@Sunshine8888 for me it's more that I actually physically feel sick after overeating or eating crap. I only feel good for the 1 minute when I am eating it, and then just start feeling heavy, or having indigestion, etc. So it's really not worth it!

Raindancer411 · 21/02/2020 09:14

I seem to feel constantly sick after eating 😭

CharlieB93 · 21/02/2020 09:50

@sao81 tell me about it! No its not anterior, shes been mental today as usual typically. To be honest with you I feel like i daren't ever ring again and they made me feel silly.

Anyone else getting sick of comments about labour? Had someone tell me this morning someone they worked with ripped 'front to back' and then were incontinent after. Why does this help me as a heavily pregnant woman? What can i gain from this information?

123Pandy · 21/02/2020 11:31

Same! This week alone I've had chocolate and cakes every day, four cheese pasta twice this week and a McDonald's. All I want to eat is bad food - I'm trying not to feel too guilty 🙈 but agreed , healthier food options would defiantly be better right now

123Pandy · 21/02/2020 11:32

@CharlieB93 I've had this also. The thing is no one tells you the nice stories, always the horrors!

sao81 · 21/02/2020 12:32

@123Pandy oh id love a mcdonalds now 😂 its like im craving junk food maybe its the salt idk but i want it all. No wonder I've gained so much the past 3 weeks!

@CharlieB93 you shouldn't be made to feel like that. Hopefully you dont need to call again, but if you do and someone has that attitude I'd just calmly ask to speak to the matron/shift lead about it, it could just be a particular staff member, but you should feel comfortable asking for someone to check on your babies welfare - it is there job afterall! I phoned yesterday for reduced movements at 27 weeks and she told me "you're not pregnant enough to need monitoring" 🤣 I feel bloody pregnant enough!!! She came out to me though and did a full antenatal check. They put so much out there about feeling your baby, being on top of any patterns and movements - how can you not be paranoid when something changes!?

sazzlerazzle · 22/02/2020 10:33

@Clairesoph bloody hell what a ridiculous thing for a midwife to say!! And yes I get reminded at every single appointment about monitoring movement and get shown the Tommy’s leaflet every time (which is very clear about ringing if there’s ANY change) so to hear the experience some of you are having is really rubbish :(

CharlieB93 · 22/02/2020 10:56

@Clairesoph that’s ridiculous! I think it depends on where you are and what trust etc. I’ve never once been told to monitor movements (but then again I’ve never seen the same midwife twice!)

RainMinusBow · 22/02/2020 17:31

Anybody else who just cannot get comfy? I'm only 26 weeks so know it's going to get worse!! Feel dizzy on my back (and know you should really be on your side anyway), feel uncomfortable sitting up and being booted in the belly!

And as for car journeys... Shock

I've done this twice before but last baby was ten years ago!

Any advice much appreciated x

facevalue · 22/02/2020 17:39

happy saturday xxx
every time i eat ( bread containing) meal ... i'm so uncomfortable bloated etc i literally spent 2 hour after lunch just rolling in bed ... they say u can develop coeliac symptoms during pregnancy - anyone feeling this? i try to avoid food now

sazzlerazzle · 22/02/2020 19:56

@Sunshine8888 have you bought sheets and mattress protector from Snuzpod or are you buying non branded ones elsewhere?

woollycat · 22/02/2020 20:35

@sazzlerazzle I am planning on buying sheets from snuzpod. Do we really need a mattress protector? 🤔 I was hoping to get away without it but I suppose it might help prolong the matress' life?

sazzlerazzle · 22/02/2020 20:56

@woollycat hmm I’m not sure, there’s a waterproof mattress protector on their site which I’m thinking of getting, like you say to prolong the life of the mattress

facevalue · 22/02/2020 21:00

@woollycat @sazzlerazzle YESSS definitely a mattress protector is a must - you will thank me later 😑😑😑 honestly and a mattress protector for your bed as well. all kids get that awful d&v and it is no fun i promise xxx good luck

sazzlerazzle · 22/02/2020 21:06

Thanks @facevalue ! Will definitely get one then, won’t take any chances! x

woollycat · 22/02/2020 21:08

Haha yes you have easily conviced me too @facevalue 😀

RainMinusBow · 22/02/2020 21:50

I'm sure I read somewhere waterproof mattress protectors are not safe to use on a cot for a baby?

facevalue · 22/02/2020 22:17

@rainminusbow vomit and diarrhoea infuses mattress is more dangerous 😂

each to their own though x

RainMinusBow · 22/02/2020 22:24

It was sooooo long ago I had my first two I can't remember what I did re bedding! I was fortunate that they weren't sicky babies (breastfed, I think that helped) and this little one will be too so fingers crossed. And again with runny bums, don't think they ever leaked on their mattresses really.

Not that they were ever in their own cot - we didn't even bother buying the youngest his own cot or bed!!

facevalue · 22/02/2020 22:42

@rainminusbow mine was breastfed too - it has nothing to do with it. not sure you said that.

facevalue · 22/02/2020 22:43

why'

RainMinusBow · 22/02/2020 22:55

Because bf babies tend to be a little less sicky than formula in the main?

facevalue · 22/02/2020 23:05

@rainminusbow. it's a mattress protector for anything liquid - vomit, pee, poo, baby lotion, olive oil etc ... breastfeeding has no relevance ... all kids get bugs or diseases or simple accidents - no shame or showing off about the matter. be kind to fellow mums / mums to be.
