@porple we still cant settle on a name, feel like boys names are alot harder than girls names!

We start NCT classes this Sunday Grin

facevalue · 27/02/2020 21:25

@sao81 your GP will probably have to refer you to a haematologist or someone that deals with that x

AlmostAlwyn · 27/02/2020 21:47

@sao81 I feel that way about girl's names! I had a boy name picked out, but we still can't decide on what to call baby girl! Smile

sao81 · 27/02/2020 21:54

@facevalue I'm hoping they can do, although at the moment they have no record of my previous diagnosis, test results from before last year, nothing has been transferred from my old GP, nightmare all around 🙈
@almostalywn I had a boys name that I really liked, but my MIL was really horrible about it, and my partner didnt do much to back me up as he didn't want to argue with his mum. I just can't seem to settle on another name because that name is always in the back of my mind!

randomly - i'm almost 29 weeks! and i'm suffering from the heat ( yes feeling too hot). i'm usually always cold and i'm but naked in bed and boiling - no heating on😰 tossing and turning for the last 3 hours

AlmostAlwyn · 28/02/2020 08:10

@sao81 aw that sucks! That's why we're not telling anyone our choice - we don't want any unwanted outside opinions! I'm sure if you just went with that name then MIL would just have to suck it up! Did DH agree with his mum?

Sunshine8888 · 28/02/2020 09:07

Happy Friday! I’m all settled on baby’s name and have been since early on 😊. 31 week check up later today - always feel a bit nervous before them even though baby has been wriggling around lots every day

Sunshine8888 · 28/02/2020 09:08

@Pastnowfuture, we started NCT last Monday, next session is this Monday coming. It was nice to meet other pregnant ladies in the area and their partners

Sunshine8888 · 28/02/2020 09:09

Oh and I really recommend pregnancy yoga by the way!! Felt so good to switch off for 90 minutes - so relaxing

Caspianberg · 28/02/2020 11:34

Afternoon.
We had a tour of the local hospital and an information seminar there with other expecting parents the other evening which was nice to confirm a few things. Was glad to see all rooms are private there, no communal wards.

I don't think we will do a NCT type course as the closest one is really quite far from here, and the next one starts 4th April and is 8 weeks long, which is too late for me anyway.

We are stumped on a name still. Have narrowed down to 2-3 I think, but will probably just wait until after birth to decide...(and then dh will just let me choose!). Haven't told anyway, as family for sure will hate all our choices.

Pastnowfuture · 28/02/2020 11:56

We've had a name picked from 11 weeks but not shared it as don't want anyone to influence our choice. Once he's born everyone will have to just accept it. The only problem is we have been calling him his name at home for so long it almost slips out when I'm chatting to people. Lol.

sao81 · 28/02/2020 13:35

@almostalwyn he was happy with the name, he just wont argue with his mum, it never ends well and I won't bore everyone with the details of her as I'd need a whole thread 😂
@Pastnowfuture I wish we had done this. I also wish people wouldn't give negative opinions on a name! If I didnt like someones name choice I would never be horrible about it to that person, as its their baby not mine

OP posts:
Pastnowfuture · 28/02/2020 13:53

@sao81 Totally agree. It's beyond rude. There is one person in my office who I knew for a fact would criticise any name we picked as it is her mission in life to make everyone as miserable as she is. She has taken great pleasure in telling me my body will never recover, labour is horrific and I will never sleep/relax again once the baby is born.

sao81 · 28/02/2020 14:32

@pastfuturenow oh she sounds like a horror! Some people just dont like that others are happy, will do anything to bring them down to their level. I actually quite enjoyed labour, maybe that makes me weird 😂

Hey all!

We have two name choices for a boy or girl (we don't know what we are having). We've had these lined up for years! But one of the boys names I keep changing my mind on! Both girls names I absolutely love, so so much! And if we had another girl we would use the second one then, but settling on a boy's name seems to be much harder! Which is why I think it's a boy haha! I'm glad we have two in the front running, so we can see what they look like and what feels right. Xx

facevalue · 28/02/2020 16:33

@Pastnowfuture oh dear. i suppose she must be horrible in general but all she said so far is absolutely true- maybe she adopts the tough love style in life😰

@sao81 enjoy labour is definitely not something ppl will be believing. 😂😂😂but you can carry on saying it - i enjoyed my last birth experience too - it was the best and highly recommend it ( 😬 elective C section) 😍👍🏼

november90 · 28/02/2020 17:08

So I'm trying everything to turn this baby around, even been swimming today... I cannot believe how unfit I am!!!! But he's definitely still breach. I know there's plenty of time but I'm getting really bad anxiety around it. I'm worried my ex husband will use c section recovery against me to keep our son and also how I will cope with 2!

I've picked my boys name :) it isn't the one we picked together but I will speak to him in a few weeks when the dust has settled and explain why. I think he will be ok with it as he's already told me that he's not bothered about the surname or anything..... I can't use the name we picked originally. It just makes me feel so sad! I'd love to share the name on here but it is a bit different so might keep it a secret until the baby is born :)

Sunshine8888 · 28/02/2020 17:10

31 week check up went well. Baby is still head down with nice healthy heart beat. Only thing is my iron levels are borderline low which would explain the extreme tiredness recently - I just thought it was all part of the third trimester! I’m already taking iron supplements in my vitamins so guess I’d better up the red meat and leafy veg intake

facevalue · 28/02/2020 17:18

i found this helpful about baby movements x

sao81 · 28/02/2020 18:03

@facevalue 😂😂😂 I was induced, and had a pretty straight forward induction compared to the stories I've heard. Was only in labour for 6 hours, and for 4 of those I was high as a kite 😂 I found afterwards worse, recovering from stitches, the sting, I remember that pain like it was yesterday 😩

Lifesforlivingandloving · 28/02/2020 18:36

Names! Lol 😂 such a good subject
We don't know if we are expecting a boy or a girl so we have narrowed it down to a shortlist of 5 girls names we like and 5 boys names we like and then we will be deciding once baby is born
The choice of girls names my partner and I like in the same order so that's fine but the boys names.... the one I like best is 4th on his list and the one he likes best is 3rd on my list so that should be interesting 😂
We've only told our immediate family ones we like and have said their only suggestions for now and not decided or anything. but haven't told anyone else x I don't care what anyone else says anyway because it's our baby and as Long as we like the name then they will just have to grow to like it lol x

woollycat · 28/02/2020 19:24

Is anyone else getting anxious about Coronavirus?

sazzlerazzle · 28/02/2020 19:55

@woollycat I’m glad you asked because I’ve been really worried but haven’t said anything to anyone about it for fear of sounding dramatic. I worry most about being in hospital and picking something up, as often is the case with things like that :(

woollycat · 28/02/2020 20:00

@sazzlerazzle yeah, hospital is a concern. I am also worried about the tube in London during peak hours ☹️
