@LolaLollypop sorry your daughter isn't well! Some children had that in my last few days at school so they didn't let me work in the classroom but NHS website says no risk for baby 😊 I'm sure you've been given all of the advice though!
Good luck with everything! Nearly there ❤️

@cliare congratulations! Wow that's a big baby! Hope you are doing well 😊

@dweebette how are you doing? Do you know more about position of baby?

Currently feeding little one which so far has been going really well, milk came in last night and WOW are my boobs sore. Might have a breastfeeding lady come and visit today because one of my nipples gets really sore and she doesn't seem to latch as well. It's all one big adventure isn't it!

Hope everyone is recovering well/ doing well waiting for more babies! X

Baby boy born at 11.21pm yesterday after a formula 1 style labour. Fast and furious! Left home at 10.30pm and gave birth in under an hour. The pain was apocalyptic!! Just so glad it's over and baby is here safely Smile

lovesT · 18/02/2020 13:09

@LolaLollypop congratulations! Hope your DD feels better soon and that you're able to get some rest with two little ones! ❤️

Dweebette · 18/02/2020 17:27

@LolaLollypop congratulations!

Am I the last woman standing?

Congratulations @LolaLollypop! What timing with your daughter being ill! It just shows they will come exactly when they want doesn’t it? Hope your little girl is on the mend soon.

I’m amazed how many fast labours there have been on this thread! We got lucky!

@Dweebette hopefully not long for you! What’s your due date?

Dweebette · 18/02/2020 21:04

Not until 28th @hazandduck and baby seems to be sitting much higher (I feel a head on my hip I think so pretty sure midwife was wrong last week when she said head was engaged) so I predict my February baby will be a March baby. Have had serious heartburn the past few days which I haven't had in ages so I'm definitely at the uncomfortable stage and now on mat leave with way too much time to myself, brain in overdrive and over thinking a lot. Getting myself a bit worked up so need to get the relaxation under control again.

How is the newborn stage going for everyone? Hit me with the realities 😂

@Dweebette were due same day and I'm still going strong too ... and no signs baby is coming anytime soon.
Love seeing all the new babies arrivals and everyone else is doing so well.
I think my Feb baby may soon become a March baby too but what will be will be and baby will come when its ready.
I think we finished for mat leave same day too (Feb 14th) I've just been trying to find things to keep myself busy but theres only so many times we can "nest" surely ?? Xx

Dweebette · 19/02/2020 07:55

@soda123x my thoughts exactly! The house is in order (DH has been doing a lot) so it's easy to maintain. I'm trying to plan at least one thing a day to get me out of the house. I have one more load of baby stuff washing to do as well so that might happen today

Dweebette · 19/02/2020 07:56

Also just had the worst night ever, really vivid nightmares, woke up in tears twice. Feel awful now today so for the first time hoping baby doesn't decide to make moves as I wouldn't have the energy to deal!

Soda123x · 19/02/2020 10:43

Awww that's rubbish 😫 try get some rest today.
Haha I'm tryna do little plans to keep me going. So much so we normally have the shopping delivered with both working full time but now I'm on mat leave I've cancelled the order just so I can go out today and pick it up to waste a bit of time hahahha !! Xx

Dweebette · 19/02/2020 10:56

@soda123x same!! I actually haven't even done click and collect as I figured a walk around the supermarket could count as exercise 😂

I'm 3 days overdue and will be seeing my midwife tomorrow for a date of induction which I really don't want! Tried everything to get this baby out and she will not budge! So tired and fed up but super excited Grin

sulkysukey · 19/02/2020 12:33

@Lunalady21 - try not to worry about an induction. I've had inductions with all 3 of mine and they've all been great experiences - first two I had an epidural but the last one I was only in labour for just over 2 hours and didn't have time for anything but gas + air and it was fine (obv painful, but bearable!)... They're often very much like normal labours, just given a bit of a kickstart!

LolaLollypop · 19/02/2020 20:38

Are you sure you want them lol Grin

Baby is almost 2 days old now (that's gone fast!). We are breastfeeding and he is doing well with his latch. Nipples are reacting to the stimulation but are getting very sore as he's on them so often. I know it's all part of the process to get my milk flowing and should ease up but blimey, it can be eye watering sometimes!! I'm hoping to start expressing this weekend so my DH can help with a feed or two.

For me the worst thing about this time is the afterpains. They're especially bad when BF, almost as bad as some contractions! I think it's worst if it's not your first child. Hopefully they'll ease up soon.

Still very sore physically from the birth. Feel like I've ran a marathon and also passed a watermelon out of my vagina. Gingerly hopping in and off the sofa all day.

It's all temporary though! Each day is a recovery Smile

hazandduck · 19/02/2020 22:50

Totally agree @LolaLollypop the after pains were awful this time and lasted about a week, I did have to breathe through them like contractions! Don’t remember them from my first baby! And definitely worsens when baby is feeding.

Also...piles Blush going to the loo has been horrendous the last week or so!! If you have stitches holding a pad against them as you ‘go’ really helps.

Also hours on end feeding. Cleo feeds and feeds and feeds, she will fall asleep then wake up five minutes later and remember she was hungry! It is exhausting. But I know it is so brief and before I know it her stomach will grow and she will go in longer stretches.

But all the sleep deprivation and pains are worth it for one whiff of the top of her head 😍

Dweebette · 20/02/2020 09:35

Wow ladies that does sound real! You are superwomen!! So can't wait for the head sniffs @hazandduck, DH thinks I'm nuts when I say that because he's never experienced it 😍

I had another sleepless night, just in so much pain with my hip and also seem to have a touch of insomnia as I was quite awake from half 2. Getting insane lightening crotch (what a horrible term) the past 2 days as well, hoping it's a sign that baby is moving down and hasn't turned as I suspect

@LolaLollypop @hazandduck im sorry to read your posts but also makes me feel better because I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself today! Absolutely love my little girl and she's totally worth it but I'm in pain and uncomfortable 😣 I had a second degree tear which they said really isn't bad and I agree but it's still sore and since yesterday I've been trying to go to the toilet but I just can't and it's making me uncomfortable and cried about it today haha 😢 is it really that scary? My contractions didn't last long but maybe that's because it's my first baby like you're saying? So most of my pain and discomfort is super sore, leeky, massive boobies and sore down there, really scared of going to the loo but know I need to 😢.

Apart from that I love breast feeding and cuddles with my little girl. It will get better! 5 day midwife visit today so that will be good.

👶❤️

LolaLollypop · 20/02/2020 12:55

Oh @lovesT it's so hard isn't it! You do need to try and go as it will only get more difficult. It's really not as bad as you think it's going to be. I remember being terrified with my first but the stitches are strong, they won't come apart. It will probably sting but it's bearable.

My little boy has jaundice and isn't weeing/pooing as much as he should be so I need to feed like a crazy woman to keep him hydrated etc. My poor nips are so sore Confused. I'm piling on the Lanisoh at every opportunity!

hazandduck · 20/02/2020 16:25

Ooh @Dweebette hopefully that is a sign baby is in a better position! When are you seeing the midwife to check? Good luck!

@lovesT I cried too, it is scary but actually going isn’t too bad just take your time. Maybe raise your feet a little bit. Drink lots and lots of water. Do you have any numbing spray? I found that helped (I had second degree tear too and it still stung even if it’s not considered bad!) Holding a compress or pad against the stitches helped me relax more, like Lola says you won’t tear your stitches but it does feel like it! You have given birth, you can do this!! You’re a super woman! That’s what I kept telling myself. And also thinking in a week or two or a month from now this will be a distant memory.

It’s tough, it’s like another trimester of pregnancy after you give birth with a whole host of new awful symptoms but with a tiny little dependant to contend with too! But it will get better so quickly xx

hazandduck · 20/02/2020 16:26

@LolaLollypop oh no you must be so drained. I hope your little boy is better soon!

I had my first day at home with 2 on my own today after DH has gone back to work...we’ve survived! We all ate and got dressed/showered! And I managed to sync their naps and have a sneaky sleep myself so I am taking today as a victory x

lovesT · 20/02/2020 21:12

@hazandduck @LolaLollypop I honestly really appreciate your replies! Made me a feel a lot better. The midwife this morning recommended Lactinose (a stool softener laxative) which I sent my husband off to go and get along with with maternity pads 😂 don't know what I'd do without him to be honest! And I'm soooo relieved to say that this evening I did it. I feel so much better 😭 and it wasn't that bad, I think the laxative helped a lot and made it a lot easier. Sorry that I'm telling you this but hopefully it's encouraging for anyone else 😂 I was so scared, but it's done and I feel so much better.

Currently having snuggles with my baby girl giving her daddy a rest as he's been amazing these past few days and I finally feel comfortable enough to walk around a bit and chill out. Our bodies are amazing ladies! I really hope everyone recovering is feeling progress by the day and I hope those in the last little bit of pregnancy aren't too uncomfortable - so nearly there!! ❤️

Dweebette · 20/02/2020 22:00

@lovesT Woohoo well done!

I'm just lying here awake in bed beside peacefully sleeping DH, completely wide awake and feeling really weird, like anxious and also a bit sick. Also feel like I've got a ball between my legs so definitely think baby has moved down dramatically today and getting a lot of lightening pain which is freaking me out as it's really painful but I know is no where near what labour will be like... Definitely feeling wobbly these past few days so going to spend tomorrow rewatching the hypnobirthing course and trying to refocus 😣
