Hey! Just wanted to start up a thread because I couldn’t find another one, just got my BFP today after about 6 months of trying. Due date is 1st august! Still feeling nervous as I’ve had 2 miscarriages in the past but both before 6 weeks, so ill be keeping my fingers crossed and wont let myself get too excited until that deadline has passed!

Hope to hear from other ladies due at the same time, and hear your BFP stories :) xx

@Frazzlerock how are you? Did you pick up the prescription ?

Frazzlerock · 12/12/2019 11:31

Just leaving now to pick up the prescription @EROD I've just got to wait it out afterwards and have my already booked scan next Friday. I'm not having any cramps which gives me hope, but the lack of sore boobs is worrying.
She said if things don't work out then I should collect the "product" (my baby FFS!) and take it to the hospital for karyotyping (again). I've not thought that far ahead yet though so not sure if I want to do that again or not.

I hope everyone else is well x

LKW91 · 12/12/2019 11:39

Hi all

Due date 5.8.2020
Age 28 (29 when due)
First pregnancy so no idea what to expect! Woke up at midnight feeling nauseous and then was sick, so not sure if that’s the morning (or middle of the night) sickness starting?!

Frazzlerock · 12/12/2019 12:02

Right I'm going to post my stats in some vain attempt of remaining positive about all this

My stats:
6th pregnancy
2 living DS (ages 10 and 14)
2 MMC at 9 weeks (one trisomy 16 - a boy)
1 spontaneous MC at 4 weeks
Age 40
Due 08/08/2020
Currently 5+6 after a long year of TTC after losing our little boy

blackpinkinyourarea · 12/12/2019 13:10

@Frazzlerock im really sorry you're having to go through this and i have all my fingers crossed for a positive outcome Flowers

Jumping on the stats bandwagon:
Age: 29
Due: 6th August
Im exactly 6 weeks today.
This is my first pregnancy and we conceived 3 months after my implant removal.
Symptoms wise, Im STILL not really feeling pregnant! I dont have increased tiredness (maybe a tiny bit..) no increased urination, no nausea or sickness etc. The only thing Im experiencing a few times a day is period cramps in my uterus and thighs.
Im sure everything is fine and i should be sooo grateful to not have morning sickness but honestly a bit of nausea would reassure me..!!
I have my appointment with the midwife next thursday which im excited and nervous about.

blackpinkinyourarea · 12/12/2019 13:13

Is anyone else announcing on Christmas day to family? I am planning on either telling my mum the day I get my early scan (will be 7+2) on the Saturday before Christmas , but also toying with waiting a few more days and doing it on the day itself! Wont be anything to over the top, just a Christmas card that says grandma on and will then have the scan inside Grin

LKW91 · 12/12/2019 13:13

@blackpinkinyourarea I thought I’d be reassured by the nausea but now it’s started I’ve changed my mind!

blackpinkinyourarea · 12/12/2019 13:26

@LKW91 oh bless you! That's exactly what i mean though, i know i should shush and count my blessings Im still sickness free. I just feel so unpregnant!

Dollywilde · 12/12/2019 13:57

@blackpinkinyourarea we'll be telling DH's mum on Xmas eve and my parents on Boxing day when we see both sets. There's absolutely no way in hell they won't realise as soon as they see me swerving the xmas booze!

DH's mum and my parents are quite different - she love a big drama and my mum and dad are a bit quieter (still v loving but less OMGGGG! Grin) So DH is giving his mum a card saying her present is 8 months delayed... and will wait for her to get it ;-) Whereas I'm going to wait until we arrive at my parents' on Boxing Day and when they ask if I'd like a drink just nonchalantly say 'love to, but probably shouldn't, it's not good for the baby' and see if they pick up on that.

TBH if it wasn't Christmas I'd hold off on telling either family until after the 12 week, but (a) as I said it'll be so tricky to keep under wraps, (b) it's such a lovely piece of news to share at Christmas I can't resist and (c) it's something to look forward to after all the fake drinking I'm having to do at parties at the moment :(

I know there's still a chance something could go wrong but I just feel like the pros outweigh the cons - I don't have a problem with close family knowing if we had an mc. That said I certainly don't want to shout it from the rooftops (hence the fake drinking...)

plantmum · 12/12/2019 15:46

@Dollywilde I'm with you on this - I would have liked to wait longer to tell but can't be avoided at Christmas when seeing family!

Has anyone told work yet? I had a wave of sickness earlier that I was able to hide but definitely won't be able to always if it starts happening more :/ none of my managers are discreet/professional so I really don't want to but norovirus has been around so I don't want them to send me home thinking it's that!

Lucylou22039 · 12/12/2019 16:00

@Dollywilde love all those ideas think it's a great Xmas present.

I told my mum about 4 minutes after I told my DP one because I would be too obvious with my drinking and two I had about 10000 questions to ask ect.

The only other people I have told is the girls at work , that's guessed tbh then I told my boss as we work within a factory so I wanted to as I dint want my work getting in trouble or anything silly xx

Sjacey · 12/12/2019 16:01

@blackpinkinyourarea I would just enjoy it I had absaloutely no morning sickness with my son who is now 11 yrs old I didn’t even have nausea which was lovely but I did get pre-eclampsia later on which kind of made up for it I was a tiny size 6 when I fell pregnant and put on 3 and a half stone was so swollen with water retention my nose was three times the size ! Luckily I gave birth naturally and it wasn’t so severe that my baby and I were in the danger zone, Really hoping I don’t get it again as I know your more likely to if you’ve already had it with one pregnancy !. But yes I had no sickness with my first I then fell pregnant 2 years ago and had the worst sickness of my life from 6 weeks and then went on to miscarry at 8 weeks, so I would not use sickness as a confirmation of anything just enjoy it while it lasts ! Smile xx

Tink12345 · 12/12/2019 16:38

Still nothing since the bleed a few days ago so shall risk posting stats!

Age: 31
Due: 10th August
5 + 3 today
Have PCOS and Endo so had about 10 years of hell with those....in and out of hosp etc and being told that I will never conceive naturally. Well, after being told they will finally send us to the fertility specialist I fall pregnant Shock I have told myself for so long that it wont happen that I'm struggling to believe it is.

My sister in law is 15 weeks pregnant with 2nd and I saw her last night for the first time since she announced. Was so hard not saying anything!!

Frazzlerock · 12/12/2019 17:09

That's good news @Tink12345
I also have PCOS so I can relate to the frustration of TTC. Must be double hard with endo. I'm so pleased your bleeding has stopped. Are you having a scan soon?

Dragonfly909 · 12/12/2019 18:25

How's everyone's nausea? I'm nearly 7 weeks and been feeling sick for a solid week now, it doesn't really go away but gets a bit better if I eat some bland food. Haven't actually thrown up but come close! Has anyone got any tips for managing nausea? Ginger tea seems to help for me a bit.

Frazzlerock · 12/12/2019 18:45

No real nausea for me. Had it very slightly over the past few days but I can't work out if it's wishful thinking. I've had (TMI) sickie burps though a few times which I never have normally. Don't remember that in any other pregs!

Frazzlerock · 12/12/2019 18:48

I've just googled, it's acid reflux. Slightly nicer explanation than 'sickie burps'

Tink12345 · 12/12/2019 19:47

@Frazzlerock I had reflux last week but it's gone away now. I've been drinking pints of milk though as that helped stop it. Not sure if that's good or bad! I've self referred to the midwife but not heard anything back yet but not sure how long it takes. I'm going to have a private scan after christmas. Going away with OH and dog for Xmas this year to get away from crazy families and dont want to spoil it if I get bad news before we go. Will be 7 weeks by the time we get back so fingers crossed I'll see a heartbeat.

Been thinking about you all day. Wishing for good news for you on friday

Jojo19834 · 12/12/2019 20:02

Hahaha sickie burps! But I have had those too, read that things loosen up which is why heartburn is common in pregnancy so I counted them as positives, even if a little grim

No real nausea from me yet at 6+1 but do find smaller portions are required, I can overeat if eat a normal portion and it’s not comfortable. Plus less appetite in the evening

Kbr1986 · 12/12/2019 20:22

Hello ladies Smile
I'm 33 and just found out I'm expecting my 2nd. Already got a little girl who is 14 months on Saturday. I knew we conceived as soon as it happened even though I had to wait into test! Weird as I'd been tracking and chatting and even bought an OPK. We got it bang on and I just enjoyed those 2 weeks.
Hoping for a less sickly pregnancy as was sick almost every day last time. Also had a forceps delivery so hoping for a fully non assisted and natural birth next time. I was on a forum last time and it helped a lot!
Oh yeah I'm due 11/12th August. So 5 weeks today. Loads of my friends know. We are a military family on patch where all my friends have young kids like me and most of them are also pregnant with their 2nd or have a v young baby already so knew I wouldn't be able to keep it a secret for long.

MaisieMolly · 12/12/2019 20:40

Welcome to the new BFPs!

Anyone getting a dull kind of ache in their belly and hips/ top of legs? I’ve had it all day. It’s not a sharp pain at all but just “there”. I’m 5+ 4 or something around that. Wondering if it’s a symptom, OR related to a Pilates class I did!

Sjacey · 12/12/2019 21:20

@maisiemolly I’ve had cramps in my legs all week and back ache feels like the longest period in the world basically exactly the same symptoms exempt they don’t go away 😭 !

Louisaizzy · 12/12/2019 21:22

Hi everyone, I’ve spent the day scrolling through this chat.
My stats are
4+5 wks
Age 40
2 kids already 8yrs girl- surprise baby ,
4yrs boy-decided to have another two weeks later I was pregnant.
#3 baby
Found out yesterday at work!
My husband and I were ttc for the past year on and off.. this month we gave up, as we were thinking we were too old to conceive and nature was telling us something. I went to the Dr to start the mini pill. I have been waiting for my period to start taking the pill but low and behold I’m pregnant!
Symptoms
Constipation, tiredness, mild thirst, sensitive nipples, headache!

Will be checking in everyday and reading everything on here no doubt!

Louisaizzy · 12/12/2019 21:24

Meant to say due calculator says due 16th August

BeanTurnipSpudPea · 12/12/2019 22:09

@EROD not sure if we are crazy 😜😂 we also thought done after our third. Was only when I tried to sell the pram and couldn’t ... that I realised maybe we wasn’t.

We stopped preventing at the beginning of October, fell pregnant that cycle. Lost the baby at 6+4. That was 45 days ago.

Decided to start preventing and wait 12m so we could process the miscarriage on 15th Nov. Period hadn’t arrived, assumed cycle all out due to hormones and MC .... did a test yesterday and I’ve never seen a darker blue line!

Rang EPU as I was never checked 6 weeks ago, they are pretty certain I have a new pregnancy as I got a negative test following the bleeding.

According to duedate calcs were due 3rd August ... but going off past pregnancies there is a 4 week window 😂

My stats
Age: 30 (31 when give birth)
Pregnancy : 5
Baby: 4
Edd: 03.08.20

Booking in apt booked for 27th Dec, unsure when to go public .... I love the secret of a new life inside me and no one knowing but DH and me ☺️
