Hi @emma278
I am good.
Sleeping much better with the long big C pillow.
Working from home now indefinitely and just trying to be sensible about going out etc.
Had to stand in the M&S queue for 4 minutes to pay yesterday! Crazy.
How are you?
Everyone else ok?

emma278 · 15/03/2020 13:31

Hi @ShiningStarz im ok. Waking up at 5am most days but i think alot of it is anxiety about the virus and the family etc. Back to work tomorrow. They have said i could possibly work from home but half my team are off so really im needed there. Its quite hard to do my full job from home 😕.

Ive got my 16 week appointment in 2 weeks and then my 20 week scan on the 27/4. all cant come soon enough!!

Xx

ChipsAreLife · 15/03/2020 14:34

Hi guys,

Well I've got suspected coronavirus 😪 had a temp, headache and ache since weds. Yesterday got a sore throat and dry cough. NHS says to just stay home and rest etc, frustrating as want to know if I have it!! I'm tired and weak but not feeling horrendous so I'm hoping this is it and I'm ok soon.

@ShiningStarz glad you're sleeping better they make a huge difference!

@emma278 it's hard not to feel anxious. There is so much mud information about though. I read threads on here and despair. Just try stick there facts, keep hands clean but also phones, keys etc and try limit going out when you can. It feels like such uncertain times and I'm just praying a vaccine comes soon.

Sending hugs to you all x

Oh no @chipsarelife hope you're feeling better soon and your symptoms don't get any worse. Have you told your maternity team? I read guidance that said you should inform them and they should offer you a reassurance scan within 14 days after you recover to make sure baba is all okay x

HugeAgeGap · 15/03/2020 16:21

@ChipsAreLife I also second about telling maternity team as also saw your eligible for a reassure scan in 14 days time too. I hope this is the worst of it and your into the recovery now, take care xx

Heckythump1 · 15/03/2020 17:13

Just wanted to say I'm very disappointed that I'm not being allowed to join your Facebook group as you're not letting anyone new in. How very unsupportive!

Lazydaisydaydream · 15/03/2020 17:38

@heckythump1 I'm not on facebook but I think it's a closed group for privacy, you have to pm one of the admins with your facebook email address and they can add you to it.

Heckythump1 · 15/03/2020 17:41

@lazydaisydaydream I did and I was told they're not letting anyone new in!

Lazydaisydaydream · 15/03/2020 17:52

@heckythump1 oh right! That's a bit odd! I assumed id be able to join it later on once I rejoin facebook (I gave it up for lent and to save my MH through all the corona panic! Grin) maybe one of the actual admins of the facebook group will clarify here though what's happened.

Don't let that put you off posting in this group, there are quite a few people like me who post here but not on fb I think Flowers

Heckythump1 · 15/03/2020 17:59

Oh it won't. I've loved the Facebook group from when my 4 year old was born and it's still really activity nown and such a good support, was hoping for the same this time round!

Lorna198 · 15/03/2020 18:27

@Roxy8203 I would have also liked to join the Facebook group now. In an earlier post you’ve had said about the group. Can you shed any light ? @Heckythump1 This is my first so was looking forward to joining that group too!

@ChipsAreLife bless ya I really hope you feel better soon!!

Loving my new C pillow. Can see that coming in very handy in the future lol!

Roxy8203 · 15/03/2020 18:58

@Lorna198 @Heckythump1 the Facebook page has been locked but I've just asked and if you send a PM to @Crazymummyto3 she said she will add you this evening. You need to mail her with the email address you use for Facebook and she can do it from that

Heckythump1 · 15/03/2020 19:25

Thanks Roxy, I know it wasn't your decision, so thanks for asking again for us :)

Lilice · 15/03/2020 19:28

@ChipsAreLife oh no! I hope you're okay. Will you be tested at all? How's your other children going? Hopefully you'll recover quickly, how stressful for you.

I finally have my 12 week scan tomorrow , I must be the last one on this group haha!

Lorna198 · 15/03/2020 20:35

@Roxy8203 thank you so much!

MooseWL · 15/03/2020 21:03

Probably tmi here but anyone suffered with the dreaded constipation yet 🙈 probably not helped by the amount of bread I'm eating

Sunshinexx95 · 15/03/2020 22:00

@ChipsAreLife
Hi I'm sorry to hear that. But you know even if you got corona virus you shouldn't worry too much and take paracetamol all the time so u don't get high fever. I think a lot of people gets corona and they recover very easily from it. Elderly are the worse risk group right now even though I know 2 old people in their late 70 and both got tested positive and both had a slight fever and it was over, even though the man had just undergone a surgery and had bad immunity.
So we shouldn't worry too much I am sure we will all be fine. Let's hope for the best it doesn't help to stress too much. Have a lot of vitamins. 🙏

Lilice · 15/03/2020 22:02

@moosewl unfortunately yes 😔 it's horrible. I eat loads of fiber though so find it very unfair haha. I have to take lactulose and it helps a little. Are you taking anything for it?

Sunshinexx95 · 15/03/2020 22:03

And by the way, is it just me or do you guys feel completely fine and unpregnant. I asked my midwife to just use a Doppler to hear babies heartbeat but she refused. Made me very sad. I just want to know everything is alright. But I hope it is. 😔 I think a lot of us mentioned second trimester to be the golden one. :/ maybe it is hehe

Lilice · 15/03/2020 22:04

@Sunshinexx95 that's good to know. I personally don't know anyone who had or has it, all I know comes from the media and it always sounds catastrophic. What you are saying is reassuring!

Heckythump1 · 16/03/2020 06:22

@Sunshinexx95 when I was pregnant with my 4 year old they wouldn't use a Doppler until the 16 week midwife appointment as it can be difficult to find baby until then due to them being teeny tiny apparently! And it obviously can be quite scary for Mums when they can't find a heartbeat even though baby is fine but tiny!

As this is my 2nd pregnancy, and baby appears to be quite different to their very laid back, chilled out big sister, I'm already feeling them move and have been for about a week! (I'm 14+4 today) Feels like they are doing somersaults! I didn't feel my daughter move until about 19 weeks! Dread to think what this one will be doing to me by that stage 😳

ChipsAreLife · 16/03/2020 07:27

Thanks everyone. I'm actually feeling ok emotionally I'm not scared and only read facts on the news and ignoring most of the rubbish and speculation from people with no expertise!
I'm hoping a few more days and I'll be back to normal.

I didn't know that about the reassurance scan, where did you read that? In a weird way I don't really want to go to hospital unless I have to currently! My midwife app is soon so will see mention and ask her to try find heartbeat and if she can't ask to be scanned. Im not being altruistic but I just don't want to waste resource at this time too. My fever hasn't been crazy high so I'm not too worried about baby.

I also don't feel pregnant maybe because this virus has taken over a bit! I'm 15 weeks tomorrow though and starting to get bigger!

I'm not on Facebook but sounds like it's sorted!

Hope you're all well. Keep washing your hands 🤞

Morning @emma278 it’s so tough when still needed to go into work. This will escalate though and hopefully then everyone who can will be given the option to work from home. Our dates are pretty much the same. My 16 week check is in 2 weeks and then 20 week scan is day after yours!! Xx

@ChipsAreLife win sorry to hear this. I hope you don’t have it. I read a study about 9 pregnant women in China contracting CV and there was no adverse effects so plz try not to worry.

I don’t feel pregnant either!!! My bump changes size daily but there’s a definite growth in the middle of the stomach!! That’s the only thing reminding me!!

@Lilice hope your scan went well

Ps you can go private if that’s an option to hear the heartbeat. My hospital appt at 12 weeks checked the heartbeat x

emma278 · 16/03/2020 13:10

Morning @ShiningStarz I dont really feel pregnant either. Apart from a bit of tiredness i feel normal. Also feel like my tummy isnt getting any bigger but hoping the growth comes in fits and starts. Xx

OrDis · 16/03/2020 14:43

Hi everyone! Had my 12 week scan today too. All good, baby wriggling around in there and being very annoying for the poor sonographer trying to take measurements! We got there eventually though!! 13 weeks and due on 20th Sept! Eek!
