Midwife said to me not to worry what position baby is in until 34 weeks plus

facevalue · 16/02/2020 08:33

happy sunday everyone.
@november90 you can choose any name you like but don't do that for revenge only. i notice u r still calling him " my partner" start using the word ex to get used to it 😑😢

you are doing so well x hang in there

facevalue · 16/02/2020 08:34

@Sunshine8888 the baby moves all the time. they only want to know to decide if they need to manually move the baby or consider c section- so it's just for planning x you still deliver a breech baby x

GinUnicorn · 16/02/2020 09:06

I don’t think they worry unless baby is still in wrong position at around 35 weeks. Apparently at the moment they move all the time.

Hope you are all doing well. I’m stressing about my maternity replacement. I’d found a lovely lady who will do a great job and I totally trust and now for some reason they like this young guy who has none of the skills needed and I know will mess up all my hard work. Finding it stressful as I just want to know things are in good hands while I’m off.

sazzlerazzle · 16/02/2020 09:52

@ginunicorn I’m having a bit of a stressful time with this too. I have begun interviewing for my replacement and now the owner has decided he wants to be involved and is changing the requirements of what the replacement needs to be. He doesn’t know what I do on a day to day basis and doesn’t seem interested either. I’m so worried about how much will slip while I’m away and what on Earth my job will look like when I get back!! 😣

Sunshine8888 · 16/02/2020 11:42

@facevalue yep I know baby keeps moving, that’s what I meant - people seemed to be worrying about the baby not being head down yet but it’s too early to tell atm and too early to worry as it could change. My baby is head down but she could move again

sazzlerazzle · 16/02/2020 14:10

Ladies, is it really over the top if my hospital bag is a suitcase on wheels? Like one of those little one person/weekend cases. I’ve got a big hold-all that fits everything in but just think the suitcase would be easier.... but don’t want people staring at me like I’m under the impression I’m checking into a hotel 😂

mintbear · 16/02/2020 14:18

@sazzlerazzle I'm planning on bringing my hand luggage suitcase that's on wheels- perfect for hospital corridors!

GinUnicorn · 16/02/2020 14:26

@sazzlerazzle I feel mean but it’s nice to know I’m not alone!

Re hospital bag I think bring what you need and don’t worry about the size. Better than being without something.

RainMinusBow · 16/02/2020 14:43

I'm 25+2 pregnant with baby number 3 (first baby for fiancé) - have two boys who will be 10 and almost 13 when this little girl arrives 😊

In our authority you are only seen at 25 weeks if expecting your first baby.

I'm planning a home birth this time around so I'm meeting my HB midwife next week when I'm 26+4. She's coming out to me at home in the evening which is great from a work pov as I work ft as a teacher.

Nervous but excited at the same time!

sao81 · 16/02/2020 15:01

Sorry I've gone missing again, I think I have a bug I don't ferl too good at all😷
@caspianberg my little girl was measuring as 8lbs at 36 weeks, she was born at 39 weeks 7lb 1oz 😂 as long as you or someone else can pop out and get you smaller if needed you should be fine!

I haven't been weighed at all since my booking app. I don't know if I even want to know the weight gain tbh. I done slimming world during last pregnancy and gained around 3 stone, but I lost 23lb after the first 2 weeks post partum so most of it was baby weight.

@mintbear april seems so soon! I've been told ill more than likely be taken in at 37 weeks, which brings me to around 5th May! Its nice being able to plan around when it will happen in a way isnt it

@november90 my little girl was still breach at 32 weeks, by 36 weeks she was head down and ready! So i wouldn't worry this early on

@sazzlerazzle last time I had full on suitcase 😂 and noone batted an eyelid! You need to take everything that is going to make you comfortable, the bag size or type of bag really doesnt matter as long as you have everything you need to make things easier

Hey ladies, hope you don't mind me joining the party!
I'm 29wks 2 days, due date is the 1st may! Just thought it would be nice to have some people to chat to. Iv been suffering terribly with PGP, got a physio appointment in March, not holding much hope for this from other people experiences. I'm sure like the rest of you I'm looking forward to that finish line and having little baba here with me!

sao81 · 16/02/2020 17:28

@chickennuggets2 good luck with the physio! I had 2 sessions and told thats it, so I hope you get more help 💞

OP posts:
chickennuggets2 · 16/02/2020 17:45

@sao81 oh no that's not good! I'm a bit worried as mine is a group session I have to go to so I doubt i will get anything sorted for my needs. Mine is mainly in my groin. Have you been suffering long with yours? It actually seems to have improved the past two days which is nice as I've been able to do a little more than normal! I have found a birthing ball is soothing along with heat compression around my pubic area. Have you found anything to help?

sao81 · 16/02/2020 19:08

@chickennuggets2 I've been suffering from about 14 weeks, im 25+5 now, mine started in my right hip but its all the way across now, i can feel my hip rubbing and people in work have heard it click before too 🤢 so I'm just resting as much as I can. I've never heard of group sessions though so maybe it'll be different! I joined the pelvic partnership facebook page and they've had loads of good advice when needed xxx

chickennuggets2 · 16/02/2020 19:15

@sao81 mine is mainly a sharp pain on the left side of my pubic area, feels like I'm getting ripped apart at times. It's awful so I definitely sympathise with you!

GinUnicorn · 16/02/2020 20:10

@RainMinusBow I’m planning a home birth too! Think we are the only ones on this thread :)

RainMinusBow · 16/02/2020 21:05

@GinUnicorn That's fab! Yes, we're definitely the minority so it's good to connect with someone also planning a HB. When are you due? Do you have children already? 😊

sazzlerazzle · 16/02/2020 21:16

Thanks ladies, suitcase it is! I don’t travel light at the best of times, packing for two people will be interesting...

@GinUnicorn it’s not mean to want things done properly! 😂 I’m the only one in our office who does my job so it’s completely in someone else’s hands whilst I’m away and god does that make me nervous!

GinUnicorn · 16/02/2020 22:00

@RainMinusBow. I have one but I have a history of rapid labour - first tine was 3.5 hours so I’m worried I won’t make it to the hospital in time. Home birth seems safer!

@sazzlerazzle I know it’s another thing to get worried about though. I wish I could switch off!

ChickenNugget86 · 16/02/2020 23:42

Hope you are all well.

I'm 29 weeks now, still being sick has been like this since week 5.

On tinzaparin injections every day which are getting harder to inject as my tummy is firmer. No sign of preclammsia though so suppose that's a positive.

Had the blood glucose test last week and unfortunately it's come back that my blood sugar levels are high so looks like I have gestational diabetes.

I'm really gutted to be honest. I am being well looked after by my hospital but every time I go there seems to be a problem and it's hard not to get down.

Have scans every 3 weeks and was told the baby is on the smaller side on the last scan.

Been told not to have a c session as it's too risky for me, the Dr I seen actually told me I could bleed to death so didn't give me any confidence. Can't have a water birth as I'm high risk and my BMI is over 35. As I'm on blood thinner injections it limits me having an epidural.

Sorry for the moan but I'm really fed up x

chickennuggets2 · 17/02/2020 06:02

@ChickenNugget89 bless you! Doesn't sound like your having an easy ride!
I also have a high BMI so I take 75mg aspirin daily, can't have a water birth either, which is rubbish because apparently with PGP it actually helps so could of actually done with having one!
Try not to beat your self up, it will be over before you know it! Sending love x

May2311 · 17/02/2020 07:01

Morning everyone!

I'm totally in countdown mode- only 7 weeks left at work 😂🙄 I'll be finishing at 34weeks as I have leave to use beforehand.

I've not been well last few days- water infection and then my PGP has flared up really badly. Staying positive though as have antibiotics and I haven't been doing my exercises last few days with feeling so bad so going to start them up again today( hopefully this will help with PGP!!)

Hope everyone else is doing ok! Happy Monday. Xxx

AlmostAlwyn · 17/02/2020 07:13

@GinUnicorn @RainMinusBow I would love a home birth, but I can't have one where I live Sad I'll just have to do the same as last time and do as much labouring at home as possible then head to the hospital. My son was born 90 minutes after we got to the hospital last time Smile

I might try the Freya app this time - has anyone used it?

@ChickenNugget86 aw that sounds tough! Keep your eye on the prize Flowers

@May2311 hope you're feeling better and the exercises help Smile
