@Quirkyquichie hopefully your little man gets home soon, I'm sure you're glad he's getting the best care but looking forward to starting your new routine at home!

@hazandduck any update? I'm getting regular tightenings as well, especially after I drink raspberry leaf tea but they're not painful, just odd and midwife said baby isn't engaged yet so I'll be here while!

Good luck to the inductions today, looking forward to hearing some more baby news!

Ah thank you @Quirkyquichie. Oh that must be so difficult but like you say you’d rather they be over cautious! I hope you are all home together soon! X

So yes I think something is happening I’ve just started losing my plug (sorry tmi) and still having cramping. Gah I feel kind of shaky nervous with sweaty hands lol. Not sure what to do with myself! DD went to in-laws early this morning (she always does tuesdays and Wednesdays) so that’s one less thing to worry about! Xx

lovesT · 04/02/2020 15:46

@Dweebette I also had glucose in my urine quite a while ago, not too much but midwife wanted me to come back about a week later to check again and all has been fine since, so try not to worry! I'd had porridge and honey for breakfast with orange juice which apparently was enough to make that happen! Since then I've tried to do my urine sample before I est or drink anything in the morning (I have a pot that they've asked me to reuse since my first appointment, so always do it at home).

I've also been getting tummy tightenings/ braxton hicks a lot more lately and especially in the evenings they can be quite sore low down 😣 no mucus plug yet though ☹️ definitely getting impatient. Two more mornings left at work!

Dweebette · 04/02/2020 15:50

@lovesT that's good to know. My appointment was right after lunch and it's the same next week so I might do the sample in the morning (I assume that's OK and it doesn't need to be fresh?) to get a proper reading. Just determined to avoid induction if at all possible!!

My midwife just popped round and gave me a sweep, she said baby’s head is way down! She also said lots of mucus plug came out and waters tight round the head. I’m currently 2-3cm! She’s going to be on standby for tonight. 🤞😬 I just hope it’s quick! She detected glucose and blood in my urine but said that’s because of the show and the jammy croissant I had for breakfast 😄
Trying to stay calm and just focus on the end goal...baby in my arms!

hazandduck · 04/02/2020 16:10

Omg my waters have just gone! DH is taking Dd an overnight bag at my in-laws. Currently sat on the sofa on one of DD’s potties was the nearest thing to hand. Can’t get hold of my mum. My hands are shaking!!

lovesT · 04/02/2020 16:24

@Dweebette
It could be something you've eaten then 😊 my midwife told me she once had someone who had tomato soup for lunch which made her glucose go really high but it was just the soup and nothing else after she had to be tested. Still, it's good they're checking and it's not the worst thing if it is GD compared to lots of other scary things! But I was worried too. I hope it's just something you ate 😊. Yeah I often do mine before breakfast even if my appointment is later in the day and it's fine.

@hazandduck wow how exciting!!! Here comes the next baby 😊 we all look forward to being updated. All the best! X

hazandduck · 04/02/2020 16:26

Thank you. I don’t know what to do!! Just sat here trying to be calm!! X

hazandduck · 04/02/2020 16:27

Weirdly I had a tin of soup for lunch...could be that which made my glucose go up!

LolaLollypop · 04/02/2020 17:18

Eeek good luck @hazandduck !!
When's your due date, are you early??

Any update with your induction @Ginny1234?

No news on my side... baby seems a bit quieter today but I have felt movements. Probably because I've been running around with my toddler all morning. Just had to have a nap whilst she watched a film - exhausting!!

Dweebette · 04/02/2020 19:34

Good luck @hazandduck!! This is so exciting!

Hope everything goes smoothly @hazandduck! I've been in hospital with the pessary in since 11am and so far nada... hey ho!

FirstTimeDS · 04/02/2020 21:16

Had my bloody show and lots of pain today. My due date is tomorrow weirdly enough. Fingers crossed for everyone

hazandduck · 05/02/2020 01:37

Hello all thank you for your well wishes!!

Baby Girl number 2 arrived at 10.12 tonight after a 4 hour labour at home! I am walking on air ❤️

Here she is wearing the same little outfit we first put her big sister in 2 years ago.

I hope everyone else is doing ok! My due date was the 6th so she was 2 days early...a miracle seeing as I am late for everything! Xx

LolaLollypop · 05/02/2020 07:19

Congratulations @hazandduck I'm so happy for you. 4 hour labour too.. please send me some of that magic labour dust Grin
I bet your toddler is over the moon with her baby sister! Hope you all settle in well together x

Soda123x · 05/02/2020 16:54

Congratulations @hazandduck she is adorable !!
I'm not due until 28th so feel like I've still got aaaages left yet xx

Dweebette · 05/02/2020 17:53

@soda123x snap! Though time is going really quickly all of a sudden!! I just keep thinking 4 weeks and 5 days is the longest possible time until baby comes (as they induce here no later than 40+10)

OP posts:
Soda123x · 06/02/2020 04:27

@Dweebette It does sound alot shorter when you put it like that but tbh I'm in no rush. Were all set ready for baby to arrive. I've been super lucky with no sickness etc and only the occasional (what I'm guessing is normal) stretching / pelvic pain twinge. I love my bump and feeling baby wriggling around inside and I think I'm really going to miss being pregnant xx

Dweebette · 06/02/2020 06:35

@soda123x I totally get that. I haven't had an easy pregnancy (sickness up to 15 weeks, lots of pain due to an old hip injury plus a few other little complications) but I absolutely love my bump and love being pregnant now (I didn't at the start) so I'm not in any rush either.

Here's our boy Theodore Ernest Alexander born at 10:15pm 5-2-2020. Birth was pretty much worse case scenario at the end with babies heart rate dropping rapidly, episiotomy, forceps and more tares, followed by my vomiting/passing out for the next few hours ... but I just don't care!
Our little miracle boy is here and we couldn't be happier. I actually think I might be in shock because I can't believe he's here and safe and mine. Hadn't let myself believe it would happen. Best day ever 🥰

@Ginny1234 sooo lovely, congratulations! ❤️ enjoy your beautiful baby.

I had my last day at work today, 39 weeks tomorrow and really hope baby won't be too long!! Getting very impatient 😅 just washed and hung up some baby clothes we were given which I really enjoyed haha 👍🥰

Dweebette · 06/02/2020 19:38

@Ginny1234 congratulations, beautiful baby boy and amazing mama for getting through a difficult birth! Hope you're settling in well together
