@CharlieB93 -35lbs is 16kg roughly. I feel like I would put that last 5-6 kg on in the next 11 weeks as that's when they gain the most weight.. Oh well, am eating more but mainly healthy so can't really change much right now. Was 50kg (7.9 stone) before pregnancy so fairly small.

@sao81 @Raindancer411 - Thanks, baby has been in 90%+ percentiles until now so not predicted to be tiny, but will see what his estimated weight is at next scan in March.

Sunshine8888 · 14/02/2020 08:38

No idea what I weighed before or what I weighed after! Midwife hasn’t weighed me at any appointments so I’m just not worrying about it. I have moved into maternity clothes now but still size 8 as I was before - really would be so pleased if I can stay that way!! I definitely eat worse and more but I used to love wine so not sure my calorie intake is any worse now to be honest!! So many calories in wine 😂

Caspianberg · 14/02/2020 09:09

We get weighed here at every scan (every 4 weeks), and I'm sure they would tell me if its too much weight as they aren't known for subtleness.
Have maternity jeans (size 8), but everything else generally fits still so I am hoping to get around with just wearing my baggier items the next few weeks and not buy anything else (or steal DHs t-shirts!)

Did buy a few new tops a few days to hopefully use afterwards with Breastfeeding, as owned very few tops which had easy access. They are just regular shirt type blouses rather than 'nursing tops' though.

november90 · 14/02/2020 09:14

It's only really been these past few weeks that I've started to feel the weight pile on! My legs feel massive now! But if I learnt anything from my last pregnancy it is that the weight will come off and before you know it you will be back to where you want to be! Pregnancy is only temporary and it's a massive strain mentally and physically. It's hard to accept the weight gain and change in your body, but be kind to yourselves lady because your pregnancy will be a distant memory soon ❤️

november90 · 14/02/2020 09:15

nobody will be looking at you thinking, god she looks fat! People will be looking at those gorgeous bumps and feeling envious of them! Trust me ☺️

Moongirl10 · 14/02/2020 11:53

We get weighed by the midwife here every 4 weeks. I’m 26 weeks and have put on about 9 lbs, but also suffered from eating disorder in the past so it’s quite scary seeing the weight go up!

Lu1u · 14/02/2020 12:04

Hi all, had the 28 week midwife appointment and all good still apart from bump/fundal height is off the chart at 33cm. She didn't seem too concerned but if it jumps up at the next appointment/doesn't follow the curve it's on I will be referred for a growth scan etc.

I gained over 5 stone in my first pregnancy (and I was not small to start with, I just had an enormous appetite throughout pregnancy 🙄!) and always measured bang on fundal height wise and blood pressure/wee/bloods were always fine. I have gained far less this time so I feel a bit put out about it (still loads in comparison to some of you 😁), and slightly worried I will be induced early or something but I guess I will just have to wait and see what happens at the 33 week appointment I have booked.

Is any one else measuring way ahead?

Sunshine8888 · 14/02/2020 13:21

Hi @Lu1u, do you not have an appointment before 33 weeks? Mine have got much more regular now, every 2-3 weeks. At my 28 week app, I was booked in to be seen at 31 weeks. Maybe it’s different depending where we live

woollycat · 14/02/2020 13:33

@Lu1u I was the opposite, at the 25w appointment the fundal height was 22cm which was way off the chart. They referred us to a growth scan which showed baby at 59th percentile. The fundal height measurement is super inaccurate for a lot of pregnancies!

mintbear · 14/02/2020 13:40

@Lu1u I'm measuring big but so is baby. I'm 95th% on bump size and baby is 97th% for all measurements (head, abdomen, femur).

I have been diagnosed with GD, my monitored levels over the past 3 months are all under the limits so I think I have just grown a big babygrowth scans are every 2 weeks.

I've 'hit' all the symptoms/milestones ahead of time throughout pregnancy. Baby is currently 3/4 weeks ahead of where he 'should' be so they are keeping a close eye on me with the GD and I'm having growth scans every 2 weeks.

Have you had a glucose test?

I'm at home again today, still throwing up several times a day. I'm going to have an early c section so I'm counting down the weeks, all going to plan he will be here mid April.

mintbear · 14/02/2020 13:40

Sorry for the mixed up message!

Sunshine8888 · 14/02/2020 13:41

Does anyone feel their baby hiccup? I’ve felt it quite a few times now. It’s so cute 🥰

Raindancer411 · 14/02/2020 14:50

@Sunshine8888 I did with my first and he has always been a hiccupy baby/toddler/kid. Not felt it at all with this one

GinUnicorn · 14/02/2020 18:35

My little one got hiccups in labour last tine! Did not need extra sensations!

november90 · 14/02/2020 19:31

Girls my first baby was 9lbs4oz so I'm with you on feeling very anxious about babies size!!
I have a scan tomorrow so I'm hoping they will tel me he's where he should be. I have terrible anxiety about a 10lb baby!

facevalue · 14/02/2020 19:34

Is everyone avoiding the V word?

it's valentine's day - i tell you this my husband is wearing his box of chocolates 😂😂😂

what's with the bullshit that men seem to get sucked into !!! he thought " u must be so fed up if flowers and probably enjoy luxurious chocolates more" .. my reply: " stuff your chocolates and never use your brain for these occasions. valentines ALWAYS roses and u can add silly things like chocolates dinner champagne diamonds etc" never eliminate the card and roses ( unless some hates flowers for health reasons).

🙄 so he's grumpy now and i'm just gonna watch a movie a lone 😬 ( not even sad about it😡 he better get his act together). he got me beautiful flowers and dinner every year - so now i'm a pregnant barrel i get bloody chocolates and no dinner😡

rant over. i feel i'm thinner and my bump is smaller this pregnancy than my first🤔 my midwife appointment on 24th feb so will definitely ask her!

i didn't hear anything about my GTT so i'm assuming it's ok🤐

Moonstone12 · 14/02/2020 21:48

@lu1u at 25 weeks I was measuring 34 weeks 😂 I was sent for a growth scan and baby was fine! I get regular growth scans because I had a 10lb 4oz baby last time so they are keeping an eye on this one but She's on the 53rd centile so we are not worried. I'm still measuring ahead now at 28 weeks but tbh I think my uterus was so stretched last time it's like a baggy balloon 😂😂😂 I had a 28 week scan and got ones at 32,36 and 40 weeks to keep an eye on her size. No GD as far as I'm aware (I've turned the test down unless baby has a spike in growth as I never had GD last time)

Basically what I'm trying to say is don't worry. Measuring with a tape measure is not accurate at all xx

Moongirl10 · 14/02/2020 21:53

Thanks @facevalue that’s very helpful!

november90 · 15/02/2020 07:27

So girls, me and my husband had decided a name for the baby but after what's happened I just cannot name him that anymore. I feel like that name is for a different baby. It just doesn't seem right.
My husband has told me he's not bothered what the baby's surname is and asked if I was keeping the agreed name as if he would be fine if I wasn't...... so I loved a name in the past but husband wasn't keen. It's the only other name I love. I'm thinking of telling him in a Few weeks that I want to use that name. After all, I'm gonna be a single mum, the main carer. If he agrees to it, I'm not being out of order am I?

Lifesforlivingandloving · 15/02/2020 07:39

@november90
I think you have every right to suggest a different name. You have valid reason for not wanting to use the original name decided so he shouldn't argue this X anyhow like you say he's left you to become a single mum which you had no say over! So I think go ahead and use the name YOU like x Smile

november90 · 15/02/2020 14:23

You're so right @Lifesforlivingandloving !!

Went for my 3D scan today and the baby is breach and couldn't see his face. Measurements are ok, although large head. Concerned about him being breach now :( anyone heard of anything to help them turn?i know it's still early but I am just worried!

Raindancer411 · 15/02/2020 14:31

@november90 My midwife said 30 per cent will still be breach at 30 weeks but only 1 per cent at full term. Mine is the same and I have a birthing ball to sit on nearer the time as I have heard that can help.

Caspianberg · 15/02/2020 15:01

@november90 - mine was head up at 27 week scan, they re-did at 28 week as couldn't see stuff first time and he had moved to transverse/ head slightly down in juts that week. Consultant said they don't even check position really until gone 34 weeks as before then baby still has lots of space so one head down at 28 weeks can easily move back and vis versa.

november90 · 15/02/2020 15:32

Thank you both I already feel better! I'm just so anxious at the minute I didn't need this! I'm going back in 2 weeks to see if we can get a better picture of his face! I've read online you can do pelvic lifts at home to help. I might start doing them just in case 🙈
