans alone for now.

OP posts:
ShiningStarz · 19/03/2020 13:13

I’m so glad I opted for private although it has wiped my savings. I am so anxious as it is, I couldn’t imagine going in for a scan alone. I know the private clinic are taking everyone’s temperature before they are allowed in. Still a chance that my partner might not be slowed in depending on the rules getting much stricter as time goes ok.

I’m gutted all my antenatal care has been cancelled. I was looking forward to meeting other local mums and learning about all the things that are vitally important in these classes. Doesn’t help an already anxious person!!!! 🙈

Roxy8203 · 19/03/2020 13:31

This may be useful to us now as classes won't be running.

emma278 · 19/03/2020 17:28

I think im going to call my midwife tomo as the dampness seems clear and watery rather than creamy. It doesnt smell. Hopefully its just me being paranoid xx

Lazydaisydaydream · 19/03/2020 20:59

@emma278 I think swamp crotch is very common in pregnancy but definitely speak to your midwife for reassurance Flowers

emma278 · 19/03/2020 21:05

Swamp crotch 😂😂😂 i habe put a liner on and it doesnt seem too bad. Its hard to know what the right thing to do is xx

ChipsAreLife · 19/03/2020 21:53

@emma278 mine is like that! I think as long as it doesn't smell you should be ok x

OP posts:
Piper1879 · 19/03/2020 22:05

Hope everyone's well considering , I've been signed off with stress as my work won't take precautions to allow me to socially distance and I work in a public facing role with people literally in your face 🙄 I'm trying to be positive but feel so down

Lorna198 · 19/03/2020 22:38

I’ve been a nightmare last two days. My anxiety has ran riot over things I can not control. Yes its shit. Yes I can’t go to work. Yes I can’t help anyone. What I can do Is help myself. Me and my brain have just had a set to and no more! Tomorrow morning miss positive will return and I will have a morning walk before tackling the day. I can’t fix what I can’t control but I can control my brain (a little lol).

So I hope everyone is doing broadly fine and that your Friday has some tiny bit of positivity in there somewhere!
