Hey! Just wanted to start up a thread because I couldn’t find another one, just got my BFP today after about 6 months of trying. Due date is 1st august! Still feeling nervous as I’ve had 2 miscarriages in the past but both before 6 weeks, so ill be keeping my fingers crossed and wont let myself get too excited until that deadline has passed!

Hope to hear from other ladies due at the same time, and hear your BFP stories :) xx

@jojo19834 thank you for the acknowledgement, guess I'll just have to wait it out and see how it goes!

No sure how many dpo I am, had EWCM 11th, 12th & 13th so potentially between 17-19, is that sill quite early to get a bpf?

Girlinglasses · 01/12/2019 19:49

@DieCryHate crossing my fingers for you that's it's not an ectopic. Am I right I'm thinking that even if it were an ectopic it still wouldn't suddenly go from positive to negative, because the hcg keeps climbing, albeit much more slowly? So hopefully in that case not ectopic and you guys can try again x

Girlinglasses · 01/12/2019 19:59

@francis05 I wouldn't say it's early but, hypothetically, say you ovulated on the 14th, sperm didn't hit up the egg until the 15th, and then it took on the longer timescale of things for eggie to implant, so 12 days, that would put your implantation on the 27th and according to good old google "With most current pregnancy test kits, hCG can be detected in the urine as early as 3-4 days after implantation, though it often takes longer."

So, it is still possible that you are pregnant and the test should be positive in the next couple of days! I would say keep testing first thing in the morning, and then maybe contact your doc in a few days if still no period? Good luck 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Shinyspade · 01/12/2019 20:11

Hi all! Congratulations on your BFP’s! I got mine on Thursday and am due 9th August.
This will be my second, I already have an almost 4 year old.
So far symptoms are lots and lots of cramping, headaches, tiredness and a bit of nausea.

Macbless · 01/12/2019 20:30

@Girlinglasses @Jojo19834 @meggybug @JessManc I'm there with you. Apart from cramps which make me think my period is on it's way I feel no different so quietly panicking each time it happens and then forcing myself not to run to the toilet!

@DieCryHate I'm so sorry you're having such a horrible start to things. With a history of ectopic I'm sure ringing for some advice at the least and hopefully bloods will give you some answers.

We just told my mum and dad. My mum had tears in her eyes. We've been away for the weekend and got back to a letter asking me to make an appointment for infertility clinic. How quickly things can change. Just hope it sticks! Xxxx

francis05 · 01/12/2019 20:31

@girlinglasses thank you! Because I've not had af since coming off the pill in Sept its impossible to work out dates but what you've said has given me a hint if possibility!

What tests did you all find were the best for first bpf results?

Jojo19834 · 01/12/2019 20:43

@francis05 I used frer test and got a strong positive 14 dpo, what have you been using?

francis05 · 01/12/2019 20:53

Jojo19834 I used a frer quite early on which was negative but was probably too early. Since got a negative on cb & 2 vvvfaint positives on sainsburys. Think I will order some frer to test later in the week.

Girlinglasses · 01/12/2019 21:26

@francis05 I got a strong positive on a clear blue early detection test so I'd say pick up some sort of early detection one!

meggybug · 02/12/2019 06:24

@LanieM87 @Girlingglasses @Jojo19834 caves and took another test this morning! I went for the clear blue how many weeks and got 2-3. That's god to be a good sign of progression 🙏

Girlinglasses · 02/12/2019 06:56

@meggybug a very good sign, yay!! 🥳

Beardy1 · 02/12/2019 06:58

Hi all,
Great to see all the bfps.

I’m 35 with a 2 year old and found out we are pregnant on Saturday. EDD is the 9th of August. I had a bit of Brown spotting yesterday which really freaked me out as I’ve had a miscarriage before but it has stopped now. Will go and get another test today to see how I’m progressing.

Regarding worries about first born- I’m there with you. I feel guilty for wanting another when I’m so lucky to have my first. The mum guilt can be so bad.

I also have a work do on the 13th where I’ll just have to lie about driving etc. Although we’ve been trying for 2 months I expected it to take ages. Crasy

Jojo19834 · 02/12/2019 07:20

@meggybug now you got me wanting to test again. Want to do the clearblue now so you can see time moving forward. 2-3 weeks is just what you want to hear!!!

Jojo19834 · 02/12/2019 07:27

@meggybug, remind me, what is your due date?

Jojo19834 · 02/12/2019 07:28

@Beardy1 congratulations and welcome to the group. Can imagine what the mum guilt is but think of all the ways your first born will benefit from a sibling!

LanieM87 · 02/12/2019 07:33

Yes definitely @meggybug I've got one of those to take later in the week when I tip over in to 5 weeks. Hoping for the same result!!

Firstmummytobe · 02/12/2019 07:42

I ovulated on the 12 November, (I can tell when I ovulate because I get a very sharp pain on one side, and rise in temp) and I chose to use clear blue how many weeks early detection. I used this on the 19th of November so that’s only 7 DPO!!!!! And I got pregnant 1-2 weeks. I used another clear blue last night (1st December) to test weeks and it showed 3+ weeks :) I’m so happy that I’m showing good progression. I’m going for my intra vaginal scan today, so hopefully I will know them exactly how far gone I am.

Anybody else bloated that much that they look 4 MONTHS pregnant and not 4 weeks Blush because I’m worried people at work are going to start the guessing game very soon, also my parents know but my parteners do not!!!!

meggybug · 02/12/2019 07:52

@LanieM87 @Girlingglasses @Jojo19834 thanks ladies! Really glad I did retest because I feel a lot more confident now. Albeit it can still go wrong from here but at least I'm heading in the right direction for now!

@Jojo19834 If I do EDD from LMP then it's 12th August, but if I go by ovulation date it's 8th August as I ovulated early. So I'm somewhere in the 4/4.5 weeks zone. Might take another test in a week just to see it change to 3+ weeks!

MaisieMolly · 02/12/2019 11:43

Hello. My first post after lurking for years! I got my BFP over the weekend. App says due 9 Aug based on ovulation date, I didn’t ovulate until CD20 so only 4+2. First pregnancy.

TMI- I’ve had some what I think must be “spotting” on CD11,12,15 and 16 (today). Looks like my usual discharge but tinged brown, and yesterday had a small dark brown clot in it (maybe the size of a pumpkin seed?!) I usually get this type of spotting each month a couple of days before my period starts. Terrified it’s not sticking but what else can I do!? Anyone else having this?

No obvious other symptoms yet except slightly sore boobs and very very mild cramps (again feeling like my period is about to start), almost so symptomless I think I might be imagining it!

Hope to continue on this journey with you all.

MaisieMolly · 02/12/2019 11:55

I meant DPO not CD in previous post, oooops!

MrsC105 · 02/12/2019 11:55

Hi all,

hope i can join?

got my first BFP today after trying for 6 months with only 2 real AF's

so excited but nervous at the same time!

haven't told DH yet as want to see his face when he finds out :)

LanieM87 · 02/12/2019 13:27

Ho @MaisieMolly congrats on your BFP, I've been having spotting over the last week also, it's been minor and probably once a day on wiping, but enough to frighten me. I'm booked in with the midwife next Monday so hopefully everything will be ok.
I keep reading that minimal spotting is very normal! Fingers crossed for us both!

MaisieMolly · 02/12/2019 14:04

Hi @LanieM87
Two of us in the same boat then. That’s good that you’re booked into the midwife next Monday already. I wonder if I should do the same. Definitely would be good to get something in before Christmas starts as I’m visiting family for a week then, but the superstition is killing me here!
Did you go to your GP first or straight to a midwife (how do you even find that out?!), how did you get the appointment?

Big congratulations to @MrsC105 and everyone else too.

LanieM87 · 02/12/2019 14:22

@MaisieMolly I rang my GP this morning and they gave me a number for the midwife team who do the early booking appointments so I rang them and they offered me an appointment quite quickly really!
I'll mention the spotting then I think unless it gets worse. I took a cheap test this morning and the line is still clear, but not as dark as I would have liked. But that might just be the test. I dunno!

ladyofearlybedtimes · 02/12/2019 14:46

Congrats all. I'm either due 31st July or 1st August. Starting to feel a little sickie already and have a private scan booked in the 21st December.
