@AlmostAlwyn haha... fab. Yeah I might five that a go but I think people really will think I’ve lost it then 😂😂

CharlieB93 · 12/02/2020 15:21

Anyone else getting sick of people scaremongering about labour?
I’ve literally just had a ‘friend’ message me out of the blue to ask if I’m starting to get worried yet. When I replied not really, what will be will be, she said well you should be it’s absolutely awful!

(Maybe it’s me being oversensitive but I’ve really no patience for negativity at the minute - I’m trying my best working 40 hours a week, running a house etc. Trying to remain calm and positive)

sao81 · 12/02/2020 16:00

@CharlieB93 me! Everyone last time said I was mad that I was excited for labour, then when I got induced "it'll be worse for you its gonna be horrible you'll have a section" bla bla bla. When I told people my labour went ok "you must be lying its horrendous" now I have people saying oh second time the pains are worse etc. Why not just leave us be!

@CharlieB93 omg this drove me crazy in My first pregnancy! Everyone was like you'll never have time to get your nails done, you won't be doing your hair when babys here, you won't be doing this, you won't be doing that.... you're life will be so s h I t 😂 it really got me down! My mum told me that I will make time for whatever I want to do and if my priorities change, then I will still be doing what makes me happy! Turns out she was right! I still get my hair and nails done, I still do all the things that I loved before and some of my old hobbies have slipped off the radar but I don't care! I'm happy 😀 as for giving birth, call me crazy but I can't wait to do it again! Yeah it wasn't the most comfortable or relaxing thing in my life but it was the most wonderful and special thing and I am SO proud of myself!!! Ignore everyone else as they really are just jelous.

So I didn't hear because from the midwife about my glucose test so that means I must be ok, hurray!
I've got my 3D scan on Saturday which I'm looking forward to as well. The baby moves round so much more now, it's just so lovely!

Here's my 27 week bump. I feel like a elephant 🙈

@sao81 it’s weird because part of me is looking forward to labour because I’ve never experienced it before! (And obvs I’ll get to meet my little girl!) I’ve explicitly said to people that I don’t want to hear their negative comments as it’ll just pointlessly frighten me but still they carry on 🙄

@november90 aww what a lovely little bump! You def do not look like a elephant 😂 at least you’re not carrying your pregnancy weight anywhere but your stomach! Mines even on my face 🤓 where’s your dress from?

Raindancer411 · 12/02/2020 17:20

@CharlieB93 You are the same as me, I am bigger than they and am 27 weeks next Tuesday (but it is my second), and I am carrying it every where lol

sao81 · 12/02/2020 17:29

@CharlieB93 i had the same mindset as you! I just told myself the pain was good pain and I was getting my daughter at the end of it, and I think that really helped (that and diamorphine haha) but you will be fine!

@november90 aah your bump is so neat! And good to hear about the GTT too! Bet you are so excited for your scan, they amaze me!

Heres my "bumpie"! 25+2, I feel huge 😩

This is me at 26! I feel huge! Any guesses on what we are having according to old wives tales of carrying? We don't know :)

CharlieB93 · 12/02/2020 17:35

@Raindancer411 I’m 27 weeks on Monday!! Its my first aswell 🤦‍♀️ I think I’ve gained about 16 pounds 🤦‍♀️ I was worrying about how much weight I was going to gain at the start but right now idgaf 😂😇
@sao81 I’m quite intrigued about this magical diamorphine I keep hearing about... 😂

mrsf1204 · 12/02/2020 17:36

Argh picture didn't post....

sao81 · 12/02/2020 17:41

@mrsf1204 I'd say girl! Your bump looks high, although mine seems high now and I'm having a boy 🤣
@CharlieB93 oh it's amazing 😂😂 I think some hospitals offer diamorphine otherts pethadine. Its an injection into your thigh that you can get in labour, it done the trick for me and I was on a drip to bring on contractions which is apparently more painful. It stopped me needing an epidural, I'd have it again this time round

OP posts:
CharlieB93 · 12/02/2020 17:54

@mrsf1204 I’d say girl too! (No scientific reason 😂)

@sao81 ohhh lovely it sounds amazing 😂 it’s really funny, lots of girls at work have been raving about how good it is, made them sound like recreational drug users haha

sao81 · 12/02/2020 18:35

@CharlieB93 I said to my OH afterwards that I can see why people get addicted to smack 🤣🤣🤣 I had the best 3 hours of my life off that, just giggled constant! Then the reality of pushing kicked in 😬

OP posts:
CharlieB93 · 12/02/2020 19:05

@sao81 I’m definitely signing myself up for a bit of that on my birth plan 😂😂

november90 · 12/02/2020 19:38

@CharlieB93 aww thank you! It really is just the angle, I've put so much weight in my legs and bum 🙈 but oh well! I'll deal with that in June! My dress is from mamalicious! I absolutely love their maternity range, SO comfy!!

@mrsf1204 oohhh I'm just gonna throw a spanner in the works and say boy as it looks a little lower to me! But boy or girl, it's a lovely bump and so are all the other photos! Love seeing them! Haven't we all come far and achieved so much already! 😀

sao81 · 13/02/2020 09:06

Sorry if TMI, does anyone else feel swollen down below?! I've just been the toilet and it felt weird so I had a feel and it feels really swollen, especially by where I had my stitches last time.

OP posts:
helpasisterout · 13/02/2020 10:23

Totally sympathise with everyone with work issues.. I'm finally sorted with mine I think even though they have been totally useless.. roll on being finished and 99% sure I won't be going back as if they have been so useless now they won't be any better with a return to work plan I shouldn't think!!

I CANT stop eating 🤦🏽‍♀️ scared to stand on the scales but feel ive ballooned this week at 26 weeks!

Rebecca612 · 13/02/2020 11:25

@sao81 yes! I keep worrying I'm either about to give birth early or have a dreaded prolapse so start doing more pelvic floor exercises haha! Its normally fine next time I check/go to the loo though.

The joys of being pregnant hey!

I feel like the last 25 weeks have gone by so quickly, yet I feel like I've been pregnant for ages.

sao81 · 13/02/2020 12:12

@helpasisterout I'm like a human bin lately i dont stop 😩😩 debating going back to slimming world for the last few weeks before it gets out of hand! I followed it right the way through the first time but this time I'm like a crisp monster 🙈

@rebecca612 its a weird feeling isnt it! I rang my midwife in a panic (i panic over everything she must be sick of me) and she said its quite common if you have spd which I do. Said to have a little look down there and see how it looks. Its definitely swollen and its definitely put me off any valentines intimacy tomorrow I feel paranoid now 😭🙈

OP posts:
Rebecca612 · 13/02/2020 12:15

@sao81 ooo I have that so that's good to know! Well done for even thinking about V day intimacy, but just get jiggy with it, you'll be fine haha

I'm an absolute crisp monster as well - I would eat a share bag of crisps instead of lunch if I had my way. So bad!!!

Caspianberg · 13/02/2020 12:50

Afternoon, another question. Had a delivery of 0-3 month old vests and baby sleepsuits from M and s. They seem huge! Do I need to buy newborn size as well? DH was like ' no 0-3 is from 0 so they will be fine...' or can i just turn sleeves up and have baggy legs a few weeks? (anything is on international delivery to us so not easy to just pick up extras last minute)

Caspianberg · 13/02/2020 12:52

Or and I am now 29 weeks, have gained 10kg. Is this about normal? it seems a lot as I haven't really put weight on anywhere apart from bump and boobs slightly.

CharlieB93 · 13/02/2020 14:01

I literally cannot stop eating either guys.. i've struggled with eating disorders in the past and i'm finding it quite hard as i'm hungry for naughty things (such as biscuits) then i'm upset as i'm going to put weight on for eating bad things! I've eaten 1200 calories already today (its 2pm here!) ooooops....

@Caspianberg Yep i think thats right in the middle of normal isnt it? They say up to 35 pounds throughout the whole pregnancy? Obviously depending on your size before (not sure what that is in kg)

sao81 · 13/02/2020 14:06

@Caspianberg I found that newborn or next first size was perfect for my little girl, 0-3 was huge on her for the first 3 or 4 weeks so I'd definitely get a couple of smaller bits just incase!

OP posts:
Raindancer411 · 13/02/2020 16:02

@Caspianberg I would stick with the 0-3 and if you need smaller, get it then. My boy was 7lb 2 and fitted on in the 0-3 but he was a long baby. Sticking with 0-3 this time too.
