Hey! Just wanted to start up a thread because I couldn’t find another one, just got my BFP today after about 6 months of trying. Due date is 1st august! Still feeling nervous as I’ve had 2 miscarriages in the past but both before 6 weeks, so ill be keeping my fingers crossed and wont let myself get too excited until that deadline has passed!

Hope to hear from other ladies due at the same time, and hear your BFP stories :) xx

So today was meant to be exciting, my booking in appointment with the midwife at 7+3. But instead I woke up having painful cramps and pink spotting when I wipe.
So I phoned the doctor surgery and explained I’m seeing the midwife later but unsure what to do.
They were so helpful, the doctor referred me to the EPAU and I have to go in at 8.30 tomorrow for a scan.
I then went on to have my booking in appointment as normal. She did her very best at reassuring me. She did my weight, height, medical history, blood pressure that was a bit high, and then took blood.
She did the appointment as though everything was normal and said she’d call me tomorrow after the scan to see how it went.
She booked my next appointment which she does at my house, so that (all being well will be 3rd January), and she sent off the request for the 12 week scan which she said I should get through in the post by the weekend.
She gave me lots of booking forms to fill out which we’ll then go through next time and that’s when she’ll give me the maternity notes.
So today has been a bit up and down and now it’s just a horrible waiting game until the scan in the morning. We have a private scan booked for Christmas Eve too.

Frazzlerock · 18/12/2019 15:58

Oh @Moominmiss I so hope all is well. It seems to be normal for most of us this time around to have a bit of pink spotting. I know you will worry though xx

DiaryOfaTTCer · 18/12/2019 17:24

Sorry to hear that @Moominmiss! Fingers crossed for the scan on Christmas Eve xx

Moominmiss · 18/12/2019 17:24

@Frazzlerock thank you. I’m not hopeful at all now I’m afraid.
Just been to the loo again and more blood when I wipe and sorry for tmi but a very small stringy but of blood.
Only there when I wipe for the first time, but it’s there so somethings causing it.
Fully expecting the worst now. I’m treating tomorrow’s scan as confirmation I’ve miscarried 😪

DiaryOfaTTCer · 18/12/2019 17:27

Sorry I didn’t realise you had the scan tomorrow, misread!
Spotting can be so very common in pregnancy and some people even have it throughout their pregnancy (my friend did) but I completely understand how you must be feeling! Will have everything crossed

Babykent2019 · 18/12/2019 19:20

Haven't been on the last few days in full on melt down mode. Had a MMC back in June and feel like this pregnancy may end up a miscarriage as well.

On Monday afternoon I had what can only be explained as a "gush" of blood. Enough to fill a sanitary towel, however no clots and no pain. I haven't had any blood since.

When to the GP and all he said was retest Friday to see if your still pregnant. I did one today and still showing a strong positive and will do another Friday but not feeling confident 🙁😥

girlygirl98 · 18/12/2019 19:51

@Babykent2019 I'm sorry to hear that. It's so stressful isn't it? I've just joined this thread. I'm 6+7 and have had almost constant bits of brown blood for two weeks now. Last week there was even red and I sent to the hospital to a scan. They said it all looked ok but no heartbeat but they said they wouldn't expect it at 5+3.

girlygirl98 · 18/12/2019 19:54

@Moominmiss just seen that you're spotting as well. Like I said I've had it for two weeks now. I did have it with my first born six years ago too and she was fine. Spotting doesn't always mean a miscarriage. How far along are you?

Babykent2019 · 18/12/2019 20:01

@girlygirl98 it was more than spotting, felt like I'd wet myself and when I went to the toilet it was red , watery blood. I haven't bleed since that one lot tho so I suppose that's a good sign. Might ring the Epu myself 2mo and see what they see if my test is still positive. Hubby saying stay positive but it's not the best situation to be in 😕

girlygirl98 · 18/12/2019 20:07

@Babykent2019 It might seem very sinister but I do think a lot of women get it to different degrees but when you see it you just go sick to your stomach I know! I wish I'd kept a diary with my first baby now because I can't remember the extent of it. I know I had about three scans because I was worried about spotting and she was always fine. I would definitely ring epau and see if you can get in. Sitting at home on knicker watch is no joke!

Babykent2019 · 18/12/2019 20:40

@girlygirl98 thanks I'll give them a call 2mo. I was up and down the stairs a lot @ work so perhaps I over did it 🤞🏻

Moominmiss · 18/12/2019 20:50

@girlygirl98 I’m supposedly 7+3. It’s the cramping that’s along side it that makes me think there’s something to worry about.
I just feel different.
I just went to the loo again and nothing. Not when I wipe or anything.
I’m terrified every time I go to the toilet.
I don’t know if it could be linked, but both times today that I’ve had the pink/red when wiping, it was after a bowel movement (sorry for tmi). Think I’m clutching at straws to think of anything that it might be due to other than a miscarriage.
I’m just thankful I don’t have to wait all day for my scan.

CharlotteCx · 18/12/2019 21:07

Hi ladies .. I got my BFP Sunday & am due 27th Aug 2020 according to google lol. This is my first ever pregnancy, was Ttc for 3 months which was my 3rd month of Clomid due to pcos. Is it just me or as soon as you get your BFP you just instantly start worrying about everything 🙈

CharlotteCx · 18/12/2019 21:08

Oh & im 4+1 tomorrow 🥰

Jojo19834 · 18/12/2019 21:21

@Moominmiss and @babykent2019 hope all goes well with the scan/tests. As people have said, bleeding happens to many during pregnancy. There have been days (like today) when I don’t feel pregnant but so far so good for me so hopefully the same for you. I can only imagine your fear when wiping, I look every time now and do a little internal dance when it’s clear. I know I would sink if anything was there but it can be normal, so let’s pray for normal for you both xx

Jojo19834 · 18/12/2019 21:24

@CharlotteCx congratulations on the BFP, yep, positive = worry. What’s that twinge? Is it normal? Why do I not feel sick yet? It goes on and on! Welcome to the club and please share your journey with us

Frazzlerock · 18/12/2019 21:24

@Babykent2019 I'm thinking of you. It's such a horridly worrying time when there's bleeding involved. Can you get your hands on some progesterone?

This goes to all of you with bleeding, there was a Tommy's trial which showed women with previous MMC or MC who have bleeding in a following pregnancy and then take progesterone are more likely to have a successful pregnancy.

Let me grab the info sheet I was sent by my RMC. Might be worth taking to your GP...

Frazzlerock · 18/12/2019 21:26

This is it

Anyone due August 2020?
girlygirl98 · 18/12/2019 21:35

The thing that I worry about with taking progesterone is that if there is something medically wrong with the baby, nature usually steps in but if you're artificially prolonging unhealthy pregnancies with progesterone where does it lead? I'm not a scientist obviously so might be a stupid thought. I looked into this myself before my daughter as had three miscarriages early on and couldn't get a proper answer from my consultant. I did take low dose aspirin though

Frazzlerock · 18/12/2019 22:01

@girlygirl98 I took progesterone in my last pregnancy (although right from my BFP) and our baby had Trisomy 16. We had a MMC but the progesterone didn't prolong the pregnancy or keep a sick baby alive. I think the idea is that it thickens the lining if there are any issues there. Such as with PCOS, which I have. It won't prevent the loss of a baby who is incompatible with life.

I think I'd just rather do something. This time my consultant refused to give me progesterone unless I had bleeding in pregnancy which is why I was given it last week. So instead of taking it from BFP, I took it from when I needed it.
As for aspirin, my consultant said I shouldn't take it until we see a heartbeat as the baby needs slightly sticky blood to implant (or something)

I guess the option is there but I don't think it's common knowledge.

DanielleG96 · 18/12/2019 22:04

Hi all I had my early scan this evening at 7 +3, everything went well the baby is heathy with a heartbeat of 145bpm! Seeing the little one really reassured me as I had some light spotting a couple weeks ago. But everything looks good and baby is measuring 7+1 making my due date 4th August! Hopefully this will stop me worrying as much!

Anyone due August 2020?
CharlotteCx · 18/12/2019 22:06

@Jojo198434 thank u ☺️ yes it's literally every little twinge haha, Iv just had some really mild twinges on my right side on n off and I'm thinking OMG WHAT IS THAT. Straight on google 🙈 apperently it's normal for that to happen, especially around the time your AF was due, mine would have been Saturday 21st Dec. I got my BFP at 9dpo with a FRER. How far a long are you x x

girlygirl98 · 18/12/2019 22:23

@DanielleG96 that's fantastic! I have mine booked on Monday and I'll be 7 +3 too. Hope I get some food news fc. Did they have to do it internally?

DanielleG96 · 18/12/2019 22:28

@girlygirl98 thank you*@girlygirl98* no it was all external! Good luck for your scan! It really was amazing!!

DiaryOfaTTCer · 18/12/2019 22:58

@CharlotteCx Congratulations and welcome! I have been exactly the same too since my BFP, been worrying ever since!

@Babykent2019 I’m sorry to hear things have been tough, I’ve had quite a lot of pain today too and been going to the loo none stop to check if anything is there - it’s a horrible feeling.

@DanielleG96 Very exciting that you’ve got a pic already! Would you say that going for an early scan is worth it? I’m only 5+4 so it would be after Christmas in the new year for me.
