@sarahlounich yes, on prescription. You can buy both OTC, but I think pharmacist probably can't sell to pregnant women, although safe to use. Definitely worth getting when it's this bad so early on

umabb · 16/01/2020 07:35

Ah sounds rather confusing ! But glad baby is all healthy and that's the most important thing ! :)
Here's mine at 16wks (baby pls don't hate me showing your private part Grin)

umabb · 16/01/2020 07:36

Oops failed to upload photo. Will try again after get in work. Signal bad on train...

Busylizzie85 · 16/01/2020 07:46

My private scan said girl so I am hoping the 20 week scan confirms this otherwise they will be wearing a lot of pink and travelling around in a pink travel system we bought before mother care closed!

I'm 19+4 today and for about a week and a half I've been having more and more pronounced movements and kicks. In the evening, when lying in the couch, I can even see and feel the kicks with my hand. But last night it didn't happen and I've been worried sick all night. I feel like it's too early to have sort of movement pattern but I've been feeling it every evening since last week. I feel as though I can feel some more muted movements in there, as though the baby has moved and is now facing my back, but it's hard to be certain.

Do you think the midwives will think it's too soon for me to phone up because I'm worried? I just want someone to listen for a heartbeat and tell me everything's OK. Scan isn't until next Wednesday and I can't wait that long! What should I do?

Lemonysherbet · 16/01/2020 08:22

@adp1981 try having an ice cold drink, fizzy drink or ice lolly, that makes my little boy wriggle around, reassuring if you're ever worried :) otherwise I would phone the midwife and explain. They'll be able to help

@Busylizzie85 your private scan looks similar to mine and I was told girl too! So fingers crossed they were right for both of us!

APD1981 · 16/01/2020 10:14

Within an hour of phoning midwife triage I've just seen my beautiful baby on a scan. Everything is fine. MW struggled to locate a heartbeat with the doppler but could feel it kicking! So a sonographer came and squeezed me in for a quick look in between appointments. I was even given 2 photos. What a wonderful NHS we have x

UKtoSK · 16/01/2020 10:31

@AmyMaria2 that must be such a shock! I had my 16 week scan on Saturday and was told it’s a girl but I’m so worried that at the 20 week scan it’ll suddenly show that she’s actually a boy! I’ve got so attached to the idea of a girl already. Great that your scan showed everything looked healthy though. Hopefully your second scan in two weeks will clear things up. I’ll attach my baby’s potty shot again for comparison.

@APD1981 that is wonderful service ! I called the maternity advice line (a few hospitals here have this 24*7 service) yesterday about exactly the same thing. The MW was very friendly, said in her experience it's very normal to feel movement on and off at this stage but she said I could ring early pregnancy for a listen in if I was really worried. I eventually didn't do that and felt baby's (subtle) moves again. I might do though if it starts to worry me again. My scan isn't until Jan 27th...

umabb · 16/01/2020 10:33

I don't seem to be able to upload a photo with my phone. How do you guys do it?

UKtoSK · 16/01/2020 10:45

@umabb I have an iPhone and it looks like this for me. Click the paper clip and then click add from library and then post. If that’s not working for you then maybe it’s a connection problem?

@MissisBee I'm really not technical either ha ha, how do I send a PM? Lol x

APD1981 · 16/01/2020 11:00

@umabb it was great to be taken seriously and not fobbed off. I cried buckets and was given so many hugs, too. Even the sonographer gave me a huge hug as they could see how worried I was.

Interestingly, I've just been told my placenta is anterior which is weird because I've been feeling very pronounced movements from about 17 weeks. It's only since yesterday they seem to have changed. I assume baby had moved position which has made the difference. It's sitting upright with its legs crossed today!

Rinoa · 16/01/2020 11:18

Hi ladies , hope I can join. Think I may know a few of you from our private FB group? Btw let me know if you want to join there's about 12 of us there. Have my 20 week scan tomorrow and it can't come soon enough! 16week scan guesses it was a boy , but I can't wait to finally confirm! I'll take either!

@UKtoSK thanks xx after I click the paper clip it brought me to a + icon then I click that it takes me straight to take a photo - doesnt seem to be able to switch to album. Rather strange and I use an iPhone too hehe. Maybe I'm not using the latest version of this app.

Zoey92 · 16/01/2020 11:24

umabb · 16/01/2020 11:26

@APD1981 awww hugs! It's lovely that they are so helpful and very sweet too! Don't worry. Our babies are tough! x

Pegase · 16/01/2020 11:56

@MissisBee how do I join the FB group?

UKtoSK · 16/01/2020 12:00

@umabb ah I’m not using an app, just looking at the website on the chrome app. I wonder if that’s why? I didn’t even know there was an app!

Rinoa · 16/01/2020 12:21

@Pegase you just need to DM your email and we can add you.

LillianFullStop · 16/01/2020 12:36

Welcome @Rinoa! My 20w scan is tomorrow so we are scan buddies!

Can't my keep my mind off it now I hope I have good news to bring tomorrow. Feeling lots of strong kicks now esp if I'm sitting or lying still. I've picked up a virus from DD1 the baby kicks to complain when I sneeze or cough. I think when I walk around it lulls the baby to sleep.

Congrats on all the happy scans!

AmyMaria2 · 16/01/2020 12:53

Thanks @UKtoSK @sarahlounich @newbyxx and everyone else! My sister in laws booked us a scan for this evening, I checked with midwife if it's ok to scanned again so soon and she said it's fine so hopefully we'll have a definite answer tonight!! Xx

Rinoa · 16/01/2020 12:56

@LillianFullStop how exciting! Mine is first thing in the morning, hoping we will all have good news ! :)
I am not sure if I am feeling any kicks, I seem to feel 'something' in the evening while watching tv after dinner, its my first so not sure if that's what it is! Anyway I can ask them tomorrow where my placenta is maybe that's why I'm confused haha.

Smiffette · 16/01/2020 13:30

Aww it's so nice hearing about all your scans! Mines first thing Monday, which currently feels like ages away!!
