Congrats @Cb31! How lovely to get the reassurance all is as it should be Smile Mine is on Friday so counting down the days!

Missgemini · 15/01/2020 15:55

Just been catching up on the thread. Very excited for everyone.

Just had my 20 week scan today. They went through all the organs. No concerns. Also found out we're having a boy!!!! Everyone is so excited! Can finally start referring to baby by name!

Also found out I have an anterior placenta, hence not feeling kicks yet. Baby was kicking during the scan, but we could see that he was kicking the placenta, so I couldn't feel it!

Good luck to everyone else waiting for their 20 week scan :)

hjbows88 · 15/01/2020 16:08

I’m going to breastfeed (all being well) @MrssC92 and have bought the medela digital double pump so I can express when I go back to work (after 16 weeks)

hjbows88 · 15/01/2020 16:10

Congrats to everyone on their scans! Do you get w report? I had a private reassurance scan and they gave me % for the various parts of the body they assess.

newbyxx · 15/01/2020 16:48

Congrats everyone with your scans! Nice to hear the anterior placenta does affect feeling movements as I'm still not feeling. @AmyMaria2 how did yours go? X

umabb · 15/01/2020 17:09

Congrats guys! Glad all went well. 😃

Pegase · 15/01/2020 18:26

Congratulations on positive scans! Mine isn't until 12 Feb!

Re: breastfeeding, I couldn't directly feed last time as baby didn't latch so I expressed. I used Ameda Lactaline double pump which was great although I'm sure there are better ones now. If anyone does end up doing a lot of expressing, I strongly recommend a pumping bra which allows you to express and move around (when you are in the house alone! Blush)

BabyBird20 · 15/01/2020 18:36

Can't believe we're at the 20 week scan stage!! The first 12 weeks were the slowest ever yet the last 7 weeks have flown by! It's a week Friday for me and I can't wait! Congrats to those who've already had them!

Does anyone who has a posterior placenta still not feel the baby? I'm thinking I should be able to by now as my placenta is low and at the back!! 😬😬

Zoey92 · 15/01/2020 18:43

Lovely to hear about everybody's 20-week scan😊 mine is in 2weeks.

17+3

Missgemini · 15/01/2020 19:22

@hjbows88 they gave us a print out that gave a number for all the important organs. I just remember she said all were within normal limits. I wouldn't know what the numbers mean, tbh.

Blizy · 15/01/2020 20:14

pegase my 20 week scan is the same
Day as hours. I had my 16 week appointment on Monday with my consultant, I was in for over 3 hours! I was given a bonus scan because I'm so very anxious. I had my second attempt of bloods for my harmony test last night, hoping beyond hip I get the results mon/tues. I've been off work for the last 2 weeks because of my anxiety, I'm going back tomorrow and I'm terrified!

Gigitree · 15/01/2020 20:24

@BabyBird20 I had a private scan on Saturday as my 20 week isn’t until 7th feb and they said my placenta is posterior but I haven’t felt anything yet! I’ve felt the odd weird feeling but nothing obvious/consistent.

Im a first time mum and I’m 17 weeks today.

QforCucumber · 15/01/2020 21:09

@MrssC92 I'll be bf again, ds was ebf for 6 months (bar 1 formula feed the first night at home as I was stressed and couldn't get him to latch) I struggled with expressing tbh - it's so tiring and I didnt get much of a yield, would take me a week to express a days worth of feeds so wasnt worth the effort Haha.

QforCucumber · 15/01/2020 21:11

@umabb no classes here, didnt with ds and wont this time either - theyee all at like 11am on a Wednesday and working full time I just don't have the time to go to them. A local church run baby group was my savoir when ds was born though - £2 and you got 1.5 hours of tea/sandwiches and biscuits and the old lady volunteers would pinch the baby off you for cuddles. Perfect way to meet local mums and have a rest.

sarahlounich · 15/01/2020 21:26

Just caught up with everyone since last week!

Pushchair wise we’ve reserved an Ocarro from Mamas and Papas- got a great deal in their sale at a parents to be event last weekend.

I’ve been feeling some little movements the last week but today I felt it from the outside and tonight my husband managed to feel our little ones tiny kicks and wriggles-very active tonight! Actually amazing 🥰

Has anyone else suffered with what I think is acid reflux/indigestion?! My nausea went about 3/4 weeks ago and straight away this has replaced it. I don’t really feel like gaviscon works. It feels like a constant lump in my chest/throat and it’s really started to get me down...I just want to enjoy food finally! I’ve tried eating little and often, not drinking while eating and all the other advice online 😫

Lovely to read everyone’s experiences of their 20 week scan...mines on Friday 🥰

20+1

MissisBee · 15/01/2020 21:53

18 weeks today, my 20 w scan is 4th Feb.
Haven't bought a single thing yet, but as it's #2, we hardly need anything. We will probably find out what we're having at the scan. Last time, we were still trying to decide on names days before DS was born. This time, we decided a boys name really early on, but haven't though of girls at all.
Not planning to go to any NCT groups or anything - didn't bother last time as expensive, then missed the NHS antenatal classes as I'd already been admitted to hospital. My Mumsnet group was, and still is, the biggest source of support to me.
There is a Facebook group set up for this group, if anyone wants to join.

@sarahlounich I've awful heartburn too. I'm on aspirin, which makes it worse. I'm now on omeprazole, after already moving through gaviscon and ranitidine.

BabyBird20 · 15/01/2020 22:02

@gigitree, thanks it's reassuring it's not just me! I have felt the odd little thing but always convince myself it's just my belly gurgling!! Sure he's ok as I saw him last week when I had an emergency scan due to some bleeding but the reassurance doesn't last long before the worry sets in again!!

QforCucumber · 15/01/2020 22:04

Asda baby event on at the moment. Just ordered a few bits and pieces online.

AmyMaria2 · 15/01/2020 22:42

Oh my goodness I've had a strange day. 20 week scan was lovely, baby was naughty again and wouldn't stop moving, also chin down on chest so couldn't see heart chambers or face, but everything else was totally normal and healthy which is amazing! However when it came to the gender (I already found out we're having a boy at 16 wks) the sonographer said he couldn't be 100% sure after zooming in on potty shot. I told him we were told boy at a private scan, and his face dropped! He said "I'm not leaning towards boy but I can't tell you 100%"
So now I'm totally confused! I posted my potty pic into a Facebook gender group and they're all saying girl🤦‍♀️ I've bought so much boy stuff, my pram bouncer crib and bigger things are neutral anyway but all the clothes!!🙈 I have got to go back in next 2 weeks to be rescanned to confirm gender and check things they missed today, I'm so happy babys healthy just now so shocked and confused, got so used to thinking I'm having a baby boy💙 I'll post my potty shot here see if anyone can compare or think they see anything I'm not?🤞

HayleyD84 · 15/01/2020 22:51

Hi @MissisBee what's the link for the Facebook group please, would love to join x

MissisBee · 15/01/2020 23:19

@HayleyD84 can you PM me with your email address and we'll get you added. (Hopefully, I'm not very technical 😆 but we'll get there!)

Gigitree · 16/01/2020 05:34

@BabyBird20 I know exactly what you mean, the scan reassurance is lovely while it lasts but it would be nice to get some consistent movement feelings to have more of a daily reassurance!

sarahlounich · 16/01/2020 05:56

@MissisBee did you see your GP to be prescribed that? I keeping thinking I should just put up with it but can’t do another 20 weeks of this! Did they give it you without much issue?

newbyxx · 16/01/2020 06:27

@AmyMaria2 wow what a confusing day!! First off so glad everything is ok that is the main thing! It happened to my friend she was told girl at private had a gender reveal and then at 20 week was told boy! I had my gender scan the same date as you however you can clearly see what I'm guessing is the penis In my pic whixh I've uploaded now, which you can't as much in the pic you've uploaded. I've been calling bump by name so must be such a strange feeling for you finding out it may be a girl! However aslong as they're healthy last all that matters! Can't wait for mine!
