@mintbear thank you! I really don’t think I need it but good to know there is something else I can suggest if they insist.

AlmostAlwyn · 19/02/2020 19:53

I did a home project that involved working on the floor and getting up and down quite a bit and my tummy was so tight and sore afterwards! Definitely mention it to your midwife if you're worried, but perhaps just put your feet up a bit more Smile

CharlieB93 · 19/02/2020 20:51

I overdid it at the weekend and my bump was so sore afterwards! I’ve definitely learnt my lesson, maybe you need to slow down a bit and take it steady?

I’m 27+2 today and feeling less and less movements as the days go on... I darent ring my community midwife as she wasn’t very nice about it when I rang her. I wonder if she’s squashed? Anyone else experiencing this?

mintbear · 19/02/2020 21:08

@CharlieB93 sorry to hear your midwife hasnt been very helpful in the past. I'd say if you think you've had decreased movements that's defo a reason to call them.

My consultant has told me to just look at Tommy's rather than googling things, here is their guidance

CharlieB93 · 19/02/2020 21:51

@mintbear thank you for the link x

Moongirl10 · 20/02/2020 02:38

I’ve started to get dull aches just below my ribs when I’ve been sitting down for a while. Had it at the cinema the other day, then at my desk all day today. It’s really uncomfortable! It does go away if I stand up though so I wonder if I’m just squashing and putting pressure on everything when I sit down.

helpasisterout · 20/02/2020 05:45

@CharlieB93 I felt slightly less movement than my usual pattern for 24hrs so phoned the community midwife centre, I got my own community midwife on the phone who can be a bit abrupt on the phone but told to come straight in to be checked and it was such peace of mind and they totally said it was the right thing to do! Please don't let her put you off and give them a phone!

Pastnowfuture · 20/02/2020 09:01

@Moongirl10 I get this same pain when I sit for too long. Consultant appointments were running 1.5hrs behind the other day and I was wriggling/stretching/up and down constantly trying to get some relief!

@CharlieB93 Like others I've had a really good response when I worried I had reduced movement so please do give them a call. You deserve the peace of mind it will provide.

CharlieB93 · 20/02/2020 10:07

@helpasisterout @Pastnowfuture Ah thank you both, yes when i rang last week she made me feel like a silly little girl who was being OTT as i'm a FTM. As much as I love the NHS my experiences throughout this pregnancy have not been great.

november90 · 20/02/2020 10:39

Just had a disastrous midwife app.
Plus 1 glucose in Urine.
Blood pressure low.
Tummy measuring off the scale.
Baby breach.

I just honestly feel like i can't catch a break atm. I'm carrying the whole stress of this pregnancy on my own shoulders now I'm a single mum. I feel SO down :(

Raindancer411 · 20/02/2020 11:32

@november90 Bless you, have you no close friends or a family member to support you?

I haven't felt as much movement today (27+2) so called hospital who got a midwife to call. She could see me but it's not my local and I have my anxiety pregnancy group to attend (and already missed last weeks) She was lovely and said that at 27 weeks as I had feels a couple of movements at least, she wasn't too worked and they do have some quieter days. Going to see if the lady who runs the group can get a midwife to Dopple me whilst at the clinic. If not will see how tonight is and may call my local clinic to see if they can fit me in tmw (although got my 28 week appointment on Tuesday)

november90 · 20/02/2020 14:58

I have family and friends but I still feel alone. Pregnancy is so difficult and as loving as everyone is around me, I can't unload on them like you should be able to with the babies father.
We're starting counciling next week to deal with the issues we had so we can put them behind us and move on separately romantically but together as parents.

So can any of you advice... my diet has been shocking recently. Like really bad. Esp yesterday. Could that have impacted my results today? I had loads of water this morning but I'm just hoping that's what might have impacted my results!

GinUnicorn · 20/02/2020 19:06

@november90 sending you a massive hug. It sounds so tough.

I don’t think diet is supposed to impact results as it’s about how the body processes sugars. Disclaimer I am not medical and could be totally wrong. I wouldn’t worry about one urine test though- its just good it’s picked up so they can treat.

123Pandy · 20/02/2020 19:06

@woollycat did you get a chance to call your midwife. I've been experiencing the exact same thing!
Have a midwife appointment next week so will ask then. Tempted to call triage hotline to see what they say

woollycat · 20/02/2020 19:43

@123Pandy I called the maternity triage line and they said that they are not very concerned if there is no pain, and if the tightness eases when I rest / sit down. I have my 28w appointment in a week so I will bring it up again then but I think for now I'll just have to assume it's normal. Let me know if you find out more too.

facevalue · 20/02/2020 20:17

@november90 i'm impressed you are doing anything at all. you should be proud of yourself for being so strong. diet would affect your results for sure- but your GTT would have showed diabetes if u have it. i didn't get a call back after the test so i'm assuming it's fine- my 28 week appointment is on Monday so will know for sure i hope. Both my sisters had gestational diabetes they both refused insulin and luckily their kids were fine 😘

I really am so so sorry u r going through this - your husband picked the WORST time to disappear- only proves he's a bum that u don't need in the long run ( obviously not how u r feeling now).

me on the other hand - had a long calm chat with my hubby this am - i was dying inside from feelings of guilt about wanting to separate. he's so open and keen to try anything to stay together- not sure if it will work but i'm kind enough to give it a go ( i'm pregnant) it's not like i'm wanting to date anyone in this state anyway.

123Pandy · 20/02/2020 21:23

@november90 sorry to hear you're going through a rough time. Can't imagine how isolated you must feel. Try and reach out to friends and family if you can...and you have support on this thread ☺️

@woollycat I did the same - called triage and she said if there's no bleeding / water leakage/ pain , should be ok. As I notice it more towards the end of the day she also said it could be linked to tiredness

sao81 · 20/02/2020 21:30

For everyone feeling discomfort, pain etc. I've been the same the past couple of days. I just put it down to being ill, but maybe we've hit a certain stage in our pregnancies now were it all starts to ache 😩 suppose the good thing is we are all either at, or near abouts hitting 3rd trimester now - the final stretch!! We will have our babies soon 🥰

sao81 · 20/02/2020 21:41

@CharlieB93 did you manage to get seen in the end? If I ever have issues with reduced movement I've been told from 26 weeks to contact the Mat assessment unit at the hospital, maybe you could try them if your midwife is being an arse about it

@november90 just remember you are doing amazing, you are going through one of the most difficult things anyone could go through, whilst still looking after your little boy and being 6 months pregnant! Baby still has time to move, scans tend to be more accurate than the fundal measurements too so try not to worry too much about that either atm. I can't help with diet though, I'm like a pig lately 🙈

@facevalue I hope you are able to work things out and things improve for you 💞 don't feel guilty for wanting the most from your relationship when you feel like you are getting the least, you've just been honest which is always best!

Has anyone ever had an ultrasound on their urinary tract? I've been referred for one next week, I mentioned at the MAU that I'm on my 4th UTI this pregnancy, then got a letter through today with the appointment. Just hoping it won't be something too serious

november90 · 20/02/2020 22:21

Thank you all I really do appreciate all your kind words! I just honestly feel like I can't catch a breath at the minute. I'm so scared of a c section, especially now being a single mum to two boys. My little boy loves our cuddles and to be carried and to sit on my knee, I don't know how I'd cope without that whilst I recovered.
I think I needed a reality check with my eating though so maybe all of this has happened for a reason and something good will come out of it as I really have been eating way too much chocolate and crap!

CharlieB93 · 21/02/2020 06:57

@sao81 no I didn’t, I don’t have a actual midwife at the GPS as she left so the person I rang was the hospital midwife team. I just got told it was too early to monitor movement and they weren’t worried (glad they’re not) 🙄 last night she was ON ONE though 😂 I was desperately trying to sleep as I’d had such a long day and work and she wouldn’t sit still at all 🤦‍♀️ It’s strange how she was so quiet for 3 days though 🤷‍♀️

woollycat · 21/02/2020 08:09

Thanks all who replied about also having a tight bump and feeling discomfort. I am going to try and rest this weekend and take it easy.

I am with you on the crappy diet. I was doing ok but this last week there'll be a point in the day where I start eating sugary snacks and desserts and then feel bloated and heavy. I am going to try and eat more healthy, maybe we can all encourage each other to do so. We'll feel much better!

sao81 · 21/02/2020 08:34

@CharlieB93 is your placenta anterior? I had alot of reduced movement last time and itd usually be because baby had moved behind the placenta and was cushioning the kicks. If it happens again I'd be adament that you want to be seen though, they can't really assess that you are fine on the back of a phone call!
@woollycat I definitely need some encouragement! I found myself eating having spoons of chocolate spread yesterday 🙈

Sunshine8888 · 21/02/2020 08:41

I’m really trying not to worry too much about eating, this is the one time in my life I feel I can let myself have these treats and not feel super guilty! Chocolate has become a daily fix when it used to be weekly. Currently very much into chocolate chip shortbread from the bakery right by work, I’ve had to limit myself to buying one on a Friday though as they’re huge and so bad! 😂
