Congrats ladies! Mines all public knowledge now. Work, family etc. I havent done a fb/insta post because that isnt my thing but its no secret anymore. Good job as im showing now and 14 weeks tomorrow xx

ChipsAreLife · 11/03/2020 11:32

@Sunshinexx95 enjoy not feeling much! Honestly you're out the first trimester where you have more symptoms. The placenta has taken over and you're not feeling the kicks, heaviness, tiredness, heartburn etc that comes later on. It's completely normal to feel normal now, the second trimester is when everyone generally feels well.

We've told quite a few people, I still have some people to tell but just doing it more when I speak to people. I've only ever posted when I've had the baby, but I'm not huge on social media.

I've started to have a look at baby grows but resisting till 20 weeks!

Anyone not finding out the sex? I can totally see why people do but we didn't with our other two and that moment was absolutely magical for us so going to hold out again for it. Stops me buying loads too 😅

@ChipsAreLife we aren’t finding out! Altho it might be super obvious on the scan!! We both want it to be the big surprise at the end!!
Iv stated looking at baby cot bed! Just checking out the different options!
I don’t think I’ll buy any clothes until I get to 30 weeks!!!! What’s everyone else doing?

Bunt1987 · 11/03/2020 13:39

Exams are over (for now anyway), i'm studying my chartered accountancy @ChipsAreLife, i started 10 years ago but i wanted to go out instead of study back then :D

It's been so lovely catching up on all the posts and hearing about everyone's scans and how well it's all going. We have ours tomorrow and it feels like we've waited an age to get to this day - hurry up home time today!

Thankfully sickness has been easing over the last week too, we're holding off telling our parents until mothers day when we have both sets coming around for a roast

Lorna198 · 11/03/2020 17:24

Sounds like everyone is doing well! I had my rescan today. Still couldn’t get measurements So a quad blood test at 16 weeks. We have announced to everyone and the shock is hilarious! Just cos we’ve been together 10 years. Think people didn’t expect it. We won’t be finding out either. Seems more fun to have a surprise at the end!

Good luck tomorrow @Bunt1987!

MooseWL · 11/03/2020 18:02

I think we're going to find out to make it seem more real haha. Plus takes the stress out of arguing over 2 sets of names 🤣

ChipsAreLife · 11/03/2020 21:37

Ah that's nice that a few of us are having surprises!

Ha ha @mosseWL weve always had loads of boys names we agree on but girls is what we argue about ... we've had two girls 😅

@shininhstarz 30 weeks is sensible! My girls are off school when I'm 32 weeks and then don't go back till I'm 39 so I want to try get organised especially as we will hopefully go away for a couple of weeks. I think post 20 weeks is fine, keep an eye on deals as they don't come around often!

ShiningStarz · 11/03/2020 22:03

Good tip @ChipsAreLife👍👍

MooseWL · 12/03/2020 07:43

How's everyone's sickness? I thought it was getting better as in I don't feel sick constantly any more but I still seem to throw up every morning (why is throwing up on an empty stomach so much worse!) and around 5pm every day. Please someone a little bit further ahead tell me it gets better than this!
And we're the oppositse with names loads of girls ideas but barely any for boys!

emma278 · 12/03/2020 07:47

Hi ladies, you are probably bored of hearing it but is anyone worried about coronavirus? I work in the city and commute via train and tube everyday. My work dont really allow working from home so im just carrying on but its making me really nervous xx

Lazydaisydaydream · 12/03/2020 08:20

@ChipsAreLife we will be Keeping the gender a surprise. We did last time and it was so lovely, we asked the midwife to let my OH check and announce it when I gave birth and it is one of my favourite memories ever Smile

Piper1879 · 12/03/2020 09:44

I was on the old September group so thought I'd rejoin ! I'm 15weeks 1 day and finally starting to feel better Grin nausea is dying down and not so sleepy ! My dating scan went well and it's put me forward to 2nd sept which is also my birthday Blush could have sworn I felt slight movement last night too. I have a gender scan booked in two weeks so excited ! Finally enjoying this journey

Lilice · 12/03/2020 09:49

@ChipsAreLife we're keeping the sex a surprise for the first as we found out the previous times. But I'm wondering how to manage getting the clothes ready etc as I've kept everything and want to reuse it. I've got one of each and hardly anything gender neutral. Do I just wash everything beforehand (meaning twice as much work) or just buy new stuff that's gender neutral?? Or get the stuff ready when baby's here which seems so unpractical!
@emma278 I'm worried too. Luckily I mainly work from home. I've cancelled trips to london because of it. I'm hoping they will take proper measures today at the cobra meeting.

ShiningStarz · 12/03/2020 11:17

@emma278 I had a chat with my manager and have decided to work from home today and tomorrow.
I’d be worried too if I was commuting.
Best thing to do is get a doctors letter advising your immune system is lowered in pregnancy and they’ll prob advise against unnecessary travel 👍

Lazydaisydaydream · 12/03/2020 13:48

@Piper1879 same due date as me Grin

Lazydaisydaydream · 12/03/2020 13:50

@ShiningStarz I am due to go on holiday in two weeks, asked my consultant about whether I should cancel and she said there's no particular danger to pregnant women and that just if I go to make sure I wash my hands etc. Was a bit disappointed to be honest as if she'd said I couldn't go then that would have been sufficient for my insurance to pay the money back for a cancelled trip!!

MooseWL · 12/03/2020 14:02

I work from home a few days a week anyway so I'm lucky to have the option. I was asked if i was still comfortable going into work but I'm still going in where I need to beause I don't think there's any need to panic as long as you follow basic hygiene rules. The media is letting it get out of hand. At the moment around 500 people have it out of 65 million which is a very very small percentage.

ChipsAreLife · 12/03/2020 14:39

@Lilice hmmm I would get some neutral newborn bits and then a few 0-3 to get you through the first week. Maybe wash your fav 0-3 bits of both so you have them. Also if just at home put baby in whatever!

I'm really lucky as work for myself and mainly from home. Trying to limit meetings etc. I'm not worried for myself as such I just don't want to spread it around!

@Lazydaisydaydream same! DH told me which was lovely for him 💕

Bunt1987 · 13/03/2020 09:50

I had my scan yesterday, they brought me forward by 2 days so my EDD is 20th September :) a very heartwarming and surreal moment, it has now all sunk in, just the combined test results to wait for.

Ugh this Coronavirus - my boss has come in with a cough and a temperature and currently refusing to go home saying she feels ok! Shock

emma278 · 13/03/2020 10:10

@Bunt1987 congrats on the scan!!! Ah thats just selfish. Steer clear and plenty of hand washing. Xx

Bunt1987 · 13/03/2020 10:15

thanks @emma278 - i've had a chat with some powers that be and she's going to be asked to go home once she's out of her meeting

ChipsAreLife · 13/03/2020 10:18

Ah congrats @Bunt1987! It's such a relief. That's so incredibly stupid of your boss. We all need to make sacrifices. I've had a temp weds and thurs so I'm self isolating. I've got awful headache and aches but hoping it's nothing serious.

I had loads of nice weekend plans but I'm not going to put myself first.

OP posts:
Piper1879 · 13/03/2020 10:39

@Lazydaisydaydream eeek ! its the best day of the year but i'm biased haha!!

@Bunt1987 how selfish of your boss! coronavirus is worrying me slightly as I'm asthmatic and now pregnant but I work in an opticians so no option to work from home and my doesn't seem to understand hand santiser and antibacterial wipes, so we will see!

I've bought some tiny things , only because they're were on sale and I liked them, gender neutral, but scan is in two weeks so we'll see!! having a little gender reveal with friends and family, it will be nice to enjoy this pregnancy after having a rubbish start ( a year since my dad died and my friend losing her baby)
