Congratulations @Quirkyquichie ❤️❤️

lovesT · 01/02/2020 19:43

Is everyone else feeling insanely uncomfortable? I have 4 more mornings at work next week and really hoping I can make it. Will be 39 weeks on Friday. Today I feel like I can hardly walk! Baby's head is so low down and keep letting Braxton hicks/ tightenings and can feel quite painful low down. Also pelvic joints seem to be suffering. Feeling so tired today! Managed to walk a tiny bit in the village very slowly today ... Really hoping not too much longer 🤔😢

Sorry for the moan 🙄🤦‍♀️❤️

FirstTimeDS · 01/02/2020 19:47

Moan away! Pregnancy is hard and tiring and pretty gross xD

I'm 39+3 and very much done. Walking is the hardest, I'm only 5ft and my DP is 6'3 so I'm 79% sure this baby is going to be taller than me when he's born judging by my inability to move rn.

Not long though ladies! We might miss these days soon! (Not likely)

LolaLollypop · 01/02/2020 19:49

My moan time... Suffering with really bad acid reflux for the past 24hrs Angry I feel like we're all swapping symptoms! Any tips for how to get rid of it??

FirstTimeDS · 01/02/2020 19:58

OMG ACID REFLUX.

Nothing has worked except that one time in hospital at 36 weeks the nurse gave me the pink liquid of the gods...

I'm currently on the peppermint tablets and gaviscon but I've found they just won't take the edge off it. Currently a glass of cold skimmed milk whilst sat upright in bed is my only remedy but it could be purely placebo

lovesT · 01/02/2020 19:59

@FirstTimeDS yes walking and getting up from sofa/ bed/ anywhere is so difficult! Oh and getting out of the car ...

@LolaLollypop yep had that too, baby is pushing up with little (long) legs and I've had that the last few days. I have Gaviscon which is fine in pregnancy (the normal one) and should help.

These pains down low and tummy tightening are painful but would be worth it if it meant things were starting 😄 not sure I can have another 2 weeks of it ...

Quirkyquichie · 01/02/2020 21:53

This is the first day of no acid reflux for me, it seems the only way is to give birth. It's supposed to ease up when baby drops lower though but that doesn't always happen until near the end. Come on next baby, I eagerly await your arrivals.

TheSeaWitch · 01/02/2020 22:03

I've been reading these threads since the start, but only commented a couple of times, I've had anxiety due to risk of preeclampsia because of my last pregnancy. But I'm 38+2 today was discharged from the BP clinic last week as all has been going ok and baby has grown properly, she's estimated to be about 7lb3 at the moment!
I am done now. I'm in so much pain walking, and sitting and lying down 😂 I'm huge! I never got this big due to growth issues in my last pregnancy. That ended up with an EMCS under general, so right now I'm absolutely TERRIFIED about giving birth, even though I just want it to be over with now!

Ginny1234 · 02/02/2020 08:05

@Quirkyquichie ooh, maybe I'll wish for a bit slower then 😬 at least it's all over with now and you get to begin enjoying good bit :)

@hazandduck my husbands equally annoying and keeps referring to my maternity leave as me being 'on holiday' 😤 he's 'on holiday' for a week now for the birth so I've made sure to give him a big list of jobs so he can fully enjoy himself!

@LolaLollypop and @FirstTimeDS
I feel your pain with acid reflux. It's sooo horrible. I find dairy helps during the day so just have spoonful of natural yogurt, chunks of cheese and hot or cold milk regularly to keep it at bay. Lots of fruit and veg and activity to keep it flowing through your digestive system. I have to resort to gaviscon at bedtime though because nothing else works. Also been sleeping propped up in bed with a beanbag because flat just pools the acid and I wake up being sick. Hopefully some of that will help 🤞🏻

@TheSeaWitch it sounds like you've had a tough time so can understand your worries. Try not to be terrified though! Easier said than done I know. You have done everything you can and the midwives etc know what they're doing so the best thing you can do is try to relax, think positively about what will go right and visualise your baby in your arms at the end of it. Relaxing your body like that is the best thing you can do as stress and tension will make everything slower.

Last day for me before induction tomorrow. Have to stay at the hospital for the whole thing which is a worry as there is lots of panic in York about coronavirus now so everyone turning up at A&E. planning to just stay on the ward in our room which will be very boring if it goes on for ages!! Fingers crossed I'm already a few cm or something. Baby is soooo active! Think he's ready to come out now :)

Looking forward to baby finally being here after 10 years, 7 miscarriages and lots of heartache and worry. Can't quite believe it's really happening *holds back tears 😭

Dweebette · 02/02/2020 08:48

@Ginny1234 good luck with your induction, you almost have your long awaited bundle in your arms ❤️

Sending you lots of luck and positive thoughts for tomorrow @Ginny1234! Can't wait to hear the happy news Smile

Ginny1234 · 02/02/2020 13:29

Thanks guys. See you on the other side x 🤱

hazandduck · 02/02/2020 16:49

Best of luck @Ginny1234 and I say cry away, release the tension, you’ve had a bloody hard road to get here and deserve this!! Blame my hormones but I feel emotional for you! Xx

hazandduck · 02/02/2020 16:59

@TheSeaWitch I feel the exact same, terrified but also desperate now for it to just happen and baby to arrive.

I feel so bad for you all with acid reflux ☹️ Touch wood my indigestion and reflux haven’t been nearly as bad as it was with DD. I remember the ‘waking up with a mouthful of vomit’ thing so clearly omg it was the worst!! And then you are just awake in the middle of the night for so long trying to get rid of that taste! Weirdly I had really bad constipation with her too, whereas this time I’ve almost had the opposite issue and go very easily a lot...so maybe the two are related! I’ve not done anything differently diet wise, it must just be a different batch of hormones this pregnancy.

My usually quite aloof cat is snuggled up to me right now...is this a sign 😆 today would be a cool date to be born..02/02/20! DD was 17/11/17 which was quite a cool date too.

Dweebette · 02/02/2020 21:35

I may be totally alone in feeling like this but have had a total meltdown today as in just not ready for this pregnancy to be over. I love my bump and I love knowing that baby is safe inside. I'm not ready to have to share baby with anyone (other than DH of course) and I'm definitely not ready to say goodbye to my pregnant body that I've grown to love. This is despite feeling pretty rubbish this weekend with hip and back pain and now a bit of cramping as well (again likely referred from my back). I likely have another 4-6 weeks before baby makes an appearance but suddenly it just feels so imminent, like I'm subconsciously waiting.

Also, anyone else getting needle type pains in the bump? It's like my skin hurts in a very specific spot.

Feel like my head is all over the place today

Is today the day ginny? My first ever induction 11 years ago was started at around 11am and my girl was born that very same night at 11.30. The 3 inductions since have all been birthed from within 12-15 hours. I did notice, once i started to get the really bad period type pains, the ones that you cannot walk or stand straight, like your lower insides have run a marathon type, then i was looking at around 6 _12 hours. If they offer to pop your waters, take it, 2 hours for me from manual waters breaking at 3cm and 4cm and my babies were born both times 2 hours later and 1 hour 30 minutes respectively.
Wishing you all thebest for today. Looking forward to hearing your news after such a long wait.

Dweebette, i didn't really get any pains except near the end of week 36 i was having a shower, the water running from the shower head was directly on the top of my belly whilst i shampoo my hair and god the sensation was weird. It was like a thousand needles jabbing me all at once. Never felt anything quite like it previously. It was only when the water sprayed there though, and my shower is not a power shower either, just a regular mixer bath/ shower type tap. It was very bizarre.

Hope every one is well

LolaLollypop · 03/02/2020 09:53

I think that sort of anxiety is normal @Dweebette. Our babies are lovely and safe inside, getting everything they need and all we need to finish stay relatively sensible and they don't need anything else! Once they come out its a whole nother world of worry!

I totally get what you're saying. I'm so used to feeling baby inside me now, I just have this worry that something is going to go wrong once baby is out. Silly as I'm low risk and have nothing really to worry about. It's that feeling of the unknown approaching!

I think it's important to also look forward to meeting your new arrival and thinking that they want to meet their mummy/daddy/grandparents etc too! I don't know the sex of mine yet so I am very excited to know whether I have a new son or daughter Grin Also what they look like!

It's a nerve wracking time but lots to look forward to too Flowers

sulkysukey · 03/02/2020 11:07

Congrats on the late Jan/early Feb babies already here! I'm going round like a madwoman tidying the house before my induction tomorrow - won't be far behind you @Ginny1234 - hoping everything goes smoothly for you today.

@Dweebette I also had a total freak out yesterday but mine was about the effect of a new baby on my two lovely kids and wondering what the hell I'm doing and how we'll all cope. Had to hold back the tears thinking "this will be the last Sunday roast with just the 4 of us" - emotions all over the place, I think that's normal though now the birth is just around the corner for us all... 😭

hazandduck · 03/02/2020 11:42

@Dweebette you are not alone with your emotions! I cried this morning because DD dropped a book on my foot! 🙈 I then cried when DH left for work. I am SO emotional. Told him I hate him because he’s not in pain or miserable!! 🤣 He is good humoured about it thankfully.

However I am so ready for baby to come out lol. I hate being this moany massive miserable pregnant whale so much. I always swore after my miscarriages I would never be an ungrateful pregnant woman, I feel so guilty for moaning because I know I’m so lucky, but everything hurts!

I

Ginny1234 · 03/02/2020 13:36

Phoned up this morning to see if they had room for me today but they're too busy 😬so got to wait and phone again tomorrow 🤦🏼‍♀️ really disappointing because I'd got myself all psyched up for it.

Walking around all day instead to try and get him to cone on his own - getting period like cramps really low down so maybe it's actually working?? Feeling quite sick today too so don't know if that's a sign?

lovesT · 03/02/2020 14:56

@Dweebette yes I've had this the last few days. It seems to be where I've just started to get stretch marks and itchy tummy. Yesterday I had a really sharp pain in one specific point in my tummy (on the skin). Really annoying! Maybe just skin adjusting?

I've got three more mornings left at work. I'm split between making the most of rest and just wanting baby to be here! ❤️

Dweebette · 03/02/2020 15:38

Thanks ladies, nice to know I'm not alone!

@Ginny1234 that's so frustrating but maybe it will give a baby a chance to come on its own, fingers crossed!

I'm just back from 36 week check and there was glucose in my urine 😖 first time so she is just making me come back again next week to be retested then if it's still there she "has to take action". I think that means sending me for the tolerance test. Anyone know if you have to be induced early if you do get a GD diagnosis?

OP posts:
hazandduck · 03/02/2020 23:11

Sorry @Dweebette I don’t know about GD, but I’m sure you’ll be closely monitored even if they don’t induce you!

I have been having such strong regular tightenings the last couple of hours, my stomach is going like a rock and I have to breathe through them. No waters or plug or anything just weird tightenings and not sure whether I should tell my midwife or not! Lying here wondering if this is the start of something...and bricking it!

hazandduck · 03/02/2020 23:12

How are you feeling @Ginny1234?? X

Quirkyquichie · 04/02/2020 01:26

Hazandduck do not feel guilty for moaning ever. No matter how many losses you havehad, you are justified. Your body is going through major changes, your emotions are all over the place and quite frankly, if it hurts then it hurts.

Ginny How disappointing. Did you have to ring in the day to get booked in? Previously they booked mine in, this time they booked the date and rang me on the day i was to go in with a time. How annoying when you've already prepared yourself for that day. Hopefully you're in soon if you hadn't already gone in yourself.

Currently my little one is still in hospital. We were discharged for a whole 15 hours late on Saturdaybut had to go back to fully discharge him on Sunday, only they were concerned after his nb checks so re admitted him Sunday afternoonand have been here since. He's well, but they've been overly cautious with him being so new, so id rather be herefor over caution than take any chances. Hopefully be out soon. Hope all is well with everyone
